Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 514: Chapter 513: Facing Off

Upon hearing this voice, Ye Haochuan felt it faintly familiar, and when he turned his head, he saw record Holder Li Lishu, whom he had met once before, walking out of the tall tower’s gate.

After casting a glance at Zhou Mingjiang, the Li Lishu said sternly, ”What did you just say? Someone got the Netherworld Holy Water?”

Zhou Mingjiang, who often competed in the underground arena of his sect, surely recognized Record Holder Li. Thinking he had a golden opportunity to take down Ye Haochuan, he hurriedly approached and said, ”Senior Brother Li, it’s this Ye Haochuan. He has the Hellfire Netherworld Holy Water from the evil cult... That’s right, Senior Brother Quan’s arm was severed because he was ambushed with the Netherworld Holy Water by him.”

”Hmm? Is that so?” Li Lishu’s expression turned grim as his gaze sharply shifted to Ye Haochuan.

Slaughter among sect members is a grave taboo in the Ancient Martial Arts Sects. Once verified, a severe punishment was inevitable.

Although Li Lishu was the record holder, he was also granted the authority to monitor and restrain disciples who came to train in the Sub-Fire Elemental Realm. Now, with accusations laid before him, he surely wouldn’t stand idly by.

His gaze was piercing, and he immediately discerned Ye Haochuan’s cultivation level, having already stepped into the Innate Realm. Obviously, the sect would value such talent. And among those who came to the Sub-Fire Elemental Realm this time, apart from the monitors, all were Postnatal Realm Outer Sect Disciples. Thus, the possibility of Ye Haochuan abusing his power to harm his fellow sect members was not impossible.

”You two, come over here!” There were too many onlookers, and Li Lishu didn’t want to cause a commotion, so he prepared to take both men to a sealed chamber inside the tower.

”Yes, Senior Brother Li!” Ye Haochuan and Zhou Mingjiang said in unison.

In the chamber, Li Lishu snorted, ”Junior Brother Ye, don’t you think you should explain yourself?”

Heh-heh, ”Senior Brother Li, since Junior Brother Zhou claims I ambushed his so-called Senior Brother Quan with Netherworld Holy Water, why doesn’t he just bring out Senior Brother Quan to confront me face to face? Just relying on his one-sided story, what credibility does it have?”

Ye Haochuan smiled, his demeanor calm and composed, his face showing no signs of panic. After all, Senior Brother Quan was now dead with nothing left to find; how could he confront anyone? With death beyond proof, who would believe Zhou Mingjiang’s ridiculous claims?

Li Lishu nodded, looked at Zhou Mingjiang, and said, ”Makes sense. Junior Brother Zhou, would you mind presenting the said Senior Brother Quan for a confrontation?”

How could I present someone who I can’t even find?

Zhou Mingjiang was momentarily stunned, thinking Ye Haochuan was clever to seize on a flaw in his argument to counterattack, and then angrily said, ”Senior Brother Li, what you don’t know is that Senior Brother Quan and others who were traveling with him have all lost contact. Ye fought with us, bullied us because of his power, and now that Senior Brother Quan and the others are gone without a trace, and he’s still alive and kicking, he must have killed Senior Brother Quan and the others...”

Damn it, bullying because of power? You all outnumbered me; who’s really the bully here?

Ye Haochuan chuckled coldly and suddenly said, ”Junior Brother Zhou, you’re lying through your teeth without even drafting your lies first, I’m really amazed. Didn’t you just say you were traveling with Senior Brother Quan and others? If I indeed killed them, then how are you perfectly alive and well?”

Li Lishu found it reasonable and looked at Zhou Mingjiang, ”Indeed, Junior Brother Zhou, how do you explain that?”

”Senior Brother Li, this is what happened...” Zhou Mingjiang gave a rough explanation of the events, which were generally accurate, but clearly there were some attempts to gloss over the truth. For instance, they had forcefully demanded a specially made medicinal potion, but with some crafty excuses, it turned out that Ye Haochuan was portrayed as unwilling to assist his fellow sect members, hoarding his resources, and being extremely selfish.

Indeed, at this moment, Li Lishu admired Ye Haochuan for being able to use his specially made potion to evade demon and Yaksha attacks. However, seeing his self-centeredness, he had quite a negative impression of him.

”Junior Brother Ye, is there anything unclear or inappropriate in what he said?” Li Lishu asked sternly.

Ye Haochuan respected Li Lishu, who was a Foundation Establishment Early Stage master, and didn’t dare to neglect him. He chuckled, ”Heh-heh, Senior Brother Li, there are too many unclear or inappropriate points in what Junior Brother Zhou said.”

