Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 669: Chapter 668: The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, Unaware of the Oriole Behind

”What do you want?” Tang Zhen looked at Ye Haochuan with an expression that was almost despairing.

”I remember, just now someone said I should admit defeat and kowtow, or did I remember it wrong?” Ye Haochuan said with interest.

”You...” Tang Zhen’s face flushed with anger, his eyes as round as light bulbs.

Ever since he was young, aside from his parents and master, he had never kowtowed to anyone else. Having to kowtow to Ye Haochuan was more unbearable than killing him.

”You worthless thing! Why aren’t you kowtowing already? Do you think you haven’t lost enough face?” Old Master Kou said somewhat angrily.

Hearing his master’s anger, Tang Zhen, regardless of his reluctance, dared not defy his master’s wishes. He immediately knelt on the ground, banging his head on the floor three times.

”Heh heh, that’s more like it! Remember, a toad will never eat swan meat. So it’s best not to even think about it because it’s just wishful thinking,” Ye Haochuan chuckled.

Upon hearing this, Tang Zhen wished he could find a hole to crawl into, and with a cold snort, he fled as if escaping.

Old Master Kou silently watched Tang Zhen’s retreating back, unable to resist a sigh.

Experiencing some setbacks isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it is hoped that he learns from this experience and changes his arrogant ways. Focus on studying the Medical Path and concentrate on treating and healing people!

”Really, it’s the new waves of the Yangtze River that push the old waves! This old fossil, it seems it’s really my time to step aside,” Professor Huang suddenly said with a bitter smile.

This old guy, he actually has some grace!

Upon hearing this, Ye Haochuan’s opinion of Professor Huang improved significantly, and he smiled, ”Professor Huang is wholeheartedly dedicated to the wellbeing of patients, which is indeed very worthy of being learnt by the younger generation.”

Startled by his words, Professor Huang paused, reading the implication that Ye Haochuan had placed himself among the ranks of the older generation of medical practitioners, quite thick-skinned and endearing indeed.

However, with Ye Haochuan’s superb medical skills, he indeed deserved the reputation of a seasoned doctor.

The thought that Ye Haochuan had cured one of the world’s five major incurable diseases, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, made Professor Huang’s heart itch with curiosity, and he pressed forward with a thick-skinned face, ”Doctor Ye’s medical skills are exquisite and truly admirable. Yet, if such skillful methods are not utilized to their fullest potential, it would be somewhat regrettable.”

Damn, this old fox is clearly targeting me and has the audacity to say it so righteously!

Ye Haochuan was well aware of Professor Huang’s intentions, but pretended to be oblivious and responded with a chuckle, ”Yours Truly Ye has limited talent and knowledge, how dare I discuss medical skills before Professor Huang.”

At these words, Professor Huang’s face suddenly turned sour.

This guy, if he had spoken like this before saving President Li, it could be taken as a compliment. Now, saying such words was clearly naked sarcasm.

Professor Huang chuckled bitterly inside, thinking to himself that Ye Haochuan truly knew how to avoid a loss.

Regaining his composure, Professor Huang continued solemnly, ”Doctor Ye, overcoming Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a terminal illness, is something the entire world eagerly awaits. Now that Doctor Ye has made such a significant breakthrough, it is clearly a blessing for patients worldwide suffering from ALS. Possessing unparalleled medical ethics as you do, I trust you won’t let those suffering from ALS continue to endure their illness...”

A whole lot of official rhetoric that couldn’t be more official, Ye Haochuan rolled his eyes listening to it and hastily interrupted, ”Professor Huang, if you have something to say, please be direct.”

”For the sake of all ALS patients around the world to recover soon, I earnestly request that Doctor Ye shares the treatment prescription with me to study, in hopes of developing an even better medication for treating ALS,” Professor Huang said earnestly.

Damn, this is clearly an attempt to plunder my intellectual property, and this old fox still speaks with such moral integrity!

Ye Haochuan cursed Professor Huang’s cunning inwardly. Initially, he thought the man was broad-minded but now it was clear that the old fox had had other plans from the start.

Indeed, the older the ginger, the spicier it is. With these words, if Ye Haochuan refused, he’d indeed be accused of being selfish.

”This...”

Just as Ye Haochuan was about to find some excuse to stall, Old Master Kou beside him suddenly said, ”Old Huang, why must you play these tricks? You’ve seen for yourself Ye’s medical ethics. Even if you didn’t ask, he would have made this treatment method public to benefit the world. Isn’t that right, Little Ye?”

