Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 665, An Unexpected Joy

Translator: Silavin

After the Life Dragon King became a Territory Master Monster of Shadow Isle, her roots beneath her feet drove straight into the soil, appearing as though she intended to take root here permanently.

“You Humans have a saying, ‘would you refuse a toast, only to drink in forfeit?’ Well then, I shall choose to take root here.” The Life Dragon King said while establishing her roots. “Most of the time, I will be in a state of slumber. You needn’t concern yourselves with me. Simply regard me as a large tree. Oh, and while I sleep, I shall release considerable Life Essence. This Life Essence has many uses. For instance, it can heal wounds and provide modest Attribute Enhancement. Also, for the Players and the Monsters on this island, it can also provide some Experience Points for Levelling Up.”

Lu Fan was overjoyed upon hearing this. “You mean to say that as long as you’re here, we can Level Up without needing to kill Monsters? And simultaneously, the Monsters that spawn on the island will also have an increase in Level!?”

The Life Dragon King replied. “Indeed. I’ve sensed that the Monsters here should be around Level 90. With me present, I should be able to help them reach Level 100 quite rapidly.”

“As for that friend of yours from earlier. She appears to be only in her Level 30s, correct? Players absorb my Life Essence more slowly, but within a month’s time, raising her to around Level 40 should not pose any issues.”

Lu Fan calculated that if his Auntie could reach Level 40 within a month, this Levelling speed would already be beyond remarkable.

While it could not compare to the speed of being personally Carrying her through daily Dungeon Instance runs, it would certainly be far superior to grinding in the Wilderness.

More importantly, this was Experience Points gained while lying down. She need not do anything whatsoever. Just living and breathing here would increase her Level.

If one wished, a Player could remain here daily, eating, drinking, enjoying the sea breeze, taking in ocean views, doing some fishing, and occasionally soaking in the Fortune Glowing Spring. Yet, their Levelling speed would be no weaker than those frantically grinding day and night.

If others knew Levelling could be this simple, they would certainly spit blood in frustration.

As for Levelling Up the island’s Monsters, that was even more preposterous.

Originally, Shadow Mist combined with Shadow Isle’s Monsters already made this a Forbidden Zone for Level 90 Fourth Profession Players.

If the Life Dragon King could further enhance the Monsters’ Levels, would this not make the whole island’s Monster defences even stronger?

Moreover, when Monsters reached even Higher Levels, the corresponding Experience Points gained from hunting them would also increase.

From a certain perspective, Shadow Isle was also Lu Fan’s hunting ground. Who would not want the Monsters in their hunting ground to become stronger?

Originally, Lu Fan had merely wanted the Life Dragon King and the other four Giant Dragons to remain on Shadow Isle, helping him guard his Territory.

Yet the Life Dragon King could actually provide such tremendous benefits to Shadow Isle. This was truly an unexpected boon.

A Night Terror Mission Reward in exchange for the Life Dragon King’s residence on Shadow Isle. This was too good of a deal!!

Moreover, what left Lu Fan even more pleasantly surprised was yet to come.

As the Life Dragon King continued establishing her roots, she seemed to have reached the Fortune Glowing Spring Source.

Having absorbed some of Fortune Glowing Spring’s power, she expressed great amazement and continued. “The Spiritual Spring water in your Territory is truly precious. Even in the Dragon Domain, few of such Spiritual Springs could be found. This spring water provides me with a considerable supply of Life Force. If I absorb half of what the Spirit Spring outputs, I should be able to produce one Life Fruit each year.”

“The Life Fruit is of Legendary Grade in its first phase, allowing living beings to live a second life. When it develops to its second phase, it can even nurture new Rootless Dragons.”

“Dragon Tamer, since this Life Fruit forms by absorbing the spring water from your Territory, how to use it shall be up to you. But I do have one requirement: out of every ten Life Fruit produced over ten years, you must reserve one for me to nurture into a new Rootless Dragon.”

Speaking thus, the Life Dragon King gazed at the four Giant Dragons beside her and deeply sighed. “Alas, in the past, my Valley of Life housed at most 237 children, yet now only four remain. I still hope this place can become like my former Valley of Life, vibrant with life.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Fan hastily expressed. “I too hope you can flourish more abundantly. Rest assured, unless there are special circumstances, I won’t harvest the Life Fruits. I’ll let them transform into Giant Dragons whenever possible.”

[What a joke! Although a Life Fruit might be a Legendary Grade item, how could it compare to the importance of Giant Dragons!!? One year, one Life Fruit! That means within a year’s time, one new Baby Dragon could be produced!]

Though he did not know how long it took for a Life Fruit to be cultivated into a Giant Dragon, Lu Fan naturally would not act with such short-sightedness.

If the Life Fruits could become a Baby Dragon, the Baby Dragon’s value would naturally be higher.

As for what Lu Fan needed to sacrifice, it was merely half of Fortune Glowing Spring’s water.

For Lu Fan, this was insignificant.

The Fortune Glowing Spring was not meant for drinking, but for soaking. With half of the spring water left, he only needed to make the hot spring pool half the size!

As long as Fortune Glowing Spring could continuously produce water, Lu Fan would essentially suffer no loss whatsoever.

Seeing that Lu Fan had no objections to any of her actions and even said he would try to ensure as many Rootless Dragons as possible would be born, the Life Dragon King was thoroughly satisfied.

She subsequently indicated that having previously lost too much Life Force, she now needed to enter a dormant state to accumulate Life Force.

With Fortune Glowing Spring present, she believed she could quickly regain her vitality.

When that time came, the Life Essence she released would be even more abundant, and Players and Monsters here would Level Up even faster.

Naturally, before entering slumber, she gave Lu Fan something. It was a freshly condensed Life Fruit.

This was the Life Fruit the Life Dragon King had produced this year. It was already mature and ready for consumption.

Lu Fan could deliver it to the Starry Sky Ancestor, allowing him to live his second life.

Thus, Lu Fan could also complete Starry Sky Ancestor’s Mission.

After accomplishing all this, the Life Dragon King completely fell into dormant state.

Her body gradually straightened, ultimately transforming into an enormous towering ancient tree that even enveloped the entire Shadow Fortress beneath it.

This scenic arrangement was actually great as well. Shadow Fortress had originally seemed rather empty and lacking in vitality.

Now, with a great tree standing here, casting shade below, this place has acquired a distinct charm.

This could now be turned into an internet-famous location for young ladies to take commemorative photographs of.