”Oh?” Li Lishu was taken aback, ”Then I would like to hear the details.”

Ye Haochuan nodded, looked at Zhou Mingjiang, and smiled, ”Junior Brother Zhou, since Senior Brother Li wants to understand the true story, let’s have a proper confrontation... According to you, after you separated from Quan Guanjie and others, you never saw them again, right?”

Zhou Mingjiang didn’t think twice before responding, ”That’s right.”

”Heh heh,” Ye Haochuan said with a mocking smile, ”So, basically, according to what you’re saying, he was still alive when you parted ways with Quan Guanjie and the others, but whether he was alive or dead after that, you have no idea?”

Seeing his odd expression, Zhou Mingjiang sensed something bad, but since he had indeed said as much earlier, he had no choice but to nod again.

”So you’re saying, even though you have no clue whether Quan Guanjie is dead or alive, you’re pinning the murder on me? Do you have any common sense?” Ye Haochuan barked.

”This...” Zhou Mingjiang was momentarily stunned, but quickly, he started to argue again, ”But now all of Senior Brother Quan’s group have disappeared without a trace, and you were trapped on that small island in the Lava Lake. If you didn’t kill Senior Brother Quan and the others, then how did you manage to get out?”

”Come on, have some brains, will you? That lava region is swarming with Yasha, maybe they were all killed by the Yasha?” Ye Haochuan said nonchalantly.

”This...” Zhou Mingjiang was dumbfounded again, but immediately, he started arguing once more, ”Fine, even if I have no evidence for that matter, the fact that Senior Brother Quan’s hand was forced to be amputated due to your use of the Hellfire’s Netherworld Holy Water is not fake, right?”

”Of course, that’s true...”

Hearing his admission, Zhou Mingjiang was overjoyed and eagerly said to Li Lishu, ”Senior Brother Li, you see, he has finally admitted his guilt of maiming a fellow sect member, right? Quick, you must capture him at once and send him back to the sects to await their judgement.”

Li Lishu’s eyes narrowed, just about to take action, when Ye Haochuan crossed his arms and started to sneer, ”I say, Junior Brother Zhou, it’s true that Quan Guanjie’s arm was amputated due to my Netherworld Holy Water, but I did it in pure self-defense. If you hadn’t sought to outnumber me and bullied me with your superior strength, would I have resorted to such a measure? Surely, you wouldn’t expect me to just stick out my neck and let you slaughter me, would you?”

”You’re talking nonsense; we didn’t outnumber and bully you...”

Zhou Mingjiang hadn’t finished speaking when Ye Haochuan cut him off, scolding sharply, ”I’m talking nonsense? Hmph, you accused me of disregarding our brotherhood and being too selfish to share the specially made potion. Since I already refused, why then did you persistently hassle me? Isn’t that the very definition of outnumbering and bullying?”

”This...”

”Quan Guanjie was an Innate Master, and at the time, we were merely at the Postnatal Peak, not his match at all. Isn’t that bullying with superior strength?”

”This...”

”To save our own lives, we were trapped by you on that small island in the Lava Lake, unable to escape. Isn’t this yet another case of you outnumbering and bullying us?”

”This...”

With each point Ye Haochuan made, he pressed on relentlessly, causing Zhou Mingjiang to retreat guiltily. Ye Haochuan’s every word seized on the loopholes in Zhou Mingjiang’s earlier statements and counter-attacked fiercely, until finally, Zhou Mingjiang was so pale and out of arguments that he collapsed on the ground.

”Senior Brother Li, that’s what happened,” Ye Haochuan harrumphed heavily, ”I admit I used Netherworld Holy Water, but it was purely a manifestation of self-defense under dire circumstances. Had I not done so, not only would they have taken all my treasures, but I would also have suffered inhumane humiliation. Please, Senior Brother Li, understand my position.”

”You have a point,” Li Lishu’s gaze turned icy as he glanced at Zhou Mingjiang, ”Do you have anything else to say now?”

”This... this...” Zhou Mingjiang started to stammer, completely at a loss for words.

With that, matters were essentially cleared up.

However, Li Lishu arrested Zhou Mingjiang and his two fellow disciples on the spot, ordering them to be taken away to be sent to the Secular World, there to await judgement by the Sect’s Law Enforcement Elder.

Watching Zhou Mingjiang and his two companions being led away with disheveled appearances, Ye Haochuan felt an immense sense of satisfaction. Damn it, attempting to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice. Now you know how formidable I am, huh?
