Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1040: Chapter 12 The Intimidation

Accompanied by jets of flame, the entire region of the universe was aglow with the bright light of the battleship propellers.

Over three hundred battleships accelerated and jetted toward the vast screen of light ahead, forming a spectacular sight.

The first battleship, as the leader of the fleet, bore a tremendous impact; the moment it struck the light screen, the entire screen rippled like waves. However, this light screen was clearly no simple thing; after shaking, there were no further disturbances, and a massive wave of energy surged, almost rebounding the battleship entirely.

Fortunately, the battleships behind followed one after the other; the second one completely shattered the light screen, and the third and the fourth further dispersed it, making it easier for the rear battleships to break through!

The ships of the fleet progressed nonstop, entering that bizarre and mysterious region.

In the entirety of the fleet, there was a battleship that looked no different from the others, but all surrounding battleships held it in high regard, clearing a large space around it as if to welcome their leader.

This fleet was the Giant Mosquito Fleet, and the ship that was revered by the surrounding ships was the single-person battleship piloted by Jia Yan!

At this moment, he looked around at the scenery from within his battleship; since the entire fleet was operating in unison, he did not need to steer and could fully enjoy the view before him.

His battleship passed through the center without any sensation of shaking, but from his perspective, some of the nearby battleships were shaking violently; however, this shaking was distributed among each battleship without causing significant harm.

”Truly deserving of being the core of the Chaotic Area, the peripheral regions I’ve experienced before simply cannot compare,” Jia Yan commented with some surprise as he looked at the scenery around him.

The fleet continued forward, exhibiting a penetrating stance, but after breaching through, the fleet’s speed dropped from an extremely high rate to just one percent of the speed of light.

Fortunately, the entire fleet made it through unscathed. This was the advantage of a large fleet—had it been the hundred battleships from before, the likelihood of power system issues upon breaching would have been much higher.

”Lord, I am not familiar with the region ahead. The path I took from the Northern Star Domain to the Desolate Star System was along the periphery of the Chaos Starfield. I suggest handing over command to Mo Ke; his understanding of this place far exceeds mine,” Kama’s communication request came through.

After some thought, Jia Yan agreed.

”That’s fine, but you need to retain the ability to take back command at any moment, otherwise it would be troublesome if the other side pulls some tricks.”

After closing the communication, Jia Yan began to observe the changes around him.

”Entering the interior doesn’t seem much different, the starry sky is still the starry sky, only the surrounding energy sense has become much stronger,” Big Mosquito was most sensitive to the changes in the region’s energy.

At this point, he could feel the universe around him teeming with a terrifying energy; for Jia Yan, the energy feel in some directions was enough to make his heart beat rapidly with fear.

”Fortunately, my energy perception seems a bit stronger than these native beings. Being close to those dangerous regions, I can warn them to stay away,” Jia Yan thought.

The dangers of the Chaos Starfield were mysterious to all the entities within the entire starfield, and even the Strong Ones or fleets that had crossed it couldn’t guarantee they would survive a second entry.

Jia Yan was not afraid of the dangers here because he had confidence in his own strength, but for the entire fleet, he wasn’t as certain about getting them out unscathed.

”Lord, there is a strong space distortion ahead, more than ten times greater than the one we encountered in the outer region. Do we need to detour?” A moment later, Mo Ke sent a communication request.

”Go around it. Leave such basic judgments to you and Kama in the future, no need to consult me,” Jia Yan replied lightly.

”Understood,” Mo Ke’s voice was cut off.

It was clear that the other party was seeking an opportunity to get closer to Jia Yan—after all, they were former enemies. If he wanted to sincerely work under Jia Yan, he needed to forge a good relationship with him.

Of course, such a basic inquiry was unnecessary. Jia Yan would not be foolish enough to order the entire fleet to charge into the extremely dangerous Twisted Territory, so the communication was just to make his presence known to Jia Yan.

Nevertheless, the fact that this Monster was considerate enough to show this concern was satisfying to Jia Yan; after all, if someone didn’t even want to make a good relationship, then their intentions would truly have to be questioned.

The fleet as a whole maintained a speed of one percent the speed of light, circling around in front of them in a large loop.

”Lord, we’ve got a problem—the area ahead in the Twisted Territory turns out to be an asteroid belt, which clearly wasn’t there when I last entered,” Mo Ke’s somewhat anxious voice came through, and this time it wasn’t about pulling connections, but a real crisis.

