Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 201: Rescue Operation, The Tycoon Makes a Move

In the middle of the night, as Lin Yu lay on the narrow single bed in his room conceptualizing new ”characters” and ”scripts,” the gloomy clouds that had hung over the city for most of the day finally released a drizzling rain in the deep night.

Raindrops shattered against the window panes, pushed by the night wind, reflecting the dim glow of street lights outside.

On the other end of Jiangcheng, shrouded by this night rain, in a budget hotel located in the southern part of the city, High Mountain of Order stood before a window facing similarly rain-streaked glass, pressing the answer button on his buzzing phone with a heavy heart.

Li Huaʼs voice came through.

On the other end of Jiangcheng, shrouded by this night rain, in a budget hotel located in the southern part of the city, High Mountain of Order stood before a window facing similarly rain-streaked glass, pressing the answer button on his buzzing phone with a heavy heart.

”Iʼve confirmed it... this is indeed the Maraudersʼ stronghold.”

”Knowing this gives us significant strategic advantage.”

Hearing this, High Mountain let out a breath but found no joy in it.

”This isnʼt my accomplishment, it has nothing to do with me...”

”It was the Doctor from my squad, May, who sent back this information.”
As he spoke, he unconsciously clenched his fist.

On the phone, Li Hua immediately detected something amiss.

”May sent the information... whatʼs going on?”

”As Mayʼs squad captain, why do you seem unaware of his whereabouts?”

Li Huaʼs voice turned serious.

High Mountainʼs voice carried shame as he hesitated: ”I...”

Just that single wordʼs tone was enough for Li Hua to make his judgment.

”High Mountain, donʼt speak. Let me guess.”

”Has May encountered some danger? And this danger prevents you from reporting it to us?”

Li Hua asked calmly. High Mountain gripped the phone tightly, offering no response.

But silence was answer enough for Li Hua.

Li Hua exhaled over the phone.

”I understand...”

”Now, I order you in my capacity as Hai City Game Master of Order and East China Regional Director to report your squadʼs situation and Mayʼs circumstances to me!”

”I will coordinate with Jiangcheng Game Master and Order Honorary Member Tycoon to provide your squad with the highest level of support and assistance—regardless of what consequences your report may bring, I will bear all responsibility!”

”You only need to execute my orders and answer my questions!”

Li Hua spoke with determined tone. High Mountain paused for a moment before immediately responding.

”Understood!”

Li Huaʼs words acted like a calming pill, instantly reassuring High Mountain.

Although the situation hadnʼt changed, High Mountain suddenly realized...

They were Order!

The Free Alliance might be terrifying, but...

This was still Orderʼs territory, and they were the strongest organization.

High Mountain quickly composed himself and calmly reported the afternoonʼs events in detail.

His own mistakes, Lin Yuʼs decisiveness...

High Mountain held nothing back in his report.

Soon, after listening to High Mountainʼs report, Li Hua pondered for a few seconds before responding.

”Youʼre saying he was taken by Free Alliance members they encountered by chance?”

”But for some reason... heʼs now revealed the Maraudersʼ stronghold?”

High Mountain nodded.

”Correct. I suspect Free Alliance and Marauders might have secretly allied, but if thatʼs true, then May could be in real danger!”

”Maybe Free Alliance wonʼt kill him for some strange reason, but if he reaches Maraudersʼ territory or gets handed over to Marauders by Free Alliance... then his chances are slim.”

High Mountain couldnʼt help expressing his concerns.

”I understand,” Li Hua said quickly, ”Tycoon and I are currently near the Maraudersʼ stronghold—weʼll infiltrate to investigate.”

”The Soul Gold Brooch isnʼt sensing anything, but its last appearance seems to have been in this area.”

”Notify the other squad captains to be ready for reinforcement at any time.”

Li Hua spoke before ending the call.

High Mountain clutched his phone, the self-blame and worry in his heart somewhat alleviated but not completely gone.

Soon, after listening to High Mountainʼs report, Li Hua pondered for a few seconds before responding.

He looked at that three-word text message, unable to suppress his anxiety.

A young man brave and righteous enough to send intelligence under dangerous circumstances, however hastily...

Even though he wasnʼt officially an Order member yet, in High Mountainʼs heart, he already considered him a comrade and colleague.

High Mountain absolutely didnʼt want anything bad to happen to him!

He looked out the window where continuous fine rain and dark, low clouds enveloped all of Jiangcheng in damp darkness.

The wide river flowing through the city seemed to connect with the sky through this rain, filled with a sense of ominous foreboding.

Though without evidence...

This rainy night seemed intimately connected with bloodshed and death.

Meanwhile, standing before the aged cargo ship, Li Hua held a large transparent umbrella and quietly put away his phone.

Tycoon, standing beside him in a plastic raincoat, grinned.

”Inflitration, Brother Li Hua, thatʼs not really my specialty.”

He had been standing next to Li Hua and heard the entire conversation with High Mountain.

Li Hua smiled.

”Just comforting that squad captain from Henan Province,” he sighed. ”The person is still alive anyway. Hesitant, overly cautious infiltration might actually create danger.”

”Gambling with someone elseʼs life doesnʼt seem like your style,” Tycoon stretched lazily. ”Though I plan to follow your lead, youʼll need to convince me.”

Li Hua adjusted his glasses and spoke calmly.

”You know me, Brother He. I never gamble blindly.”

”I just calculated the probabilities. The chance that storming this place right now would get May May killed is infinitely close to 0%.”

Tycoon laughed.

”So thatʼs how it is! Now Iʼm reassured!”

Li Hua nodded: ”Yes, so next I plan to go all out—please lend me your assistance, Brother He. I know your interventions come at great cost, but... consider me in your debt.”

Hearing this, Tycoon smiled: ”Is it Gambler Li Hua who owes me, or Order Regional Director Li Hua? Or perhaps Hai City Li Familyʼs Third Young Master Li Hua who owes me?”

Li Hua responded seriously: ”All of them.”

Tycoon raised his eyebrows in surprise: ”Oh? You think that highly of that kid!”

Then he waved his hand.

”Iʼm joking. Letʼs not calculate debts between us too carefully, since you called me ʼBrother Heʼ after all.”

”Besides, Free Alliance and Marauders dare to openly ally in my territory and kidnap Order members...”

Tycoon raised his hand, and the air filled with clinking metallic sounds.

Like coins pouring down, a glint of golden light sparked at his fingertips.

Simultaneously, a hint of ferocity emerged in Tycoonʼs tone.

”I never planned to let them off anyway!”
