Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1049: Chapter 21 Running Away! [Second Update]

The three-headed monster could never let go of a beast daring enough to invade its territory, especially since this beast was a peculiar species it had never seen before, which made it an extremely enticing toy in the eyes of the beings that inhabited this closed-off realm.

So when Jia Yan took a slight detour, trying to traverse into that three-kilometer area from five hundred meters beside the creature, the monster’s body also moved, its solid limbs stomping on the ground fiercely, causing the entire area to shake, and it charged directly towards the fleeing Jia Yan.

”Quite fast, huh?!” Jia Yan was taken aback by its speed but his reaction was swift, and he instantly changed direction again.

The three-headed monster bit down with one of its heads, but Jia Yan had already changed direction, leaving it to bite down on nothing but shattered rocks.

Yet Jia Yan’s evasion was not so smooth. One head had been fooled, but the other two were still eagerly eyeing him. Just as Jia Yan changed direction, he felt a gust of fierce wind sweeping down from above!

It was another head pouncing, and to the creature, Jia Yan seemed nothing more than a small crawling insect being casually snapped at.

And if Jia Yan escaped this bite, there was another head waiting for him.

But Jia Yan’s movement was something it had not anticipated!

Seeing that he couldn’t avoid the pounce in time, a ferocity from within Jia Yan was aroused!

”Don’t think I’m a sick cat because I haven’t shown my claws!” A glint flashed in Jia Yan’s eyes, and then his forelimb struck back fiercely at the approaching head!

His right forelimb’s power was perhaps the strongest among all his body parts at the moment. Muscle upon muscle tensed sharply, ready to face the imminent impact.

As for the creature’s power, Jia Yan was convinced of its strength, but he was no pushover, and what was more, the penetrative power of his forelimbs was terrifying. The stronger the creature used its power, the more destructive the attack from his piercing forelimb would be.

The head bit down viciously, and Jia Yan could faintly see the blood-red flesh inside its mouth. Moreover, a terrible toxin spread over, which even for Big Mosquito, was somewhat unbearable, making him feel drowsy and weak.

Fortunately, his body was not that of an ordinary monster. Even if the attack had some effect on him, it did not render him defenseless and unable to fight. Instead, his spirits shook, and the sharpness in his eyes intensified!

Obviously, the three-headed monster had not expected Jia Yan to dare to counter-attack. Now, watching Jia Yan’s slender limb, only the size of one of its teeth, lancing towards it, a trace of disdain flashed through its six pairs of eyes. It had some understanding of Big Mosquito’s strength, but clearly having never encountered outsiders, it did not feel that the opponent was close to its own power level. After all, here, power was judged by size.

The next moment, the creature felt a surge of regret.

Jia Yan’s forelimb stabbed fiercely into its gaping maw. Although Jia Yan felt a corrosive power attacking his right limb for a split second, the deep blue color radiating from his forelimb blocked out the energy, keeping it at bay.

The creature felt the sharp thrust of the limb, piercing faster than it anticipated into its mouth, and without any resistance, it pierced straight into the organs within, stopping just short of reaching the brain, not far from the head. This still caused it to feel a pain it had not experienced in a long time!

Not just pain, it was excruciating!

Aoow!

The monster nearly went mad. Jia Yan’s strength exceeded its expectations. It was almost invincible within this foggy area, and yet this seemingly unimposing being had managed to inflict such terrible damage, leaving it in disbelief and seething with a towering fury.

Could this insignificant beast dare to attack it, the king, and even injure it?

The head that had not launched an attack glinted, and then a green thick smoke appeared from its mouth. This smoke seemed to be a poisonous flame, and upon its appearance, it exploded into a flood created by the smoke, spraying towards where Jia Yan was!

Roar!!!

As the thick smoke billowed, faint cries of alarm from Souwu could be heard not far from the hidden area. Along with his outcry, there was a hint of regret, knowing that on his last visit, several teammates were no weaker than Jia Yan, with some even stronger dignitaries. But including him, none had any means against the monster’s toxic smoke attack.

Now facing the creature’s toxic smoke attack, Souwu did not believe Jia Yan would escape unscathed, causing his own actions to feel less smooth.

If Jia Yan were gone, the subsequent mission would be fraught with constraints.

”Eh?” Just as Souwu was lamenting, his expression suddenly showed shock.

It turned out that under the attack of the poison fog, although Jia Yan was too late to dodge, his body shook, and he simply shook his head, appearing completely unaffected as he continued to move lightning-fast towards where Souwu was.

Roar!

