A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: It’s Time to Forget the Old Mom

”Everything will get better.” Lu Chen hugged Lu Lin, comforting his brother with the words he once told him.

”Now we have Mr. Lu and Mrs. Fu, no one will bully us anymore. Mrs. Fu is a good person, and she is letting you go to school.” Although Lu Chen was young, he knew what was good and what was bad. When Fu Xiaoxiao smiled, her eyes were sparkling.

”You really like her.” Lu Lin could see that Lu Chen liked Fu Xiaoxiao very much.

”I can’t remember what mom looks like anymore, I only remember her always crying.” Lu Chen leaned on Lu Lin, having few memories of his mother, which were fading even more recently.

And he didn’t want to remember at all.

Hearing Lu Chen speak like this, Lu Lin sighed. He understood because he felt the same way.

The longer he spent with Fu Xiaoxiao, the more his mother’s face faded, gradually replaced by Fu Xiaoxiao’s face. He was a bit afraid, afraid that one day he would truly never think of his mother again.

”Hmm.” Lu Lin looked at the little wolf cub in his arms.

She didn’t want them before, now it’s their turn not to want her.

The wolf cub that left the mother wolf will never return to her side.

Fu Xiaoxiao didn’t know about the emotional changes of the two brothers. Holding the clothes she made, Fu Xiaoxiao was filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Who said learning more things was not good? Each job brought her not just money, but also experience and skills.

Though not proficient, at least she could do it!

”Xiao Chen, Xiao Lin, come in quickly.” Fu Xiaoxiao couldn’t wait for them to try on the clothes’ fit.

”Coming.” Lu Lin quickly put the little wolf cub back and went to Fu Xiaoxiao’s room with Lu Chen.

”Take off your clothes and try these on.” Fu Xiaoxiao held two sets of clothes, smiling at them both.

”These are made for us?” Lu Chen was very excited, about to reach out, but seeing his blackened hands, he quickly withdrew. ”Oh, so dirty, can’t dirty the new clothes.”

”Mrs. Fu, wait for me. I’ll go take a shower and come back to try.” With new clothes, he didn’t want to dirty them.

”Let’s shower first.” Lu Lin also saw his own hands and ran to the kitchen with Lu Chen.

Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled, watching them go to the kitchen to mix warm water and clean themselves up swiftly.

Who said they couldn’t change bad habits? Isn’t this quite good?

When the two kids ran back with wet heads, Fu Xiaoxiao shook her head.

She took out a towel to dry their wet hair.

Lu Lin was surprised, feeling Fu Xiaoxiao gently spread the towel and gently cover his head. Her fingers skillfully moved through his hair with just the right strength, each motion containing a mother’s unique warmth.

Inexplicably, his nose felt a bit sour.

Lu Lin lowered his head, obediently let Fu Xiaoxiao dry his hair.

Lu Chen watched Lu Lin, with a bright smile on his face.

”Mrs. Fu, me too.” Lu Chen stood by, waiting obediently.

”Come, it’s your turn.” Fu Xiaoxiao smiled, took out a towel, covered Lu Chen’s head, and gently wiped the water off his hair.

In the seventies, boys liked to have buzz cuts. Lu Lin and Lu Chen hadn’t had haircuts in a while, so their hair was a bit long, but still quite short. The towel lightly rubbed, and most of it was dry.

”All done, your hair is dry. Now, let’s try on the clothes.” Fu Xiaoxiao handed the clothes to Lu Lin, while she helped Lu Chen change into his new clothes.

Lu Chen giggled, cooperating with Fu Xiaoxiao’s actions, raising his arms and extending his hands.

”Thank you, Mrs. Fu.”

Lu Lin wore his fitting clothes. Fu Xiaoxiao nodded, the clothes were fitting, but the two kids still looked too skinny.

Usually, their clothes were loose and straight, so it was hard to tell if the kids were fat or skinny.

Now in fitted clothes, the contrast was noticeable.

”You are too skinny.” Fu Xiaoxiao sighed.

Lu Lin and Lu Chen looked at themselves, not feeling too skinny.

”Do you like it? If you like it, just wear it. Your other clothes don’t fit well, I’ll alter them.” Fu Xiaoxiao saw them about to take off the clothes to change back, and quickly told them not to.

”Isn’t this only for wearing during the New Year?” Lu Lin looked at Fu Xiaoxiao in surprise, wearing it now?

”It’s still two months until the New Year. Why wait? The clothes made now fit just right, they might be small by then.” Fu Xiaoxiao replied. ”Just wear them. It’s getting a bit cold, perfect to wear inside.”

”What if it gets dirty?” Lu Chen was a bit reluctant. Such nice clothes, wearing them now?

”If it gets dirty, wash it. Clothes are meant to be worn, no need to be this particular! Besides, when the time comes, I might make you new clothes.” Fu Xiaoxiao’s words dispelled the kids’ worries, ultimately, they’re still kids. Wearing new clothes, even the usually reserved Lu Lin had a face filled with smiles.

”Alright, hurry back to your room and sleep. There’s school tomorrow!” Fu Xiaoxiao clapped to get their attention.

”Okay.” Lu Chen immediately answered loudly, then pulled Lu Lin to go back to their room to obediently sleep.

”Thank you, Mrs. Fu.” As Lu Lin passed by Fu Xiaoxiao, his face reddened slightly, quickly saying thank you, then pulled Lu Chen into the room.

Fu Xiaoxiao watched their backs, unable to resist smiling.

However, she was a bit surprised that Lu Lin had already called her Mrs. Fu.

She thought it would take a while longer for Lu Lin to accept her! When did she successfully win him over?

Fu Xiaoxiao took the kids’ clothes out to wash, then went back to her room to continue completing her great endeavor.

After all, her chest area was still empty! She had to make the most important thing.

After working all night, Fu Xiaoxiao finally completed the underwear she envisioned, sighing with relief, finally feeling she wasn’t exposed.

Early the next day, Wang Lu came to take Lu Lin to school. Fu Xiaoxiao made breakfast for them then went back to sleep.

Lu Chen woke up late, initially a bit scared, but suddenly he touched the new clothes he was wearing, and grinned foolishly.

Fu Xiaoxiao didn’t know that Lu Chen’s sense of security actually came from this new set of clothes. Instead, Lu Feng was left waiting for quite a while, suddenly feeling forgotten.

Yesterday, Fu Xiaoxiao brought breakfast to the room, but today she just returned to her room to sleep, completely forgetting Lu Feng, who was waiting inside for breakfast delivery.

Lu Feng sighed, got up and went to the kitchen himself. Lu Chen widened his eyes when he saw Lu Feng up.

”Mr. Lu, are you okay now? Can you get out of bed?”

”Mr. Lu, you shouldn’t get up yet. Mrs. Fu said you should lie in bed and sleep obediently!”

”Mr. Lu, listen, you can’t be disobedient like this, Mrs. Fu will get mad, and if she gets mad, you’re done for!”

Lu Chen earnestly advised Lu Feng.
