Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 245: Meeting Another Acquaintance!

Regardless of what Chen Zhuo told the amnesiac Pang Kedo, whether it would shake this conveniently forgetful uncleʼs worldview, or what chain reactions it might cause in this dungeon world in the future...

At least for now, everything remained normal.

For Lin Yu, the more pressing question worth pondering was...

”Heʼs not in carriage six either?”

Looking at the group of burly, robust men tied up in a line in carriage six, currently being searched by Pang Kedo for any valuable items, Lin Yu expressed his amazement.

The Lion Gang entrenched here lived up to their name—a group of physically imposing men.

Their strength seemed far superior to other gangs, and consequently their tempers appeared more explosive too—upon seeing someone enter carriage six, they immediately cursed with some colorful Tibetan phrases and started fighting.

They didnʼt even seem particularly afraid of Pang Kedo.

And then...

Perhaps this ”Lion Gang” genuinely had some capability, enough that ordinary players might meet their end if they encountered them.
But in this current dungeon, there were already three Second-Tier players present.

These NPCs had struggled to survive just a few purges on this Despair Train, while the playersʼ clearance condition was about how to escape this ”train.”

So throughout the entire process, not even Chen Zhuo who had hired help needed to intervene, let alone Lin Yu, Pan Yuqiang, or even Pang Kedo.

Even Li Nian only stepped in because she felt like taking down a couple of people for fun.

Wang Yuyang basically handled everything by himself.

This was also the first time Lin Yu had seen how Wang Yuyang, the Designer, fought.

Although he resolved the battle so quickly that Lin Yu couldnʼt see clearly.

But Lin Yu still caught the general method.

Wang Yuyang was ”creating objects” out of thin air—he simply reached out his hand, and a process resembling 3D printing would manifest some weapon in the air.

Earlier he had sequentially used three different weapons: a short staff, a flail, and brass knuckles, each used only briefly.

Unlike the Painter, Wang Yuyangʼs process didnʼt even require any medium or wind-up time.

This didnʼt belong to any known Class ability that Lin Yu was aware of.

If it were a [prop], then this thing must be an extremely rare and precious type—likely one with ”notes” and ”descriptions.”

But Lin Yu still leaned toward Wang Yuyang currently using his Class ability.

Earlier when he introduced himself and when Li Nian introduced him, neither had mentioned his Class.

And his code name was Designer—among known ordinary Classes, this Class didnʼt exist.

And within the Free Alliance, the code names they used seemed mostly related to their own Classes.

So...

”Probably another Unique Class? No wonder the Free Alliance, despite having few members, receives such attention from both Order and the forum.”

Lin Yu reached his conclusion.

Of course, regardless of what Wang Yuyangʼs class was, the most important matter at hand remained the whereabouts of the final player.

”Heʼs not in carriage six, which means he either happened to miss us by going to a different dining car at different times, or he never went to any dining car at all...”

Wang Yuyang mused, and Pan Yuqiang understood what her boyfriend was thinking: ”Could he be deliberately avoiding us?”

”Very likely.”

Wang Yuyang nodded.

Li Nian rubbed her chin: ”A lone wolf type? If nothing works, just let him go solo!”

”Donʼt you have any tracking methods?”

Lin Yu asked curiously.

Wang Yuyang and Li Nian shook their heads simultaneously.

”I donʼt have any.”

Li Nian scratched her head: ”I do have ʼpeople-findingʼ methods, but in this kind of compartmentalized space with separate carriages, theyʼre not very effective.”

”If nothing works, we could contact Baron and ask for his help. Although further showing weakness might be excessive, if we really want to find him, we could try...”

Pan Yuqiang also analyzed.

Chen Zhuo sighed regretfully: ”Ah, itʼs really a case of ʼyou never appreciate props until you need them.ʼ Someone was selling me a [Life Detection Radar] earlier, but I thought what use could that thing be selling for 300 points each, so I didnʼt buy it.”

Then, an unexpected voice spoke up.

One of the Lion Gang members on the ground spoke up timidly.

”Um... are you looking for someone who just boarded the train?”

”The one who boarded at carriage five?”

Although limited by cognitive interference, he basically couldnʼt understand what these experts were saying...

But he didnʼt find it strange—given his background as a bottom-tier enforcer from Sleepless City, basically half-illiterate, encountering experts saying things he couldnʼt understand was perfectly normal.

Before Lin Yu could signal, Pang Kedo stopped searching and walked over to the Lion Gang man.

”You have information?”

”Yes, yes,” the man nodded like pounding garlic, ”We saw the newcomer board earlier. Although carriages 7 and 8 didnʼt have anyone, according to our previous agreement with the Airport Gang, when both 4 and 5 have people, carriage 5 can belong to us.”

”So we were just rubbing our hands together waiting for the newcomer in carriage five to pass the first two ʼchallenges,ʼ then weʼd go ask the Airport Gang for passage.”

”Once a newcomer passes the first few rounds, the dining car screen will show which carriage can now enter to fight the newcomer.”

The Lion Gang man lifted his chin, indicating the screen.

Pang Kedo gritted his teeth and rubbed his temples: ”Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember something like this procedure.”

”Yes, but we waited until you arrived, and still didnʼt get the carriage five notification. Carriages 4 and 13 finished up pretty quickly though.”

The Lion Gang man said carefully, clearly having realized these people were the ”newcomers” from carriages 4 and 13.

Lin Yu also caught on.

”So, that person might still be in carriage five?”

”Deliberately controlling the timing?” Wang Yuyang also frowned, ”What a rather elusive fellow. Yuqiang, what do you think?”

Pan Yuqiang shrugged: ”I donʼt have any ideas either, too little information.”

”But it does sound like a very confident expert type... After all, even at our level, the first reaction upon entering a dungeon is ʼrace against timeʼ and ʼgather information.ʼ”

Wang Yuyang nodded: ”Then weʼll have to meet him personally—letʼs go, Iʼm getting interested in this final player too.”

He stood up, a forming long sword materializing in his hand.

”No need to kill these people.”

Pan Yuqiang gently patted Wang Yuyangʼs right hand.

Wang Yuyang softly said ”Oh,” then the mostly-formed long sword in his hand dissipated.

Seeing this scene, Lin Yu couldnʼt help but complain internally.

Leaving the already dejected Lion Gang in the dining car, they returned to dining car 3.

Passing through dining car 4, Lin Yuʼs group stood before the door to carriage 5.

Perhaps because the trial inside carriage 5 hadnʼt ended yet, the connecting door was currently closed.

But this didnʼt stump Lin Yu.

He took out Pang Kedoʼs privilege card and swiped it...

”Beep—”

Sure enough, even just C-2 level privileges were sufficient to open the temporarily sealed carriage door due to the ongoing trial.

Just as the door opened and everyone raised their guard, preparing to meet the final expert inside...

Screams of genuine distress came from within.

”Stop hitting! Brother Robot! Iʼll buy you a battery, okay?”

Hearing this familiar voice, Lin Yu put down his guard with a strange expression.

Looking inside, he indeed saw another acquaintance.

Fu Luo, wearing his straw hat and looking like a foreigner, was jumping around the carriage, being chased in circles by a boxing robot less than half a meter tall.
