Invincible Little School Doctor

Ye Haochuan saw Kou Jing enter the room and walked up to her from behind his desk, gently embracing her, ”My dear wife, what’s troubling you so much? Tell your husband, and I’ll help you solve it.”

Blushing in his embrace, Kou Jing bit her lip and said, ”Haochuan, tomorrow is my grandfather’s eightieth birthday. He asked me to tell you, you must come.”

Old Master Kou’s eightieth birthday?

Ye Haochuan was startled, and it took him a moment to regain his composure. Remembering that he hadn’t seen the old master for a while because of his busy schedule, he smiled and said, ”If my wife commands, how could I not obey?”

”Stop it!” Kou Jing’s pretty face turned red, and she couldn’t help but pinch him.

Ye Haochuan smoothly caught her little hand, but Kou Jing withdrew it, tapping on the back of his hand and huffing, ”There’s something I need to tell you. My grandfather wants to set me up with a boyfriend at the birthday feast tomorrow, so you better watch out.”

What? Set her up with a boyfriend? Does Old Master Kou not take me seriously?

Ye Haochuan felt displeased, holding Kou Jing in his arms, stroking her delicate back, his heart stirred, and he chuckled, ”No worries, no worries, aren’t I your ready-made boyfriend? We’ll just explain it clearly to your grandfather.”

Kou Jing looked up, gazing at Ye Haochuan’s handsome face, ”But you already have Chairman Xiao, and I’m afraid you won’t want me.”

”Silly girl, you are Ye Haochuan’s woman, and I’ll never not want you, what are you thinking about?” Ye Haochuan said, wiping away the tears from Kou Jing’s face.

With a blushing face and shedding her reserve, Kou Jing snuggled into Ye Haochuan’s arms and said shyly, ”Mmm, I won’t think foolish thoughts. Alive, I am yours; dead, I am your ghost.”

Hearing this, Ye Haochun’s heart itched, and he made a playful face while laughing, ”There’s still time, shall we do something meaningful and fun?”

...

The next morning, Ye Haochuan drove to West City Hotel early.

This was the venue for Old Master Kou’s eightieth birthday celebration.

After parking the car, Ye Haochuan saw Kou Jing standing at the entrance.

Today, Kou Jing was wearing a cheongsam, looking exceptionally elegant and beautiful, prompting many guests, both men and women, to take an extra glance or two at her.

The moment Kou Jing saw Ye Haochuan, she immediately approached him and said, ”You’ve finally arrived, Grandpa has been waiting inside for a while.”

”I’ll go right in...” Ye Haochuan smiled and then looked her up and down, ”That cheongsam looks good.”

”How about it? Does it look good?” Kou Jing couldn’t help but ask, seeking his approval.

”It looks good.”

Amid their affectionate teasing, Kou Jing ushered Ye Haochuan into the hotel. The hotel lobby was packed with closely placed dining tables, showing just how many guests had come for Old Master Kou’s birthday feast.

Old Master Kou stood on the stage and, upon seeing Ye Haochuan from a distance, immediately went to greet him personally. This astonished those who were surrounding him with flattery.

”Who is that coming? What’s his status that he warrants Elder Kou personally welcoming him?” asked one of the guests with some standing.

With Elder Kou gone to greet Ye Haochuan, naturally, it was his disciple Tang Zhen who spoke for him.

”He’s just a school doctor,” Tang Zhen replied disdainfully.

”Then why did Old Master Kou personally go to greet him?” someone immediately asked.

The questioner was Yang Gongcheng, a famous medical professor in Haishan City. He attended Elder Kou’s birthday banquet today because he coveted Kou Jing and even aspired to take over Elder Kou’s Security Hall for himself.

”That kid works as a doctor under Jingjing’s supervision and has some skills in his hands. My master cherishes talented individuals, so he feels somewhat close to him. Professor Yang, would you like to test that kid’s medical skills?” Tang Zhen suggested to Yang Gongcheng with hostility.

”No need, who is he but a mere school doctor? Why should he be compared with me?” Yang Gongcheng huffed.

Meanwhile, Elder Kou quickly approached Ye Haochuan and patted him heavily on the shoulder, pretending to criticize, ”You rascal, since we last parted, you haven’t shown your face for so long. Have you come to disdain this old bag of bones?”

The old man still has some strength in him. If I didn’t have a solid foundation in the Martial Arts Path, that slap could have almost made my bones fall apart.

Ye Haochuan was somewhat annoyed, but he replied with a smile, ”Old Master, what are you saying? You are vigorous and resilient in your old age, with an overflowing vitality that has nowhere to be released. Who would dare disdain you? The reason I haven’t visited you is purely that my days are filled with endless tasks, leaving me no time to do so!”

Your mouth, kid, is too cunning!

Elder Kou was amused yet pretended to be displeased, ”Busy? How busy can you be?”

”So busy that... I’m spinning around like a top, not even knowing the year; with a head full of worries and no peace of mind, where can one find the leisure in life, tell me, Elder Kou, how busy do you think I am?” Ye Haochuan recited poetically in jest.

”You scoundrel!” Elder Kou burst into laughter because of Ye Haochuan’s humor.

At that moment, Ye Haochuan took the opportunity to present his birthday gift, a Body-Strengthening Pill, and wished, ”May Elder Kou have fortune as vast as the eastern seas and longevity like the evergreen of the southern mountains. I offer only this Body-Strengthening Pill, may it enhance Elder Kou’s lifespan.”

”Very good...” Elder Kou naturally knew the Body-Strengthening Pill from Ye Haochuan was no ordinary item, and he happily accepted it with a smile that he couldn’t hide.

At that time, a hotel staff member came over to inform Elder Kou, ”Old Master, the birthday banquet is about to begin, please take your seat.”

Elder Kou nodded and said to Ye Haochuan, ”Haochuan, feel free to do as you like here, no need for formalities.”

Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”Don’t worry, Elder Kou, I’m the kind of person who can talk about anything, except being formal.”

Elder Kou again laughed heartily, then left to attend to the banquet.

The birthday banquet officially began.

”We wish Elder Kou fortune as vast as the eastern seas and longevity like the evergreen mountains,” the guests chanted in unison.

With a smile, Elder Kou nodded, ”Thank you all for taking the time to come. Please take your seats.”

After everyone was seated, Elder Kou continued, ”It is rare to live past seventy, and at eighty, one is considered venerably aged. Today, I am honored by your presence at my eightieth birthday. This old man here is truly grateful.”

The guests returned the gesture, expressing their politeness.

After a pause, Elder Kou then said in a clear voice, ”As everyone knows, I have a granddaughter who has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine since she was young. Although she has made some achievements, she is too proud and looks down on others due to her abilities. On this occasion of my birthday, I would like to take this opportunity to challenge the young medical talents present, to teach her that there is always someone better and more knowledgeable. I wonder which of the young talents here would be willing to step forward and test their skills?”

Even though Elder Kou spoke indirectly, Ye Haochuan was inwardly shocked, Damn, what does this old man mean? Why does this sound somewhat like a medical matchmaking proposition? How vulgar, unbearably vulgar!
