Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 700, Cherry Blossom Country’s Opportunity?

Translator: Silavin

As the sky was illuminated, the colossal entity flying through was exposed before everyone’s eyes.

In an instant, the entire Nagaita fell into a deathly silence, with only the continuous explosive sounds of fireworks echoing.

Immediately after, countless cries of shock and wails erupted.

“W-What is that thing!? A Giant Dragon!?”

“No… That’s impossible! Dragons truly exist in this world!?”

“There must be Dragons! Dragon Country has a Dragon Tamer! Rumour has it that he possesses Giant Dragons, and he has more than one!”

“But his Pet Dragons are all Baby Dragons, aren’t they? Look at that one in the sky! It’s as massive as a mountain! That’s clearly an Adult Giant Dragon!”

“What kind of joke is this!? That is a Divine Being! How could ordinary people like us ever hope to encounter a single one of them!?”

“Why has this Giant Dragon come to Nagaita? Surely our country won’t experience the same terrifying Monster Tide that befell Extremistis Country, right!?”

“Where are our Fifth Profession Players!? Have them deal with this Giant Dragon! If it launches an attack on Nagaita, hundreds of thousands will die!”

“Fifth Profession Players!? That’s a Giant Dragon! Even Fifth Profession Players will be no match for it! They will not dare come out. We’d better flee for our lives!”

“Everyone, don’t panic! This Giant Dragon isn’t necessarily targeting Nagaita! Perhaps it’s merely passing through!? Once it departs, we will be safe.”

“That’s our only hope. I’m Level 69, and even I can’t tell what its Level is. If that Giant Dragon simply leaves like this, that’s fine, but if it descends upon Nagaita, no one in the city would be able to stop it.”

“No… damn it! It’s really descending! It’s landing in Nagaita! Quick… Run!”

“Heavens, is our Cherry Blossom Country going to get destroyed? To have a Giant Dragon descend here…”

“Nonsense! Why should our country get destroyed? In my view, this might be an opportunity for us.”

“Exactly! This Dragon might simply favour our country. It might be descending here to become a Divine Beast for Nagaita.”

“How could that be possible? Are you day dreaming?”

“Bah! One can hope right…”

Amongst the crowd, someone attempted to refute, when suddenly the massive Giant Dragon had already descended into Nagaita.

This Dragon was none other than the Bronze Dragon.

His countenance was cold and aloof, paying no heed to anything else. Recalling the Map Lu Fan had provided him, he confirmed he had not landed in the wrong location.

Subsequently, his gaze fell upon an ancient, elegant courtyard within Nagaita City.

According to the intelligence, this courtyard belonged to the Nakamura Clan of Cherry Blossom Country. Within the Nakamura Clan was a Level 113 Player, who was their Ancestor.

This Ancestor was rumoured to have died years ago, but in reality, he had been alive all along, merely lurking in the shadows, controlling the entire Nakamura Clan and making them the foremost Force in Nagaita.

Rumours of the Nakamura Ancestor’s survival frequently circulated in Nagaita, though no one possessed sufficient evidence.

Naturally, this Level 100+ Player naturally appeared on Elder Han’s assassination list.

And this particular Mission had been entrusted to the Bronze Dragon.

The Bronze Dragon’s eyes gleamed with metallic light, clearly employing some form of Detection Skill.

Under the Bronze Dragon’s Skill, Nakamura Ancestor had nowhere to hide.

“Found you.” The Bronze Dragon’s massive mouth curved into a grin, then he raised his Dragon Claw, striking toward the Nakamura Clan’s courtyard.

*Boom!*

The entire Nagaita shook violently under the Bronze Dragon’s strike. Abyss-like fissures spread outward frantically from the Nakamura Clan’s courtyard as the epicentre, permeating throughout all of Nagaita.

The might of this single blow was awe-inspiring!

How could the Nakamura Clan’s courtyard possibly withstand such an attack?

In an instant, the entire courtyard vanished into clouds of smoke and dust. The powerful Nakamura Clan members were almost all instantaneously obliterated, all except one.

As the courtyard was destroyed, a bright light emerged from deep underground, followed by continuous *cracking* sounds.

Those knowledgeable could discern this as signs of a Secret Realm being forcibly breached. Beneath the Nakamura Clan’s courtyard, there was a small Secret Realm.

Now, under the Bronze Dragon’s single strike, this Secret Realm was directly shattered, unable to maintain itself.

As the Secret Realm was breached, a Human figure escaped from within, frantically fleeing in one direction, clearly unwilling to have any contact with the Bronze Dragon.

Sensing the aura emanating from this person, one could tell this individual was definitely a formidable expert.

However, such an expert truly appeared insignificant before the Bronze Dragon.

The Bronze Dragon could immediately sense that this person was someone above Level 110. He was likely his target.

Seeing this person attempt to flee, the Bronze Dragon spread his wings. His massive form erupted with astonishing speed, and in a flash, he swept past the Level 100+ expert.

Immediately after, without anyone witnessing the Bronze Dragon’s attack, that person’s body exploded, transforming into a rain of blood.

Such a scene left everyone in Nagaita speechless with silence.

Now, it was clear. The Bronze Dragon had not come to serve as their Divine Beast. It had obviously come to kill!

Now, their hearts were trembling with worry. Were they going to be like Extremistis Country, and get swept up by a terrifying Monster Tide!?

In an instant, realising this Giant Dragon had come to kill, the people screamed and fled. No longer did anyone believe this Bronze Dragon represented an opportunity for their country.

The Bronze Dragon could not be bothered with them. After slaying the Nakamura Ancestor, he spread his wings and charged toward another location in Nagaita.

Throughout all of Nagaita, the Nakamura Clan was not the only one harbouring a hidden super expert.

The Bronze Dragon’s journey here encompassed three targets in total.

The remaining two targets possessed strength by no means inferior to the Nakamura Ancestor.

Unfortunately, before the Bronze Dragon, their fate could not be changed. Like the Nakamura Ancestor, their bodies all shattered upon contact.

In less than ten minutes, Nagaita’s three hidden super experts had been slain.

Simultaneously, the Bronze Dragon had killed countless others and destroyed innumerable buildings. Though, that was just the aftermath of him moving. This had occurred while he refrained from deliberately engaging in wholesale slaughter.

It had to be said that if Lu Fan had commanded him to raze Cherry Blossom Country, the current Nagaita would likely have become ruins by now…

Silavin: In this chapter, they talk about retribution, like ‘In the past, our Cherry Blossom Country waged wars and committed countless terrible deeds’. And this event was retribution.

I’m changing this context because it irks me. Maybe I’m going a little too far with this change, but I don’t really see a point in having this context, since it hardly adds to the story. We hardly even know what wrongs this fictional country did, unless we literally take it as Japan.

Even the original title is ‘Cherry Blossom Country’s Retribution’
