A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions

Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Confronting the Village Chief

Old Li’s face turned sullen.

Being so old and being reprimanded by Fu Xiaoxiao pointing at his nose, a man who always had the final say at home was being challenged for authority, he wanted to hit Fu Xiaoxiao with the stick he was holding.

”Stop acting innocent here!” Old Li completely ignored Fu Xiaoxiao’s words and pointed at her with the stick. ”Today, you must pay, or this matter won’t end! You must pay hundreds of yuan, otherwise you’ll face consequences!”

Fu Xiaoxiao looked at the stick in front of her and sneered, raising her voice. ”If you keep messing around like this, how about I report you to the police! You could end up in jail for extortion and threats, then you can have a family reunion there, how about that?”

Upon hearing that he might also end up in jail, Old Li’s actions paused, and a trace of panic flashed across his face.

But seeing that Fu Xiaoxiao was just a woman, Old Li sneered again, with disdain in his eyes. ”You think the police station is run by your family? You say I’ll go in, and I’ll go in? Who do you think you are?”

”You’re nothing but a little girl, don’t play games with me here, if you don’t pay, don’t think about leaving today!” With that, Old Li reached out to grab Fu Xiaoxiao.

”Don’t bully my mom!” Lu Chen, who was holding Fu Xiaoxiao’s hand, got angry, and his small body lunged toward Old Li, trying to push him away.

But his small body, after all, was just that of a five-year-old kid, Old Li staggered a bit from the push.

”Little bastard, you came to me yourself, don’t blame me!” His gaze fell on Lu Chen, with a fierce look in his eyes, and he swung the stick toward Lu Chen.

”How dare you touch him!” Fu Xiaoxiao’s eyes turned fierce, she stepped forward and held Lu Chen in her arms, using one hand to block the falling stick from Old Li, and kicked Old Li away hard.

The nearby villagers heard the commotion and hurried over.

When Aunt Wang and others arrived, they saw Fu Xiaoxiao protecting Lu Chen, getting hit by Old Li’s stick. Although Old Li was kicked down by Fu Xiaoxiao, Aunt Wang was so angry that she went up and kicked Old Li.

”You piece of work, Old Li, you never do good things, used to bully the girls in the village, now you don’t even spare children, are you even human?”

When the village head arrived, seeing Aunt Wang leading Aunt Zhang and others to serve Old Li, his face darkened.

”Get back, all of you!”

Upon hearing the village head, Aunt Wang finally let Old Li go, Aunt Zhang came over to Fu Xiaoxiao and Lu Chen, seeing Fu Xiaoxiao’s already bruised arm, yelled at the village head.

”Village head, are you going to help the Li Family again this time? We all saw it, Old Li was the one who wielded the stick at the mother and son.”

”Look, how bruised this arm is? She’s not like the girls in our village who work, how can she tolerate such bullying? And Old Li was the one who started with the child, look how small the child is, he’s terrified.”

Aunt Zhang and Aunt Zhang shouted at the village head, Fu Xiaoxiao’s bruised arm and the stunned Lu Chen directly became the target of Old Li’s bullying in the eyes of the villagers, especially his assault on a child, which none of the villagers could tolerate.

”How can you lay hands on such a child?”

”Village head, how can this person stay in the village? Today he hit a child, will he hit our children and grandchildren in the future as well?”

”Such a person shouldn’t stay in the village! Drive the entire Li Family out, they were pests before, and they are still pests now!”

”Exactly, he shouldn’t stay! Just like Li Xiang, he must be expelled from the village.”

”A child! Such a young child, so wicked! Look, the child is terrified!”

”...”

The villagers couldn’t hold back and directly rebutted the village head.

The village head previously helped the Li Family, making all villagers feel he was biased. This time, with Old Li daring to lay hands on a child, there’s no guarantee he won’t target their descendants in the future. Male children are treasures in every family, they can’t stand any harm.

Faced with accusations from everyone, the village head’s face turned grim, Old Li saw the village head, having been beaten and pinched by Aunt Wang and others, rolled on the ground several times, looking pitiful.

”She cursed me first, she caused my son to have no offspring, and caused my wife to go to prison, she should compensate me for this, our Li Family has been single transmission for generations, she made me lose the offspring, how can I face my ancestors now?” Old Li began to wail, sitting on the ground and hysterically accusing Fu Xiaoxiao.

Hearing about the Li Family losing offspring, the men in the village could understand Old Li’s suffering, but what does this have to do with Fu Xiaoxiao?

”The matter of your family losing offspring, the culprit hasn’t been found out yet, why do you blame it on her?” Aunt Wang would not fear him, pointed at Old Li and retorted.

”Exactly, your shameless family stole things and they got caught and sent to the police, do you actually have the face to blame her?” Aunt Zhang immediately followed.

”Besides, your son wanted to bully the others and got locked in the ancestral hall, the village head protected him, in my opinion, he should be sent directly to the police, let him get a bullet!” Aunt Zhang wished that his bastard son would take a bullet.

”That’s right, the whole family is not good, the village head keeps protecting them time after time, I suspect the village head has received some benefits from your family, how come he’s always helping you!” Aunt Zhang even more fearlessly pointed out the village head.

The four of them pointed it out like this, the village head wanted to explain, but it was too late.

The villagers’ questioning gaze fell on the village head, Aunt Wang’s comments were not without reason, over the years, hasn’t the Li Family committed enough wrongdoings? Just the fact that they don’t work but still receive food has dissatisfied many in the village.

Everyone is striving to make a living, working hard fearing there won’t be enough grain, but the Li Family? They’ve hardly worked a day over the years, yet at the end of the year, they still have food!

When things happen, the village head only lightly addresses it, without serious consequences, it just passes.

Everyone’s heart is filled with anger! The village head’s credibility has dropped quite a bit.

”What nonsense are you talking, I’m doing this for our village, if people find out there’s such a family in our village, will they still marry their daughters to our village?” The village head looked solemn, but his words left everyone silent.

After all, the village head’s reasoning wasn’t wrong.

”Village head, your words, if people find out there’s such a family in Upper River Village, where wrongdoings are covered and minimized by the village head, do you think they’ll marry their daughters here?” Fu Xiaoxiao sneered, pointing out the absurdity in the village head’s words.

”You’re an outsider girl, what do you know!” The village head wasn’t pleased with Fu Xiaoxiao’s questioning.

He never liked Fu Xiaoxiao, things always happened in the village with her around, when everything used to be fine.

”As an outsider, I have the right to speak. If I weren’t married, I wouldn’t marry into such a village where right and wrong are blurred, without any safety.” Fu Xiaoxiao was fearless and straightforward.
