Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 537: Chapter 536: 55% Split

Just as Zhao Ruqian was feeling a bit worried about her sister leaving, Ye Haochuan stood up and chuckled, ”Bingqian, don’t go. Look at your sister, ferocious like a wolf or tiger—I’m a bit scared!”

Zhao Bingqian, still young and naive about the subtext in his words, giggled, ”Uncle, my sister isn’t as exaggerated as you describe. Don’t worry, she’s really nice as long as you behave, she won’t trouble you.”

Next to her, Zhao Ruqian listened and felt a surge of silent indignation, ’What the heck? Like a wolf or tiger? Do I look as easy to fool as Bingqian? Don’t think I don’t know you’re insinuating that I’m too forceful. This guy is so annoying!’

”That’s hard to say,” Ye Haochuan glanced at Zhao Ruqian, grinned mischievously, ”Look at your sister, she might as well eat me alive; I’m worried I can’t handle it. Bingqian, it’s better if you don’t leave.”

”Really, Uncle, this is business stuff, and I don’t understand it. Staying would only cause confusion. Let my sister talk with you; she understands these things better. In the meantime, I’ll ask the nanny to make some milk tea and some snacks for you, so you can eat and talk, okay?”

With that said, Zhao Bingqian laughed, turned, and left the room, leaving Ye Haochuan and Zhao Ruqian together, which was rather awkward.

However, Ye Haochuan remained cheerfully smiley, making Zhao Ruqian feel irked. She thought, with the door open, he wouldn’t dare harass me outright, would he?

With this thought, she calmed down a bit and gritted her teeth, ”Ye Haochuan, don’t think I’m as easily fooled as my sister. If she wants to invest in your so-called beauty project, you must at least produce some convincing beauty products, right?”

”Product, well, I don’t have one right now, but I do have the recipe in my hand.” Ye Haochuan smiled slightly, then with a flick of his hand, like magic, he extracted an already prepared handwritten recipe from his storage ring.

This move startled Zhao Ruqian, making her wonder if her eyes were deceiving her. How did that paper just appear in his hand? Then again, thinking he was no ordinary person, she wasn’t too shocked.

After taking the recipe, Zhao Ruqian glanced over it briefly and said, ”I can’t understand this recipe, how do I know you’re not deceiving people with it?”

”Hehe, Sister Ruqian, just look closely at me, look closely at my face. You see anything?” Ye Haochuan chuckled.

”Why would I look at your face?” Zhao Ruqian glanced at him swiftly, meeting his smiling eyes. Somehow, her heart skipped a beat, finding his deep, charming eyes unexpectedly stirring.

”Hehe, Sister Ruqian, if I were deceiving you, I’d be lower than pigs and dogs,” Ye Haochuan patted his cheek and said.

Lower than pigs and dogs?

Zhao Ruqian could hardly stifle a laugh but managed to suppress it in the end.

Seeing her silent and somewhat distrustful, Ye Haochuan continued reluctantly. ”Okay, then, if you don’t trust me, we don’t have to proceed with the project, I’m not short of money anyway.”

”This...” Seeing his attitude, as if he didn’t care whether they proceeded or not, Zhao Ruqian began to believe him somewhat, and bit her lip, ”Alright then; since that’s the case, tell me, how should we split the profits?”

This is more like it!

Ye Haochuan nodded, ”Considering Bingqian’s stake, let’s just split the profits fifty-fifty.”

”What? Fifty-fifty?” Zhao Ruqian was shocked to her core, ”You just contribute this recipe, and you want a fifty-fifty profit share?”

”Please, Sister Ruqian, what era are we in? It’s the era of intellectual property rights! Though this recipe isn’t quite a Body-Strengthening Pill, it is priceless and unique. Once we start producing this beauty product, it’s bound to be a best-selling hit. The money it brings in a year will be astronomical, you know?” Ye Haochuan explained.

”But, I haven’t even seen a shadow of your product, how do you expect me to believe?” Zhao Ruqian huffed.

After all this time, she still doesn’t trust me, eh? Fine, fine, I’ll just have to put in some effort today and show you what I can do.

Ye Haochuan shook his head and said, ”In that case, I’ll refine a sample for you right now. Then you can see the effects for yourself.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he gestured with his hand and pulled a small Copper Furnace, a common Talisman Instrument, from his Storage Ring. He then prepared a small pile of Chinese medicinal herbs, placed them into the Copper Furnace, mixed and stirred them, and then channeled Gang Qi to heat and refine them...

A few minutes later, the sediment of the medicinal herbs in the Copper Furnace started to surface. Ye Haochuan activated the Gang Qi to filter out the residue, leaving behind only some pure white ointment essence.

After filtering three times, the ointment became even purer. Ye Haochuan felt it was about right and then stopped the refinement, allowing it to cool naturally.

After a while, Ye Haochuan felt it was ready and smiled, ”Sister Ruqian, you have a long scar on your neck. Try applying some of this ointment; I guarantee it will remove the scar.”

Mentioning the small scar on her neck made Zhao Ruqian blush slightly. That scar, left by her ex-husband during a domestic abuse incident, had never healed, remaining a lifelong ache in her heart.

She usually wore her hair down to cover it, but Ye Haochuan had still noticed it.

Despite her dislike and annoyance with the man in front of her, a woman’s desire for beauty often surpasses even her own life. She hesitated for a moment before she couldn’t help asking, ”Are you telling the truth?”

”Come on, Sister Ruqian, you really don’t trust me that much?” Ye Haochuan felt a bit frustrated, ”Okay, how about this? I swear, if the ointment I refined shows no effects at all, may my little brother rot away.”

Ugh, what a nasty oath to make. It’s just disgusting.

Zhao Ruqian gave him a sideways glance, choosing to ignore the comment. She reached in, took a bit of the ointment, and brought it close to her nose to smell it, feeling a gentle fragrance that was refreshing and pleasant.

It seemed to smell nice. Zhao Ruquian was slightly pleased and then applied the ointment to the scar on her neck, feeling a cool and comfortable sensation at the spot.

However, just after a little while, she started to feel a slight warmth at the scar, even a bit of a burning sensation, and it was itchy. She instinctively wanted to wipe it off, but Ye Haochuan said, ”Don’t touch it, the medicine is working now, clearing up the scar. If you don’t believe me, you can look in the mirror.”

Zhao Ruqian uttered an ”Oh”, then turned towards the dressing table to look, and saw the scar on her neck gradually peeling off, eventually revealing new, tender skin underneath.

”This... this is too miraculous,” Zhao Ruqian said in disbelief.

Seeing her astonished expression, Ye Haochuan smiled slightly, ”Although this ointment can’t compare with the Body-Strengthening Pill, it’s easier to prepare, and the medicinal herbs are easy to find. The production cost is also quite affordable, and if marketed well, it’s guaranteed to be a big hit. Now, you shouldn’t have any objections to the fifty-fifty split, right?”

Zhao Ruqian’s eyes twinkled with a hint of cunning as she forced herself to remain calm, ”A fifty-fifty split is not impossible, but I have a condition.”

A condition?

Ye Haochuan was startled, looking at her shrewd expression and wondering anxiously what kind of condition his sister-in-law was going to propose.

”Hehe, Sister Ruqian, say one condition, even ten conditions, I agree. But, just to be clear, please don’t ask me to commit myself in marriage, or else it’s off the table,” Ye Haochuan joked.