Ye Haochuan’s face twitched involuntarily upon hearing these words.

God damn, these two old guys really put on a perfect act together. After all they’ve said, could I, young master, possibly refuse?

”Elder Kou is right, this matter is indeed beneficial to the country and the people, I, Ye Haochuan, will certainly not withhold anything!”

Left with no choice, Ye Haochuan eventually took out paper and pen and rewrote the prescription he had just given to Kou Jing, handing it to Professor Huang, ”This is the prescription I just used, as for the treatment method, Professor Huang should have seen it just now.”

This prescription had just been used by Kou Jing to collect the herbs, so it could be checked against hers, making it impossible to fake.

Professor Huang’s face lit up with joy as he received the prescription, smiling, ”I have committed Doctor Ye’s treatment method to heart! Having such a selfless and devoted doctor like you is truly a blessing for our Huaxia!”

Blessing my ass!

Ye Haochuan wished he could peel back Professor Huang’s wrinkled face and see what kind of crafty old fox was hiding inside.

While Ye Haochuan was grinding his teeth in frustration, Professor Huang was ecstatic and immediately took his leave from Elder Kou, saying, ”Old Kou, I can’t wait to get back and study Doctor Ye’s prescription, I must be going now!”

Elder Kou smiled and nodded, having someone see Professor Huang out.

Ye Haochuan watched Professor Huang’s retreating figure and suddenly let out a cold laugh. Mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. This old fox must think he’s hit the jackpot; I bet he never imagined it would all come to nothing in the end.

Indeed, the prescription is genuine, but the precise control of the heat needed to produce Vitality Mud is not something an ordinary person can master. Moreover, during the process of creating Vitality Mud, the influence of Longevity Gang Qi is required. Without Longevity Gang Qi, all that’s produced is a bunch of charred dregs.

”Hahaha, to think that you, Little Ye, have reached such a level in your medical skills. I, an old man, am quite impressed!” After Professor Huang left, Elder Kou heaped praise upon Ye Haochuan.

The guests also understood that with these words, Elder Kou had just confirmed Ye Haochuan as his grandson-in-law.

Just as someone was about to step forward to congratulate Elder Kou on gaining a good grandson-in-law, a commotion suddenly arose from the edge of the crowd.

Curious, everyone looked towards the source of the noise and saw a throng of reporters carrying cameras and holding microphones, pushing rapidly through the crowd.

”I heard someone was cooking a person in a wooden barrel, is that true?” The first reporter to squeeze in asked excitedly.

”Cook my sister! They were treating a patient, okay? Ever heard of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, one of the five major incurable diseases? That Divine Doctor cured it!” a bystander boasted proudly, as if he had been the one to save the patient.

”Can cure one of the five major incurable diseases? You must be joking, right?” the reporter questioned doubtingly.

”I saw it with my own eyes. How could it be fake?” the person said smugly.

”Are you sure you didn’t get it wrong? It really was amyotrophic lateral sclerosis? It’s not just something like the common cold or the flu, right?” the reporter asked incredulously. If incurable diseases could be cured so easily, they wouldn’t be called incurable, right?

”Can’t you speak properly? Are you suggesting I’m blind or deaf? In our Northeast, you’d be easily beaten for talking like that, you know?” the person said angrily.

Seeing that the agitated bystander was a tall and burly man from the Northeast, the reporter silently swallowed his saliva, not daring to say any more, and quickly began to look for the ”Divine Doctor who cooks people.”

When they spotted Elder Kou in the crowd, they rushed over eagerly, bombarding him with questions, ”Elder Kou, could you tell us how you conquered this incurable disease?”

Clearly, Elder Kou had some reputation in Haishan City. As soon as word spread that someone had conquered amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, everyone immediately thought of Elder Kou, known for his medical skills.

Elder Kou awkwardly smiled and said, ”I’m sorry, but it wasn’t me who conquered ALS, it was this Doctor Ye beside me!”

”Doctor Ye?” Only then did the reporters notice Ye Haochuan standing beside Elder Kou. If Elder Kou hadn’t mentioned it, they would have thought Ye Haochuan was just a bodyguard.

”Ye Haochuan? How is it you?” Suddenly, an astonished voice rang out from the group of reporters, taking everyone by surprise.
