Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1043: Chapter 15: A Gigantic Planet with a Diameter of Million Kilometers!

We had reached the most terrifying place in the Chaos Starfield, yet the entire fleet had suffered fewer than double-digit casualties, and those few had received a fleet-wide memorial. It was almost unbelievable to feel such a strong sense of safety upon arriving in the Chaos Starfield. The Giant Mosquito Fleet couldn’t help but relax!

”Alright, let’s conclude the meeting here. Next, I will enter the mysterious planet alone. You will send a team of remotely operated robots to accompany me as we mine for minerals and seize rare treasures. Some important items I will personally bring back up. Everyone, go and select the robot operators who will go down with me, and do it quickly. Dismissed!”

When Lord Jia Yan gave the order, the captains in the meeting filed out one by one, eager to return to their own battleships. Selecting their subordinates who were adept at remote controlling was a rare opportunity to work closely with Lord Jia Yan. Most of them, already skilled in operations, had decided they wanted to personally operate the robots and accompany Jia Yan to the planet!

”Kama, go check if old Souwu is dead. If he isn’t, tell him to hold on a bit longer as I’ll be bringing him the Life-Extension Stone.”

As everyone left, Jia Yan began speaking to Kama and a few other high-ranking members left in the large space.

”There’s no need, Lord Jia Yan. Let me accompany you. I’ve been here once before and am familiar with the terrain. It might be of some help to you.”

Just as Kama was about to respond, a thick scent of death filled the air from the main door of the large area, and a staggering figure limped into view.

”Souwu?” Jia Yan was slightly surprised. He hadn’t expected this man to have woken up, and what was more, the scent of death had permeated the entire Camp-Level Spaceship to the point that even Jia Yan had not noticed his approach.

”My Lord, my mind is quite clear now. I hope you will allow me to join you. There’s something there I wish to obtain. Of course, I will share it with you!” Souwu said.

Jia Yan looked deeply at this Starry Sky Level Expert, his sole Starry Sky Level subordinate. It wasn’t easy to attract such Star-level Existences. Even the top strong ones had only a handful of Starry Sky Level subordinates after operating in the Desolate Star System for so long, demonstrating the difficulty of recruiting such powerful beings.

Souwu had clung to Jia Yan by chance; now, at a crucial juncture, he had regained a bit of consciousness. For Jia Yan, he represented a potentially disruptive element.

”Trust me, my Lord. I truly have no ill intentions toward you. If I really can extend my life, I would like to continue serving under your command! After all, you’re someone who could potentially reach the Stellar Level!” There was a hint of sincerity in Souwu’s aged expression.

Jia Yan continued to watch Souwu, then let out a light laugh.

”Souwu. Come with me. I’m not sure what you desire, but it must be something valuable. I’m looking forward to it.”

”Thank you for granting me permission,” Souwu said with a faint smile of joy, quickly expressing his gratitude to Jia Yan.

Watching the old Souwu joyfully preparing to depart, Kama expressed concern to Jia Yan, ”Lord, Souwu’s purpose is unclear. Do you truly trust him?”

Jia Yan glanced at Kama and then shook his head slightly without saying anything, his Compound Eyes flickering with sharpness.

Kama wasn’t on the path of the Strong Ones and didn’t understand Souwu’s gaze. However, to Jia Yan, Souwu’s eyes were like a bright lamp, somewhat impacting his spirit. The Strong One had hovered between life and death for so long, struggling just to keep himself alive. To him, nothing was more intense than the desire to survive.

Jia Yan could tell from Souwu’s eyes that the latter was entirely focused on surviving. He believed such a being posed no threat to him. Besides, Souwu’s power was no longer significant to Jia Yan. If there was any slight movement, Jia Yan could easily kill him!

Of course, these thoughts were not suitable to share with Kama, so Jia Yan simply chose not to respond.

”Alright, go get ready. They say that once we enter, this mysterious celestial body will release some fluctuating energies. If we don’t set up defenses, the fleet may suffer damage,” Jia Yan directly told Kama.

...

After an entire day of preparation, the Giant Mosquito Fleet, lingering outside the mysterious celestial body, finally began to act around the immense planet.

The entire fleet drew closer to the celestial body.

For an ordinary huge planet, they would never dare approach so closely, but for this one with weak gravity, the entire fleet approached to within nearly three hundred kilometers. They felt a gravitational pull, which stopped them in their tracks.

