Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 247: Fu Luo’s Insider News and Intimidation

Under Fu Luoʼs flexible personality that could bend or stretch as needed, he reconciled with Chen Zhuo on the spot.

”Bro, you never told me you had the connections to get in touch with the big shots from the Free Alliance - weʼre practically family fighting family here!”

”To be honest, Iʼm actually half a Conan fan myself, but the TV series has been putting out too much garbage lately, and the movies keep getting worse than the last, so naturally I love it deeply but criticize it harshly.”

Although Chen Zhuo had initially been worried about Li Nian and ”Zhu Mingʼs” identities, he now couldnʼt help but straighten his back proudly.

”After all, this is the forum - mentioning connections to the Free Alliance would just be asking for trouble, right?”

”Besides, Iʼm a low-key kind of guy. I know someone even more impressive that I havenʼt even mentioned!”

Chen Zhuo waved his hand, putting on a humble appearance.

Li Nian was quite happy to watch this chubby kid using her reputation to show off.

Lin Yu stepped forward, cleared his throat lightly, then looked at Fu Luo.

”Anyway, weʼve revealed our backgrounds to you... Furbollo, Iʼve heard of your reputation too.”
”Even though you just got thoroughly embarrassed by a robot, I know youʼre just not good at combat.”

”This train seems like a Survival and Slaughter type dungeon, but there are actually some mysteries here.”

Before Fu Luo could respond, Wang Yuyang added.

”Iʼve heard of you too. Youʼve done a lot of work for Order.”

”If hearing which organization we belong to makes you not want to work with us, I personally understand.”

Fu Luo coughed lightly: ”How could that be, Brother Designer... Did you see how fast I dropped to my knees? Do I look like someone with that much integrity?”

”This isnʼt a Player Competition dungeon anyway - we can work together to clear it harmoniously, whatʼs wrong with that?”

”Itʼs not like anyone would report me to Order after we get out, right?”

Fu Luo patted his chest as he made this guarantee: ”Everyone rest assured, leave the puzzles to me from now on... Coincidentally, this train probably belongs to Truth Corporation, and I just happen to have plenty of experience with this company!”

Lin Yu also nodded.

”Excellent, letʼs move out then.”

As she spoke, Fu Luo looked confused: ”Huh? Where to?”

Li Nian laughed as she explained: ”While you were battling wits and courage with that useless robot just now, we actually accomplished quite a lot - anyway, weʼre going to find the person most likely to be close to the Mastermind on this train.”

”Someone called ʼBaronʼ.”

Fu Luo froze for a moment, then said: ”Baron? Could it be Truth Corporationʼs ʼBaron Colemanʼ who should have been executed after failing to assassinate the CEO?”

This statement shocked everyone around them.

”You actually know about this?!”

Li Nian was astonished.

”Holy shit, so the forum people were right... Fu... Fuzi, you really do have some skills.”

Chen Zhuo also expressed amazement.

Pan Yuqiang proudly elbowed Wang Yuyang: ”See, I was right to have you save him.”

”Of course, youʼre rarely wrong about these things.”

Only Lin Yu wasnʼt surprised that Fu Luo knew so much about this train.

Back during the Snow Mountain incident, Fu Luo had already revealed that this wasnʼt his first time dealing with Truth Corporation.

Moreover, if you only looked at dungeon experience without considering tier...

Fu Luo was genuinely more experienced than Li Nian - he might have even been around longer than Wang Yuyang and Pan Yuqiang.

But what surprised Lin Yu was...

Even Pang Kedo showed a shocked expression: ”Baron Coleman, I have a newly made friend... no, I should say a friend from when I first joined the company, someone named Jerry Coleman.”

Fu Luo had noticed the NPC in their group earlier. After clearly seeing the ”F-6” and outfit, he frowned and asked: ”Whatʼs your background?”

”Met him in carriage 13, he was in a crazed state before, but we knocked some sense into him and he lost his memory - former field agent for Truth Corporation.”

