A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions

Chapter 95: Chapter 95: The Parents of the Little Tyrant

”You... hit me?” Liu Jing covered her face, the stinging pain a constant reminder that her uncle, who had adored her since childhood, had now raised a hand against her.

”During this time, under my name, what have you been doing with the troops?” Liu Hongjun looked at her with a stern expression, asking.

Upon hearing Liu Hongjun’s words, Liu Jing’s face turned pale instantly. Seeing Liu Hongjun’s dark expression, she immediately tried to defend herself, blaming everything on others. ”Uncle, don’t listen to their nonsense. I didn’t do anything! They’re framing me.”

Liu Hongjun shook his head, his disappointment evident.

”Violating security and confidentiality regulations, seriously disrupting the normal order of the troops – these are all fine things you, Liu Jing, have done! One incident after another, who do you say is framing you?” Liu Hongjun looked coldly at Liu Jing, the last hint of warmth eroded by her lies.

”I...” Liu Jing looked at Liu Hongjun. ”Uncle, I am your niece! Do you not like me anymore?”

”Precisely because you are my niece, can you do whatever you want in the troops? What do you think this place is? Your home where you can cause trouble at will? What do you think of the discipline in the troops?” Liu Hongjun looked at Wang Lu, who, along with several soldiers, stepped forward and apprehended Liu Jing.

”Uncle, where are you taking me? Uncle! I am Jingjing! Uncle... I know I was wrong, let me go, where are you taking me? I don’t want to go! Uncle...” Liu Jing was restrained by the soldiers who dragged her out of the Lu Family residence.

It was then that Liu Jing truly knew fear, calling out for Liu Hongjun frantically, no longer caring about her disheveled appearance, only wanting them not to take her.

”Uncle, I want to go home...” Liu Jing shouted to return home.

Unfortunately, it was too late for her to want to go home now.

”Xiao Xiao, I’m truly sorry. The main responsibility for this matter lies with me, for I indulged her too much, allowing her recklessness.” Liu Hongjun walked up to Fu Xiaoxiao, sincerely apologizing for his niece; at this moment, he was a heartbroken guardian, not a leader.

”Uncle Liu, indeed, this is your responsibility. You think you’re not her biological parent, so you avoid disciplining her, continually indulging her. When she makes mistakes, instead of correcting them immediately, you treat them as minor child’s play, which makes her unaware of her mistakes, and thus she becomes increasingly audacious, knowing that whatever she does wrong, you’ll cover for her.” Fu Xiaoxiao fixed her gaze on Liu Hongjun, addressing him as Uncle Liu, but her words were sharp and precise.

Behind every spoiled child is a parent who considers their mistakes trivial.

Repeated indulgences, covering for their mistakes, teaching them that errors bear no cost, thus fostering a spoiled child.

Because there’s no cost to errors, how could one know the consequences of mistakes?

Hearing Fu Xiaoxiao refer to him as Uncle Liu, Liu Hongjun initially felt a bit relieved, but her words soon plunged him into deep silence.

Lin Qiu watched Fu Xiaoxiao confronting Liu Hongjun, eyes widened in shock.

Lu Feng, with a faint smile on his lips, looked at Fu Xiaoxiao, his eyes gleaming.

The yard sank into momentary silence.

Lin Qiu watched Fu Xiaoxiao with some worry.

She worried both about Fu Xiaoxiao offending the leadership and admired her courage and persistence.

”Uncle Liu, seeing her become like this, aren’t you yourselves, who cherished her most, the ones who feel the deepest pain?” Fu Xiaoxiao spoke slowly.

Family elders indeed love the younger ones, but inadvertently they also bring some negative influences.

Such as... bullying, arrogance.

And furthermore, pride and conceit.

Liu Hongjun sighed, his expression softened slightly.

”This matter, indeed, I have to reflect on. You’re right; because she’s my niece and the only girl in the next generation of the Liu family, we’ve spoiled her, accommodating her every demand, leading to her arrogance and rudeness.” Liu Hongjun lowered his head in self-reproach.

He had actually sensed it long ago, but he thought Liu Jing was just a girl, unable to cause too big of a trouble.

Always considering her young, always finding excuses, always cleaning up her mess.

”I sincerely apologize to you.” Liu Hongjun looked into Fu Xiaoxiao’s eyes with no trace of irritation or shame, and Fu Xiaoxiao nodded slightly in response.

”I hope you’ll handle this matter well. If it happens again, it won’t just be two slaps. If you don’t teach her, society will, and one day she’ll cause a disaster you can’t clean up.” Fu Xiaoxiao’s words were sharp but truthful.

”Thank you.” Liu Hongjun looked complexly at Fu Xiaoxiao, acknowledging that she was absolutely right; this matter couldn’t be dealt with so simply.

Liu Hongjun departed the Lu Family residence with Wang Lu, and as Lin Qiu watched them leave, she approached Fu Xiaoxiao.

”You... you’re so impressive! That... that was a major leader! You dared talk to him like that? Weren’t you afraid he’d be angry?” Lin Qiu felt her legs go weak, never imagining she’d dare to confront the major leader’s responsibilities like Fu Xiaoxiao did.

”Precisely because of this, I had to speak out.” Fu Xiaoxiao looked at Lu Feng, whose smile hadn’t faded.

”You’re right, Liu Jing’s actions have surpassed simple disciplinary issues.” Lu Feng nodded, acknowledging that Liu Jing’s recklessness had led her to enter forbidden zones and even interrupt soldiers’ training—actions that the troops have zero tolerance for.

”You said what I dared not say.” Lu Feng affirmed, Fu Xiaoxiao’s words were incredibly gratifying.

He had told him many times, but Liu Hongjun always thought Liu Jing was young and ignorant, just child’s play, and never gave it serious thought.

Fu Xiaoxiao’s words this time awakened him, turning out to be a good thing.

”It’s not that you didn’t dare; you simply couldn’t say it.” Fu Xiaoxiao glanced at Lu Feng, noticing he had been chuckling silently from the sidelines.

”He counts as my foster father; he wouldn’t have listened even if I said it.” Lu Feng stated frankly.

”So he wanted to form closer ties with you, planning for Liu Jing to marry you, but you rejected Liu Jing?” Fu Xiaoxiao asked.

Lin Qiu looked at Lu Feng, who nodded affirmatively.

Fu Xiaoxiao wasn’t surprised by this answer, as it wasn’t difficult to guess.

From the moment Liu Jing arrived, pressing with identity, she only had one goal: to oust Lu Feng’s ’current wife,’ hoping she would sensibly leave and make way.

”What I could gain by marrying her, I could achieve with my own abilities! Moreover, I seek a wife to support one another, not a reigning queen.” Lu Feng’s gaze fixed on Fu Xiaoxiao, intent on seeing how she would react to his words.