The reason was that this huge planet had a surprisingly small gravitational field, much like its weak gravity; it barely affected the surrounding interstellar matter.

”Distance one hundred, stellar radiation at normal levels, active substances disrupted.”

”Stellar atmosphere chaotic, composition unclear, unable to detect the planetary surface.”

”...”

Similar announcements filled the fleet, and over the course of a day, the Giant Mosquito Fleet had collected a vast amount of data on the celestial body.

Of course, this data didn’t seem to be of much help for the Big Mosquito to land.

”Remote-controlled robots ready to deploy, Lord, we can set off now.”

Just outside that immense celestial body, in the outermost area of the fleet, there clustered a terrifying multitude of Metal Monsters.

These Metal Monsters, each standing over ten meters tall with ferocious expressions, some even armed with combat weapons, closely resembled an Army of Metallic Monsters.

For Jia Yan, using the Army of Metallic Monsters was a bit reluctant; after all, he had been somewhat wary of these things since his birth in this lifetime, but now there was no other option.

By his side was an army of over a thousand Metal Monsters, unlike any Metal Monsters Jia Yan had known before. Each one was remotely operated by members of the fleet and were seasoned operators at that—they had been selectively picked from over thirty thousand members of the Giant Mosquito Fleet.

The Metal Robots varied in strength. Since the fleet rarely used them, some mining-specific robots were even included to barely make up a thousand-strong force. Of course, if this army were to face those so-called Metal Monsters Jia Yan had dealt with before, it would absolutely crush the opposition; the technological content was simply not on the same level.

”Descend!”

Jia Yan, surrounded by the Army of Metallic Monsters, gave the command, and took the lead diving towards the planet below!

Beside him, a monster exceeding twenty meters in size exuded an aura of age mixed with a hint of excitement. It flapped its wings and followed Jia Yan downwards.

Who else could it be but the old Monster Souwu?

Behind the two of them, a multitude of Metal Monsters, each with a different form, followed suit in their descent like dumplings being dropped into water.

Ahead of the entire fleet loomed the massive planet, so enormous that it was nearly indescribable; the more than three hundred battleships floating a mere one hundred kilometers above the surface seemed like toys in comparison, and the planetary horizon stretched out flat and seemingly infinite.

Even more so for Jia Yan, he held no contempt for this quirky planet. If not for the Gravity being a mere five times that of Earth due to a balance created by the twisted spaces at the center of the Chaos Starfield, Jia Yan wouldn’t dare come close. The Gravitational force of such a huge planet would surely be terrifying—to fall into it might mean being instantly crushed to pieces, and even Bluish defense might not be much use.

Luckily, the planet’s Gravity was not substantial. In truth, if there was such an intense Gravitational force, the first thing unable to endure it would likely be the planet itself.

More than a thousand figures, like shooting stars, plummeted towards the terrain of the planet.

”Lord, this isn’t the area I’m familiar with, so I don’t know the specific conditions below. However, we are closer to the mysterious land I found before; I believe we won’t need many days to arrive there,” Souwu said to Jia Yan amidst the flames caused by entering the planet’s atmosphere.

”Not a familiar area? Then why lead me to descend from here?” Jia Yan asked, slightly uncomfortable.

”Lord, don’t you understand my intention? This planet is simply too large. Do you know how long it would take to reach the mysterious place if we were to travel from where I initially descended? Heh, even moving in a straight line at our speed, it would still take more than a day or two to possibly get there. This planet is really too big,” Souwu said somewhat emotionally.

”Well, that’s true, I hope the area you are taking us to now isn’t dangerous,” Jia Yan acknowledged with a nod.

He understood Souwu’s words; despite his confidence in his own speed, facing a planet with a diameter exceeding one and a half million kilometers was overwhelming, even for Jia Yan. Was his speed fast? In the Early Stars stage, he could cover tens to nearly a hundred kilometers of Earth in one second.

Now, even faster, going all out in flight he could probably match the speed of an average civilian spaceship. But for a celestial body over a million kilometers in diameter, it was still too slow, let alone that many places on this planet were said to be highly restrictive—some even limiting Brainwave Power. In that case, saving even a bit of time was worthwhile.

The second update is here. I’m not accustomed to double updates, so the second one might be late; I hope everyone doesn’t mind.
