Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 547: Chapter 546 What’s All This?

Thinking of this, Ye Haochuan looked her up and down, chuckled, and said, ”I say, Yingxue, doesn’t your family have fairly good conditions? Why not just convince your family to donate some money to support your charitable work, and that would solve it?”

Su Yingxue’s pretty face reddened, and she seemed a bit embarrassed as she said, ”Brother Ye, what you don’t know is that although my family’s circumstances are good, it’s really all thanks to my uncle’s help. Being able to study at Haishan University and live in the prestigious Building 7 with its many outstanding girls is all due to my uncle’s assistance. I’ve already bothered him with plenty of things; how could I burden him further for the sake of charity?”

Ye Haochuan was as cunning as a monkey and had always been skilled at seeing through people. Noticing her evasive eyes, he immediately sensed that there was more to the story and couldn’t help but say, ”How is that bothering him? Doing charity isn’t something to be embarrassed about; it’s a good deed, an opportunity to accumulate merit!”

Su Yingxue bit her lip, looking as though she had more to say but hesitant to continue.

Ye Haochuan became increasingly curious and laughed, ”What’s going on? Just tell me. What, are you afraid I’ll spill your secret?”

”No, no, that’s not it...” Su Yingxue waved her hands and finally said with resignation, ”It’s like this, mainly I don’t want to overly trouble my uncle, to prevent my aunt from getting the wrong idea and causing discord between them.”

”Aha...” Ye Haochuan suddenly understood, thinking to himself no wonder this girl was reluctant to turn to her uncle—it was for fear of her aunt’s displeasure.

”Actually, my aunt already made a big concession over my studying at Haishan University. She voluntarily took on all my tuition and living expenses. If I were to make excessive demands, like asking my uncle to donate money to charity, it would only cause tension between my aunt and my uncle. So, I want to rely on my own efforts to do charity, to ensure that Haishan’s orphans and the elderly can receive the care they deserve,” Su Yingxue explained.

Ye Haochuan nodded; this girl determined to rely on her own efforts to do charity was indeed not ordinary and rather intriguing. However, he also wondered, how exactly did this girl plan to conduct her charitable work?

With that thought, he directly asked.

Seeing his keen interest, Su Yingxue became excited and smiled, ”That’s right, Brother Ye. Our charitable work is organized by our school’s student union. We even set up a special organization called the Haishan University Student Mutual Aid Charity Association. This charity association often reaches out to other universities in Haishan to unite with their students and contact businesses for sponsorships...”

Hearing this, Ye Haochuan was quite surprised and said, ”That approach sounds good. Logically, it should be able to solve the funding issue.”

Su Yingxue nodded and said, ”Actually, in the past couple of years, we were able to secure sponsorship smoothly every month. However, lately, our sponsors have one by one expressed their withdrawal, and suddenly we’ve encountered funding difficulties. Now, with a new month, it’s time to distribute aid to the orphans and the elderly, but the sponsorship funds have not appeared, and we’re almost panicking.”

”So, you thought of me and want me to be the generous benefactor?” Ye Haochuan joked.

”Brother Ye, when have I asked you to be the generous benefactor?” Su Yingxue retorted with playful reproach, her charming, naive demeanor causing Ye Haochuan’s heart to flutter.

Ye Haochuan smiled lightly and asked, ”Then what’s the reason? Why did those businesses all suddenly withdraw their sponsorship?”

”I don’t know either. For the past couple of years, we’ve had a good collaboration with them. I have no idea why they suddenly pulled out,” Su Yingxue sighed.

Isn’t it obvious? You must not have offered any benefits! It’s not that businesses are against charity, but at the very least, they must see some profit in it. Only a fool would do a business that loses money without benefits!

Ye Haochuan was naturally sly and would never engage in something that didn’t offer him any profit. After thinking for a moment, he laughed and said, ”Your starting point for doing charity is good, but I’m a bit puzzled. I’m not a business, so if you’re looking for a sponsorship from me, are you sure you’re not barking up the wrong tree?”

”Brother Ye, stop joking around with me. Now that you have this Ye Family Medicinal Cuisine Shop, if it’s not a business, then what is it?” Su Yingxue said.

Damn, this girl really came prepared!

Ye Haochuan hurriedly waved his hands, ”Hey, Yingxue, let me make it clear first, this Medicinal Cuisine Shop just carries my name; it has nothing to do with me...”

”Brother Ye, even if the Ye Family Medicinal Cuisine Shop really has nothing to do with you, if someone else uses your name to make money, shouldn’t you at least collect a fee for it?” Su Yingxue chuckled, ”Brother Ye, I know you have always been eager to help others and willingly give to charity. Why don’t you donate that fee for a good cause?”

Fuck, this girl’s mouth is really sweet, she’s actually trying to feed me a potion of sweet talk.

Ye Haochuan fell silent for a moment and said, ”Yingxue, about this sponsorship thing, I can offer—”

”Ah, really? Brother Ye, thank you so much, I thank you on behalf of those lonely elderly and children—” Su Yingxue didn’t even wait to hear him out, assuming he had agreed, and jumped up happily.

Thank for what? Your lordship here hasn’t even finished speaking!

Ye Haochuan sweated and said with a wry smile, ”Yingxue, you misunderstand; I’m not planning to offer money—”

”Ah!” Su Yingxue was stunned for a moment, her face full of disappointment, ”So, Brother Ye, you mean to say...”

Ye Haochuan looked at her speechless. You think money is so easy to earn? Although I’m not short on cash now, it’s been earned with a lot of effort, you can’t just reap the benefits without working for it. Moreover, you’re neither kith nor kin to me; why on earth should I help you like this? You’ve got to pay some kind of price.

Thinking of the word ”price,” his gaze fell on her graceful body, and a sly grin suddenly appeared on his face.

”I’m being quite clear. While it’s a bit difficult for me to provide financial sponsorship directly, I do have an idea for you. Among college students like you, there must be many talented and good-looking ones. You could very well organize and sell...”

Before he could finish, Su Yingxue stomped her foot and said with her face flushed, ”Brother Ye, what nonsense are you spouting? What do you take us for? We would never sell our bodies and souls for money.”

What’s all this about?

Ye Haochuan was taken aback, then he understood and smiled sheepishly, ”What nonsense did I talk? I wasn’t suggesting you sell your bodies and souls. I was saying you guys, especially those who are academically talented, could organize a charity performance for those who can sing and dance well, or a charity auction for those who can write and paint, to get those businesses involved...”

”So that’s what you meant...” Su Yingxue sighed with relief and cast a coquettish glare at him, ”Brother Ye, can’t you speak more clearly, you made me misunderstand.”

Looking at her reproachful eyes, Ye Haochuan couldn’t help but laugh, ”Please, Yingxue, where was I not clear? It’s clearly because I didn’t get to finish speaking, and you interrupted me, isn’t it?”
