Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 663: Chapter 662: Beastmaster

”I beg you, please tell me, why don’t you add plantain seed to your Poria Cocos Acid-Reducing Pills?”

Song Wei dropped his pride and pleaded with Ye Haochuan.

However, deep down he thought, Damn it, let me see what kind of explanation you can give, old boy. If it’s not convincing, I’ll make you regret it!

”Heh, since you’ve asked so earnestly, I will tell you... The patient’s pulse is rapid, indicating that his metabolism is already fast, so Poria Cocos Acid-Reducing Pills with plantain seed are not suitable for him. The medicinal effect of plantain seed would prevent the patient from absorbing the effects of the other herbs in time, so I removed the plantain seed,” Ye Haochuan revealed the crucial point.

Song Wei’s face turned pale; he had not realized that the patient’s metabolism was naturally fast.

”Haha, Doctor Ye’s medical skills are indeed brilliant; Elder Kou admires them,” Old Master Kou spoke, effectively endorsing Ye Haochuan’s explanation.

”Old Master Kou, I dare not accept such praise... However, according to my prescription, I assure you he will recover after three doses,” Ye Haochuan confidently said.

”Alright, I will go back and try it, thank you, Doctor Ye.”

Seeing that even Old Master Kou had spoken, the patient thanked Ye Haochuan profusely before happily taking his leave.

Song Wei knew he was beaten and grunted stubbornly, ”It’s just like a blind cat stumbling upon a dead mouse.”

Ye Haochuan saw Song Wei’s look of dissatisfaction and chuckled, ”If you are so capable, try stumbling upon one yourself. Please, you’re nothing but an armchair strategist with a PhD. I suggest you restrain from practicing medicine in the future, lest you delay a patient’s treatment.”

Song Wei was left speechless by Ye Haochuan’s words, gasping for breath, his face flushed with fury as he stormed off the stage.

”Some PhD in medicine, that’s the extent of his ability!”

”It seems that this campus doctor does have some skill; impressive indeed.”

”Impressive, indeed, with just his inspection diagnosis skills alone, he surpasses the others. Amazing!”

Many in the crowd were whispering to each other both on and off the stage.

At that moment, Old Master Kou announced the results, which was that a portion of the young doctors had not prescribed the right medication.

Suddenly, half of the participants in the competition were eliminated.

Yang Gongcheng, albeit still in the competition, felt somewhat displeased to see that Ye Haochuan was still around; he snorted, ”Don’t get cocky, the real test is coming up.”

Damn! I’ve just scared off a PhD, and now it’s the professor’s turn.

Ye Haochuan chuckled and said to Professor Yang, ”Professor Yang, I’m afraid you’re going to be crying and begging me later.”

At this moment, the next patient had already taken the stage.

The patient was a middle-aged man, clutching his chest and gasping for air, breathing short and weak breaths while his left shoulder and arm trembled slightly.

As the chief disciple of Senior Godly Doctor Kou, Tang Zhen had also made it through this round.

He knew Ye Haochuan’s abilities, so naturally, he didn’t rush forward recklessly. His plan was clear: let Yang Chenggong take on Ye Haochuan first so he could reap the benefits later.

Ye Haochuan had no trouble seeing through Tang Zhen’s intentions. Glancing at Yang Gongcheng, he chuckled, ”Beast, you go check it out first.”

”What, are you scared? Can’t you see what’s wrong with the patient?” Yang Chenggong stepped forward and placed his hand on the patient’s pulse.

”Little Ye, won’t you take a look?” Old Master Kou asked.

”No need, I’ve already said it; I diagnose illnesses just by inspection, without taking the pulse,” Ye Haochuan replied indifferently.

Indeed, as soon as Ye Haochuan finished this sentence, it stirred up a lot of discussion in the room.

Yang Gongcheng, feeling both speechless and curious, thought to himself, Damn it, is this kid showing off too much? Or can he really diagnose the illness just by inspection?

Ye Haochuan, sensing Yang Gongcheng’s skepticism, smiled inwardly and spoke plainly to the middle-aged man, ”Brother, if I’m not mistaken, you have a blockage in your cardiovascular system. Your symptoms include shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, excessive sweating, a feeling of suffocation and chest distention—is that correct?”

”Yes, exactly, I’ve seen many renowned doctors and taken lots of medicine, but nothing has worked,” the middle-aged man said, astonished and delighted with Ye Haochuan’s accurate diagnosis.

Yang Gongcheng felt a chill in his heart. Ye Haochuan was right; the patient’s pulse did indicate cardiovascular blockage. It seemed Ye Haochuan’s medical expertise was genuinely substantial; he could see through the illness without even taking the pulse.