Lin Yu briefly introduced Pang Kedo.

Pang Kedo also nodded: ”Yes, just call me Pang Kedo.”

Fu Luo remained silent for a while, then said: ”It wouldnʼt be Delta Team, would it?”

Pang Kedo looked surprised: ”How did you know?”

Lin Yu added: ”Although he might not remember, based on his identity card... this guy was the leader of that Delta Team.”

Hearing this, Fu Luoʼs expression grew increasingly grim.

He took off his hat, grabbed his hair, then showed a pained expression.

”Shit... shit! Shit! Weʼre screwed!”

”I should have realized earlier - with three Free Alliance members gathered together, this dungeon definitely wonʼt be simple at all.”

”This isnʼt good, is every Promotion Trial of mine destined to be this fucking ridiculous?!”

Seeing Fu Luoʼs somewhat broken state, Lin Yu stepped forward and gently patted his shoulder.

”This is your Promotion Trial? Never mind... thatʼs not important right now. Just explain first.”

”Whatʼs exactly the situation with Pang Kedo and Baron Coleman?”

Fu Luo looked up, his face miserable: ”Damn it, I already said it - Baron Colemanʼs crime was attempting to assassinate Truth Corporationʼs current CEO.”

”And his accomplice was the leader of Security Departmentʼs Field Operations Delta Team.”

”According to Truth Corporationʼs archives, these two should have died seven years ago!”

”This involves the power struggles at the very top of Truth Corporation... factional conflicts between the highest privileges.”

”And when you reach A-level privileges, you either have combat power comparable to Third Tier, or you can mobilize forces of similar level.”

”Like this Delta Team leader youʼre bringing along - even though his privilege level is C, he underwent the ʼEight Transformationsʼ and is one of the few ʼsuccessful worksʼ from Truth Corporationʼs ʼCalamity Seriesʼ.”

”Someone from this same series once killed a division head of the Marauders!”

Lin Yu remained calm: ”So what? Heʼs on our side now, isnʼt he?”

Pang Kedo nodded: ”Thatʼs right... although assassinating the CEO sounds rather outrageous, Iʼm not crazy.”

”And I believe Coleman isnʼt either - moreover, you said we were accomplices, so perhaps heʼll give me some face.”

Fu Luo shrank back even more: ”No no no, this definitely wonʼt go that smoothly...”

As he spoke, he moved away from Pang Kedo, pulling Lin Yu and Li Nian closer, continuing with a bitter expression in a low voice.

”My current Promotion Trial is to ʼinvestigate the truth behind three wrongful cases on the Despair Trainʼ... believe me, anything involving Promotion definitely wonʼt be simple.”

Back during the Snow Mountain incident, Fu Luo had already revealed that this wasnʼt his first time dealing with Truth Corporation.

”If youʼre really worried, just donʼt investigate,” Lin Yu said calmly. ”Weʼre looking for Baron anyway because we want to quickly figure out how to get the Train Tickets.”

”This train has a variable called the ʼpurgeʼ every 72 hours... waiting around idly might be dangerous too.”

Although Fu Luo jumped at hearing the term ”purge,” he still hesitated.

”This...”

”Stop dawdling already,” Li Nian scolded, then turned to look at Pan Yuqiang. ”Hey, sister, lend me your guy for a bit.”

Pan Yuqiang nodded slightly, and Wang Yuyang slowly walked over.

”What do you need me for?”

Li Nian pointed at Wang Yuyang, once again adopting a fierce expression: ”The introduction earlier was rather rushed, let me properly introduce this Designer whoʼs dating a Psychological Society executioner.”

”He just killed over a dozen people in dining car 3 because he was in a bad mood - the bounty on Huntersʼ Association for him is enough to buy a house in Haicheng!”

”You dropped to your knees in fear when you heard we were from Free Alliance earlier, why are you hesitating now?”

”Are you saying weʼre not as intimidating as Truth Corporation when it comes to throwing down?”
