Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 667, Another Ancient God?

“Consider it my Mission Rewards.” Lu Fan smiled. “Speaking of this, I really am quite fortunate. If I didn’t possess a Territory, and also have the Starry Sky Dragon King, trying to complete the Mission and bring them out from the Valley of Life would not have been so easy.”

Speaking of this, Lu Fan suddenly said, “By the way, you still don’t know about everything that has happened in the Dragon Domain, right?”

The Devouring Dragon King replied. “Of course. When I regained consciousness, I discovered you had already brought the Life Dragon King here. I imagine quite a lot must have happened in Dragon Domain’s Valley of Life?”

“En.” Lu Fan nodded, then told the Devouring Dragon King everything that had transpired.

After finishing, Lu Fan’s tone grew heavy as he asked. “Do you have any clues about that thing in the Valley of Life? So many Eternal Phase Giant Dragons had died at its hands. It must certainly have an extraordinary background.”

The Devouring Dragon King fell silent for a while, then said. “Monsters composed entirely of purplish black fibrous bodies, and they’re not actual life forms. I truly haven’t seen this sort of thing before. But, regarding its identity, I think you should have some suspicions, no?”

“An Ancient God?” Lu Fan asked tentatively.

The Devouring Dragon King nodded. “Yean, that was most likely an Ancient God. Moreover, this Ancient God has awakened to a substantial degree. The Divine Bone that you and I eliminated before simply cannot be compared to it.”

Lu Fan drew a sharp breath in his heart.

He had not expected that the Dragon Domain’s upheaval truly came from an Ancient God. Furthermore, it was an Ancient God that had not fully awakened, just has awakened to a substantial degree.

Speaking of Ancient Gods, Lu Fan still felt lingering fear even now.

Although Divine Bone was weak, ultimately it had not fully awakened before emerging, which was why it could be eliminated.

But Ancient Gods were existences that were inherently terrifying.

That Ancient God in the Far North had always been a shadow hanging over Lu Fan’s heart.

And now, there was actually another suspected Ancient God that had invaded the Dragon Domain, causing hundreds of Rootless Dragons under the Life Dragon King to die violent deaths!

This Ancient God’s capabilities were evident!

“Then do you know what Ancient God this is, what abilities it has, and what its current strength is equivalent to in terms of Levels?” Lu Fan immediately asked.

The Devouring Dragon King replied in a casual tone. “Oh please. There are 32 Ancient Gods in total. That’s not a small number. At the same time, they are powerful and mysterious. Information about them has always only been recorded in ruins.”

“I’m not a Time Dragon that can shuttle through the long river of history, surveying the endless torrents of time. How could I possibly have an in depth understanding of every Ancient God? Even for the number of Ancient Gods, this is something I only heard through hearsay. Whether there really are 32 of them, or if there are more than this, I have no way to confirm; let alone determining which Ancient God it is from your description alone.”

Hearing these words, Lu Fan could not help but feel disappointed.

Clearly, even the Devouring Dragon King did not know much about the Ancient Gods.

Perhaps Ancient Gods were inherently something that existed beyond the Mechanisms of this world, even more terrifying than the Dragon Race.

Only some extremely powerful Eternal Phase Dragon Kings would have the qualifications to compete with the Ancient Gods.

Although the Devouring Dragon King was also an Eternal Phase Dragon King, the varieties of Dragons she had devoured were not numerous, and her strength was not superior to that of ordinary Dragon Kings.

Perhaps only if she could truly devour all varieties of Dragons and become the so-called ‘King of All Dragons’ could she challenge the Ancient Gods.

The current Ancient Gods, especially this Ancient God capable of turning the Valley of Life into a land of catastrophe, was definitely not an existence that the Devouring Dragon King could handle.

No matter what, the question of what existence had made the Valley of Life like this still could not be determined for now.

They could only temporarily attribute all of this to an Ancient God.

After all, only Ancient Gods would have the strength to slaughter so many Giant Dragons.

Seeing that he could not get more information from the Devouring Dragon King, Lu Fan simply stopped enquiring further.

He took out the four Dragon Scales, toying with them in his hands for a moment, then suddenly smiled and asked the Devouring Dragon King. “Speaking of this, how is your recovery coming along? Now that I have four Dragon Scales, I am able to summon four Eternal Phase Giant Dragons to fight for me. Adding you, I have five trump cards in hand. I just don’t know how your strength compares to those four. If I encounter danger, should I summon you or them?”

“You… You sure are quite calculative!” The Devouring Dragon King snorted coldly, but still answered Lu Fan. “My recovery is going well, but I’m still not completely healed yet. If I am fully recovered, those four Dragons combined would not be my match. They’d just become lunch. After all, I’m a Dragon King. Compared to ordinary Giant Dragons, I’m much stronger than them. But right now, my strength should be roughly equal to theirs.”

As if feeling this question had damaged her dignity, the Devouring Dragon King added: “But, give me some more time for my injuries to heal, and my strength will far exceed theirs.”

Lu Fan nodded after hearing this. “According to what you’re saying, if I encounter danger, summoning you and summoning the other four Dragons would have the same effect?”

“Their Dragon Scales can be infinitely renewed, but I only have two more chances for you to fight for me. It seems like when I encounter danger in future, I should summon those four first, while I let you recover. When you heal up a bit more, if I encounter an Ancient God, then I can let you take action.”

“Hey!” The Devouring Dragon King immediately became displeased. “Though that may be true, don’t rely on having me around to go provoking Ancient Gods! Although I’m confident in my own strength, I don’t want to cross swords with those things.”

“An Ancient God who has awakened to a substantial degree possesses terrifying strength that simply cannot be measured by Levels alone. If someday I’m summoned over only to discover the opponent is an Ancient God that has awakened to a substantial degree, don’t blame me for being rude to you!”

Lu Fan smiled. “Don’t worry, I’m not a fool. I wouldn’t actively provoke such dangerous existences.”

“That’s more like it.” The Devouring Dragon King knew that Lu Fan was not an idiot either, and felt relieved once he said that.

Lu Fan had nothing more to say and planned to find a way to return to the Western Border.

But just at this moment, a strange fluctuation emanated from his body.

A stream of black gas rose from him, condensing into an illusory gate in mid-air.
