Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 238: An Assassin from the Psychology Society, and S-Rank Potential

”Let me introduce everyone—this is our ʼDesignerʼ from the ʼFree Alliance.ʼ You can call him Brother Wang.”

”Brother Wang, this is ʼZhu Mingʼ that I mentioned to everyone before... The chubby guy next to her is mine and Zhu Mingʼs employer. We took a job to carry him through this dungeon.”

Li Nian introduced both sides. The man called Brother Wang, whose official code name was ʼDesigner,ʼ turned the pasta pot to low heat and greeted Lin Yu and Chen Zhuo.

”Hello, Zhu Ming. Iʼve heard A Nian mention you a few times. I look forward to the day you officially join us.”

”My real name is Wang Yuyang. You can call me by my name directly.”

”Like Li Nian, Iʼm at the ʼSecond Tier.ʼ”

Wang Yuyang spoke, clearly another powerhouse who didnʼt particularly care about hiding his true identity.

Then he looked at Chen Zhuo, thought for a moment, and said: ”Hmm, you should lose some weight.”

Chen Zhuo was completely thrown off by Wang Yuyangʼs blunt statement.

The other party wasnʼt attacking or teasing—it was a sincere suggestion without any malice.
So although Chen Zhuo was somewhat bewildered, he still nodded.

”Ah? Oh! Okay!”

Li Nian said with a giggle: ”Thatʼs just how Brother Wang is—heʼs quite disciplined.”

”Those who enter the ʼDeath Gameʼ are all people who donʼt want to die... Since you donʼt want to die, why not choose a healthy lifestyle?”

Wang Yuyang said this as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Lin Yu listened to Wang Yuyangʼs perfectly reasonable statement and sighed inwardly.

”No wonder people who can join the ʼFree Allianceʼ must have something extraordinary about them.”

As they talked, Wang Yuyangʼs pasta finished cooking.

He arranged the pasta on a plate and drizzled it with the sauce he had prepared earlier.

Looking at this exquisite pasta, Li Nian seemed to realize something.

”Oh dear, Brother Wang, you didnʼt bring someone into this dungeon too, did you?”

As Li Nian spoke, Wang Yuyang smiled.

”Of course. As long as I have Team Cards, Iʼll definitely bring her along.”

Hearing this, Lin Yu became curious.

”Sounds like a fixed teammate...”

Li Nian said: ”Exactly. If you see Brother Wang, thereʼs a high probability youʼll also see his girlfriend in the same dungeon.”

Then Li Nian sighed: ”Such sickeningly sweet affection... The main reason I hate encountering couples in dungeons is because Brother Wang is just too awful.”

”Someone like me—a gloomy sewer rat whose profession is the shady ʼThiefʼ—will simply die upon seeing othersʼ happiness.”

Hearing Li Nianʼs words, Lin Yu felt that although the girl was half-joking, there might be some genuine feeling mixed in.

He remembered his first encounter with Li Nian in a dungeon—that was in the God of Changeʼs dungeon [Deadly Quiz].

At that time, Li Nian had been very proactive in facilitating the mutual destruction of that young couple in the dungeon.

Although the main reason was their existing conflicts, and the direct cause was that crow causing problems and sowing discord, Li Nian had still somewhat contributed as an accomplice who added fuel to the fire.

However, Wang Yuyang seemed quite accustomed to Li Nianʼs resentful words.

”Although itʼs mostly happiness, I do have my worries too... Yuqiangʼs identity is rather special, as you well know.”

Wang Yuyang spoke calmly. Li Nian sighed.

”Thatʼs true too...”

Then she suddenly realized something, looked at Lin Yu, and revealed a very sneaky smile.

”Hehe, did you know, dear Miss Zhu Ming...”

”Brother Wangʼs girlfriend is from the ʼPsychological Society.ʼ”

Hearing those four words—ʼPsychological Societyʼ—Lin Yu immediately froze.

”What?”