”Is there no way to avoid it?” Jia Yan turned equally solemn.

”There’s no way to avoid it. The entire region ahead is filled with small interstellar materials. Although our speed isn’t fast, it is still one percent of the speed of light. Now we have two options, one is to maintain such a speed and smash through the entire interstellar materials region from a small angle, but this plan is too risky. The second option is to reduce speed with all efforts, as long as the speed is reduced, there wouldn’t be any danger even if we collide, only that too rapid a deceleration would damage the engines of the entire fleet, so the choice of method depends on you, Lord,” Kama’s voice interjected.

Just entering the core of the Chaos Starfield and encountering such a crisis was indeed a tough welcoming challenge.

Jia Yan, somewhat frustrated, thought it over for a moment and felt that the dangers within the entire core region were too many. If they didn’t reduce the speed, the dangers they would face in the future would definitely be greater. After all, even one percent of the speed of light was not to be taken lightly. Colliding with anything would be enough to destroy the entire fleet.

”Let’s reduce speed after all, the current situation is too dangerous,” Jia Yan made his decision before long.

As if they knew Jia Yan’s decision well in advance, the two temporary commanders didn’t hesitate too much and directly went to convey the orders.

Perhaps because neither side had emerged stronger from their last battle, Kama and Mo Ke were both showing some signs of rivalry, both notifying the ships with extreme efficiency and unconsciously organizing the former members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet separately from the newly surrendered fleet for assignments.

Of course, the members from both sides had long been mixed, and there was no talk of old and new factions at this moment. Each took orders from their respective commanding superiors.

Under their efficiency and a series of correct commands, the fleets from both sides began to slow down at almost the same rate.

”Group Five is showing signs of engine overheating and requires the assistance of Groups Three and Six to slow down. But be careful yourselves as well; don’t let your engines overheat or malfunction.”

”Group Seven has gone off course. What is the squadron commander doing? How could you let the whole squadron veer off like this? Pull it back quickly. You know that during rapid movement, even a slight deviation now can lead to the entire squadron losing control.”

A stream of voices issued from both commanders. As good hands in command of their respective area segments, they competed fiercely on equal terms.

Fortunately, the relationship between the two was fairly close, after all, both served under Jia Yan. Although their subordinates had slowly formed factions over dozens of days and even seemed somewhat displeased with each other usually, appropriate competition within a group is a good thing. Jia Yan turned a blind eye to their affairs.

At the moment, both parties seemed to be competing to see who could do better. Those who were scolded felt their faces burn with embarrassment and vowed to do better next time, thus a healthy competition emerged!

During the rapid deceleration, about three battleships had engine problems, while the others needed slow-speed maintenance and repairs, which was akin to maintenance. Fortunately, there was no need to rush on their journey after that, so for the entire fleet, this loss was almost negligible.

In the starry sky, more than three hundred ships traveled at a slow speed among a series of interstellar materials. The three hundred ships together smashed directly through the small interstellar materials in front of them, and the larger ones were destroyed with cannon fire.

”It seems that these interstellar materials were formed in a very short period of time. Mo Ke’s statement wasn’t wrong. Lord, I’ve observed his command ability these past few days and it’s indeed quite seasoned. Aside from not having systematic learning experience, I cannot match him at all in practical combat.”

Amid the constant collisions with the interstellar materials, most of the battleships were shaking. After all, although they said they slowed down the speed, the actual speed of the fleet at this moment, as seen by Earth people, was still extremely fast—seven or eight kilometers a second. Thus, the collisions became a normal occurrence. Of course, at this speed, collisions were not so dangerous for battleships.

”Hmm, continue observing him, and tell me if there’s any unusual movement,” Jia Yan said indifferently.

”Okay, if there’s nothing else, I’m closing the communication, Boss!” Kama’s voice came from the communicator, and then the communication was cut.

For Mo Ke, naturally, Jia Yan wasn’t easy to trust, but thankfully the fleet’s personnel had been dispersed. Plus, the other side’s family and loyalties were in his hands. For Big Mosquito, Mo Ke currently posed no significant risk of betrayal.

As time slowly passed, within the mysterious core region of the Chaos Starfield, in this vast area, only a very small number of ships had ever left traces.

Yet now, a fleet was traveling steadily through it, and no major crisis occurred during the journey—it was a miracle.

”Mo Ke, don’t go over to that area ahead, go around it.”

A voice appeared in the communicator as the fleet continued its journey.
