Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 694, Clearing the Battlefield

In the blink of an eye, the Wind Prison was also crushed alongside everything else beneath the Two Headed Dragon’s Skill.

The Wind Prison had been exceptionally sturdy, yet even it proved powerless against this Dragon Breath. The sheer destructive power of such a Skill needed no further elaboration.

The Two Headed Dragon ceased his Dragon Breath, and where Kage Tenshi and his companions had stood, only a deep crater remained.

Within the pit, one half resembled a volcanic landscape with rolling magma. The other half was frozen wasteland, with ice crystals condensed like diamonds.

At the junction between the two extremes, steam continuously rose forth, clearly the result of cold air and heat waves clashing against each other in mutual defiance, refusing to compromise. This contrast created quite a spectacle.

Simultaneously, three silhouettes could be faintly discerned within the deep crater.

These three figures had either transformed into Humanoid black ash or become pure white snow particles. Without careful examination, it would be difficult to discern they had been Human.

Without question, these three silhouettes were the now-deceased Kage Tenshi and his companions.

The fact that they had all been Fifth Profession Players was the only reason anything remained at all. Had they been ordinary Level 100 Players, not even ash would have been left behind.

Witnessing such a scene, Lu Fan could not help but recall when he had previously killed Kage Mako, believing he had eliminated his opponent.

However, his enemy had employed a Level 100 Divine Skill to escape. Though, they could not exactly call it unharmed. After all, he had paid no small price for his escape, a full 5 Levels.

Nevertheless, Kage Mako had ultimately survived.

Lu Fan had no intention of releasing the tiger back to the mountains, especially not an existence of Kage Tenshi’s calibre. Should he seek revenge and cause chaos throughout Dragon Country, capturing him would prove no easy task.

Once such a person became an enemy, they had to be killed with absolute ruthlessness, roots and all.

Therefore, Lu Fan furrowed his brow and inquired of the Two Headed Dragon. “Are these three people all dead?”

“Among Players, some possess unpredictable escape Skills. It’s entirely possible for someone to appear dead on the surface while actually being able to resurrect elsewhere. Previously, one of them had already been killed by me, but later used a Level 100 Divine Skill to resurrect. If it were anyone else, it wouldn’t matter much, but these people are all Fifth Profession Players. Should they escape, they’ll likely be really troublesome to deal with in the future.”

Upon hearing this, the Two Headed Dragon offered reassurance. “Don’t worry. Such Skills are ineffective against us Eternal Phase Giant Dragons. Unless the opponent is a Sixth Profession Player, the Mechanics of our Skill take priority over theirs. Anyone killed by our Skill is truly dead, with absolutely no possibility of resurrection. Even if they possess Legendary Grade items that can resurrect them, the same Mechanics applies. After being killed by our Skill, such items will not be able to activate.”

“Well, except if it is a Mythical Grade item. That is another matter entirely. Our Mechanics Level basically overcomes the Legendary Grade, but Mythical Grade items outclass us and will still activate despite our Skill Mechanics.”

The Two Headed Dragon’s explanation prompted Lu Fan to nod.

His understanding of so-called ‘Mechanics Level’ remained incomplete, though he could vaguely grasp the underlying principles.

This concept was actually quite straightforward to comprehend.

To simply put it, the Dragons’ power was far too overwhelming, vastly exceeding that of Kage Tenshi and his companions.

If such mighty beings could not truly kill Kage Tenshi, that would be utterly absurd. Therefore, this world possessed a Mechanics Level System to maintain mutual restraint.

Lu Fan had previously faced an opponent from Extremistis Country called Jin Chenghan.

This individual could continuously resurrect by summoning Abyss Summons, making him virtually impossible to kill.

Later, Lu Fan had utilised Dragon Domain to sever the connection between Jin Chenghan and his Abyss Summons, finally managing to eliminate him.

Jin Chenghan’s Skill Mechanics had been exceptionally troublesome, essentially making him nearly unkillable. Yet if he encountered a Giant Dragon, would the Dragon be unable to kill him?

That would be impossible.

A single Skill from a Giant Dragon would still result in Jin Chenghan’s death, regardless of any resurrection abilities he possessed. They simply would not be activated.

The reason lay in the Giant Dragon’s superior Mechanics Level.

When a Giant Dragon’s Skill determined that person got killed, death was basically announced, and the resurrection Skills simply would not function.

This was not limited to Skills; even someone like Murong Sheng, a Level 119 Quasi-Fifth Profession Player who had touched the threshold of Divine Power, able to influence Map Mechanics, possessed the ability to directly kill Jin Chenghan.

The power gap between Jin Chenghan and Murong Sheng was not significantly greater than that between Kage Tenshi and the Two Headed Dragon.

Therefore, once the Two Headed Dragon’s Skill landed and killed Kage Tenshi, even if Kage Tenshi and his companions might possess a Skill or item to resurrect, they still could not be triggered. Death was a certainty for them.

This was precisely why Kage Tenshi had feared Giant Dragons so intensely.

Regardless of circumstances, the Two Headed Dragon could confirm that Kage Tenshi and his companions were indeed dead, with absolutely no possibility of resurrection. Their only chance of survival would have been possessing Mythical Grade Resurrection Items.

However, Resurrection Items were already extremely rare, and Mythical Grade Resurrection Items…

Forget Mythical Grade Resurrection Items, even Mythical Grade items in general were likely beyond Kage Tenshi’s reach.

Therefore, Kage Tenshi’s death was an absolute certainty. Lu Fan had no reason for concern.

After understanding everything, Lu Fan felt completely at ease.

With this, the problem with Kage Tenshi had been resolved.

Beyond Kage Tenshi, the Lightning Waterfall Overcast had also completely annihilated all the forces outside. Thus, no outsiders remained on Shadow Isle.

Also, Cherry Blossom Country’s premier elites had been utterly decimated on Shadow Isle. One could say that Cherry Blossom Country likely possessed no remaining power to resist.

Han Ke and the others had witnessed quite a spectacular performance, leaving them thoroughly satisfied.

However, more important matters awaited their attention, which was clearing the battlefield.

With so many people killed, the contents of their Inventories would surely be worth a fortune.

Though these spoils of war might have suffered damage during combat, a thorough search should still yield a considerable amount.

These individuals had all been Cherry Blossom Country’s strongest. Their Inventories undoubtedly contained numerous valuable items.

The girls were naturally excited to undertake this task of clearing the battlefield.

This was far simpler than running Dungeon Instances. This required no combat whatsoever while offering them rich rewards.

Since these people had all been Cherry Blossom Country’s elite, one need not guess that their Inventory contained substantial treasures.

Han Ke, not being a Combat Specialised Profession, could not bear to see too many corpses, so the battlefield clearing naturally fell to Jian Ying and the other girls.

As Jian Ying and the others set out to sweep the battlefield, Lu Fan did not remain idle either.

For him, he too had a particular battlefield requiring his attention.

Though ordinary spoils of war held no appeal to Lu Fan, Kage Tenshi and his companions had indeed brought him substantial gifts: twelve warships!