He had just been watching Li Nian and Wang Yuyang chat while observing the internal dynamics of the ʼFree Alliance.ʼ

But who would have thought... a member of the ʼPsychological Societyʼ would suddenly appear?!

The ʼFree Allianceʼ was truly too free—its members actually included someone dating a person from the ʼPsychological Societyʼ!

And even if the ʼFree Allianceʼ was relatively loose, was something like this even allowed on the ʼPsychological Societyʼ side?

But before Lin Yu could process this, Wang Yuyang spoke with some surprise.

”Oh? Do you also have some history with the ʼPsychological Societyʼ?”

”More than just history,” Lin Yu said with a fake smile, ”Itʼs deeply rooted and endlessly connected.”

He spoke softly. Wang Yuyang nodded and spoke again.

”Oh, I see... But Yuqiang is an independent operative in the Execution Department. She doesnʼt have deep connections with the main Psychological Society and has relatively high autonomy.”

Seeming to sense that Lin Yu had grievances with the ʼPsychological Society,ʼ Wang Yuyang offered this explanation.

Hearing this introduction, Lin Yu actually found it more familiar.

”Excuse me, what is your girlfriendʼs profession?”

Before Wang Yuyang could answer, Li Nian burst out laughing.

”Zhu Ming, youʼve hit the nail on the head... His girlfriend is an ʼAssassinʼ!”

ʼPsychological Society,ʼ Execution Department, ʼAssassin,ʼ female gender...

With all these elements combined, Lin Yuʼs expression changed slightly, and he was ready to turn and run immediately.

Although he was currently using the combined false identity of ”Xia Yue” and ”Zhu Ming”...

Meeting that crazy woman in a dungeon with his current identity probably wasnʼt a good option either.

But before Lin Yu could execute his escape plan, Wang Yuyangʼs voice sounded.

”Yuqiang—the pasta is ready.”

As he spoke, an immediate response came from the middle of the carriage.

”Coming!”

A lively female voice sounded. Then, from behind the dining car booth, a sweet-looking, adorable young girl emerged from a pile of corpses.

She showed several torn pieces of paper in her hand and said somewhat regretfully: ”I only found about five fragments of ʼTrain Ticketsʼ—not even enough to piece together half a ticket.”

As she spoke, she briskly crossed half the carriage to stand before Wang Yuyang while checking out the newcomers Lin Yu and his group.

”I overheard your conversation just now... Nice to see you again, A Nian.”

”And... Zhu Ming and employer boy, right?”

The girl smiled and nodded politely, her words warm and friendly like a spring breeze.

Looking at her, Lin Yu openly let out a long sigh of relief.

”Although I knew it was impossible... Actually seeing itʼs not that person is such a relief after all.”

The girl looked puzzled: ”Huh? Why would you say that?”

Li Nian couldnʼt help but laugh: ”This guy was probably worried just now that it might be ʼFluoxetineʼ popping out—since Fluoxetine almost killed her before.”

Hearing this, the girl looked somewhat embarrassed: ”Ah, is that so... Then Senior Fluoxetine was really too much. Iʼll scold her for you if I get the chance.”

”But Iʼm definitely not Fluoxetine. My code name in the ʼPsychological Societyʼ is ʼCitalopram,ʼ and my rank in the Execution Department is only B-level...”

”Of course, since youʼre Yuyangʼs friend, you can just call me by my name—Pan Yuqiang.”

Lin Yu nodded.

Although she wasnʼt Fluoxetine herself, which relieved him.

But facing a member of the ʼPsychological Society,ʼ he didnʼt dare be careless.

Wang Yuyang spoke again: ”You were almost killed by ʼFluoxetineʼ? For that guy to personally take action, you must have some exceptional qualities.”

”A Nian, why didnʼt you mention this before?”

Li Nian shrugged: ”To be honest, I only found out a few days ago and havenʼt had time to tell you yet.”

Pan Yuqiang seemed to remember something: ”Hey, wait a moment... I think I saw you in the Execution Departmentʼs internal documents.”

”Youʼre that S-level potential newcomer who failed to become a ʼPlayerʼ!”