The monster behind them grew frustrated in its pursuit, its massive body preventing it from turning swiftly. This slowed it down just a tad.

Moreover, it was evident that the previous poison smoke attack had also taken a heavy toll on the monster, whose momentum had now considerably waned. It seemed that the amount of poisonous smoke it could emit from its body had diminished.

Jia Yan circled a colossal mountain that was two thousand meters tall. By the time the monster had lumbered after him and managed to circumnavigate the mountain, hoping to spot Jia Yan’s whereabouts, it abruptly discovered that Jia Yan had vanished from sight!

”Roar roar roar!”

The beast let out a fierce howl, its three heads frantically scanning the surroundings in search of the audacious fool who dared provoke its regal existence.

Yet that seemingly insignificant being appeared to have disappeared without a trace past the mountain, as if it had never been there, leaving no ’Shadow’ behind.

The enormous three-headed monster wandered the vicinity of the mountain strangely, pacing around on the spot. After crawling around for a while, it seemed to confirm that its quarry had indeed gone. Though puzzled by how swiftly the other had escaped, the monster eventually shook its heads and left the area, albeit reluctantly.

Naturally, what the smarter-than-average monster couldn’t fathom was that the very mountain it was on was, in fact, where Jia Yan had been hiding.

Inside the mountain, the two beings who had witnessed the departure of the 250-meter-sized creature making a thunderous racket as it left, both heaved slight sighs of relief.

”There’s something like this here?”

Jia Yan looked around curiously.

He had been led here by Souwu, then squeezed into a large cavity that had opened up in the mountain. Once they were inside, the cavity closed, and the pursuing three-headed monster lost sight of him.

Now that the creature had left, Jia Yan finally had some time to observe the area he had entered and was somewhat stunned to discover that it was the internal section of an enormous battleship!

What stood before him was Souwu, over twenty meters in size. The area where they were standing was the battleship’s bridge.

The entire ship seemed to have suffered considerable damage. Not only was less than half of the lighting operational, but the ship also bore the marks of wear and tear.

This was likely a broken battleship that could no longer take flight.

But it was clear that before suffering any damage, the battleship must have been quite formidable. Just by its current state, it was evident that the whole ship surpassed the Kuditian People’s Camp Grade Spaceship that Jia Yan possessed, stretching a terrifying two kilometers in length. And what was exposed outside was just a tiny fraction of its entire frame.

”Heh, this battleship used to accompany our mercenary squad as we roamed the Star Sea for a long time. Who would have thought it would sink here... and most of them now rest eternally in this place.”

In Souwu’s aged eyes, one could see a look of reminiscence as he glanced around the surrounding hulk of the ship.

”Mercenary squad?” Jia Yan mused over this new term. However, through its literal meaning, he could understand what it was.

”Yes, there’s no point in beating around the bush. I used to be a member of a mercenary squad. Our last mission was to retrieve some rare minerals from the Chaos Starfield. Alas, we stumbled upon this massive planet and even found the Chaos Fruit here. However, we didn’t fully grasp the dangers of this place, and the entire squad met their demise here, with only me barely escaping.”

Souwu looked around the wrecked scenery of the battleship, seemingly lost in memory.

But Jia Yan was not swayed by what Souwu had said. That the entire squad perished here and only Souwu managed to escape left much to question. It was possible that Souwu could have been silencing his squad members.

After all, he had said that only he could escape this Foggy Area with his Space Talent. If he chose not to help, it could have led to the death of the entire squad.

”Alright, let’s not dwell on the past. Let’s talk about what comes next,” Souwu said, knowing that Jia Yan would not simply take his word for anything. After a moment of reflection, he composed himself.

”We are now quite close to the Chaos Fruit in the area we are in. It’s possible to encounter the Chaos Fruit anywhere here.” This time, Souwu pulled out an electronic map. With his claw, he indicated the entire map with a sweep of his paw.

The map displayed a vast tract of land, marked as nearly two hundred kilometers by two hundred kilometers in area.

In ordinary circumstances, flying across such an expanse would take but a few seconds, but in a region swarming with terrifying three-headed monsters, those two hundred kilometers seemed incredibly vast!

”Why is the range so huge, didn’t you say you knew the location? Could the Chaos Fruit actually run away on its own?” Jia Yan suddenly felt a bit uneasy.

”Did I ever say that the Chaos Fruit couldn’t move? That’s right, the Chaos Fruit really can move on its own. In fact, it’s a living creature!” Souwu revealed a fact that somewhat astonished Jia Yan.