”Have you seen a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner before?” Yang Gongcheng asked, getting ahead of the others.

”I have,” the middle-aged man honestly replied.

”Then I’ll write you a prescription. You take it for a few doses, and you’ll surely be cured,” Yang Gongcheng said eagerly.

He wanted to write the prescription before Ye Haochuan did, as that would help him make a better impression on Old Master Kou.

However, Ye Haochuan appeared utterly indifferent.

”Doctor Ye, do you want to take a look at the prescription I wrote? Any advice? Oh, sorry, I forgot you’re just a school doctor; you might not be able to tell if it’s good or bad,” Yang Gongcheng mocked Ye Haochuan after writing the prescription and putting down his pen.

”There’s no need. Your prescription is just for clearing the blood vessels, modified from the Decoction for Unblocking Heart, with ingredients like Pangolin, Cowcockle, Soap-pod Acacia Spines, Sweetgum Fruit, Chocolate Vine, Sea Buckthorn, roasted Schisandra, and finely ground Anemarrhena, right?” Ye Haochuan said confidently.

”How did you know the ingredients of my prescription?” Yang Gongcheng exclaimed in astonishment.

Ye Haochuan’s face carried a playful smile as he said, ”Not only do I know the ingredients, but I also know that you used 10g of Pangolin, 6g Cowcockle, 7g Soap-pod Acacia Spines, 14g Sweetgum Fruit, 13g Chocolate Vine, 9g Sea Buckthorn, 3g Schisandra, and 10g Anemarrhena. The dosage was set for seven doses, am I right?”

Yang Gongcheng’s face immediately showed confusion.

The prescription Ye Haochuan spoke of, from the ingredients to the dosages, matched exactly what he had prescribed.

Seeing Yang Gongcheng’s expression, the crowd realized that Doctor Ye must be very close to the mark, which made them look at him with even more respect.

However, what Yang Gongcheng did next shocked everyone. He shamelessly said to Ye Haochuan, ”Hmph, even if you got it right, so what? I’ve treated too many patients to count. How do I know you didn’t plagiarize my prescription?”

Plagiarize? Would I need to stoop to plagiarism? Damn, this guy’s face is thicker than I thought, almost as thick as mine!

Ye Haochuan could only laugh at the absurdity and said, ”Boring. Why on earth would I bother plagiarizing your prescription?”

”Isn’t it because my prescription works wonders, curing the illness with the medicine?” Yang Gongcheng arrogantly claimed.

Where does this guy get his confidence from? Absolutely shameless!

Shaking his head, Ye Haochuan retorted, ”Heh, the problem is right there. Your prescription can’t even cure the illness.”

”You’re talking nonsense,” Yang Gongcheng cursed.

At that moment, the patient suddenly spoke up, ”Doctor Yang, do you remember me?”

”Who are you?” Yang Gongcheng looked puzzled.

”I’m Zhang Hualun! I saw you two years ago for treatment. You prescribed these same medicines, and they had no effect on me,” the patient said.

As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding crowd began to murmur among themselves again.

Yang Gongcheng had not anticipated this twist, and his face turned beet red with embarrassment. Unable to contain himself, he yelled out, ”No effect? How could there be no effect? Did you not take them in the doses I prescribed?”

Being faced in front of everyone, where could Yang Gongcheng put his face? He couldn’t help but lash out at the patient named Zhang Hualun. Damn it, who asked him to blabber?

”I...” Before the patient could speak up, he suddenly couldn’t catch his breath and collapsed onto the platform.

Clutching his chest and gasping for air, he was in such sharp pain that cold sweat broke out all over his face.

Yang Gongcheng, who was closest to the patient, was startled. Once he realized what was happening, he immediately began to administer aid.

He opened the patient’s shirt and began pressing on the patient’s chest, performing CPR rapidly.

But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t alleviate the patient’s condition, which was growing increasingly severe.

”Stop wasting your effort. Let me do it!” Ye Haochuan pushed Yang Gongcheng aside, intending to take over the patient’s treatment, and pulled out a Silver Needle from his storage ring.

Yang Gongcheng blocked Ye Haochuan and said, ”Are you crazy? You don’t even know how to take his pulse, and you dare to use needles on him?”

Damn it, and you call yourself a beast? If you keep this up, he’s going to be dead!

Ye Haochuan, fire rising in his voice, shouted back, ”Move aside! Saving a life is like fighting a fire. Let me heal him first.”
