Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1046: Chapter 18 Fog Monster! [First Update]

Seeing the other party not getting to the point, Jia Yan grew somewhat impatient within his heart, but because he didn’t want to startle the snake, he restrained himself from erupting.

Old Monster Suowu continued speaking.

”Of course, when I first met you, I couldn’t imagine that your strength would improve so quickly. Believe it or not, at that time, I was truly out of my mind, searching instinctively for someone who could fly in this place where Brainwave Power cannot be used. I had no real hope for success, but life is unpredictable—I never thought that, before my death, I would truly return here, and it’s even you who brought me back. Heh ... perhaps this is a sign from heaven that I am destined to achieve the Eternal Star Rank?”

”Stop beating around the bush. Just tell me, what exactly do you want me to do?”

Just as he spoke so much, merely clarifying some of Jia Yan’s doubts but still not revealing what he wanted Jia Yan to do, Jia Yan could hardly hold back, feeling uneasy and spoke to interrupt him!

Old Monster Suowu hid too deep, even Jia Yan couldn’t see his true face. Although some of it was due to the other party’s previously clouded consciousness, Jia Yan took that as an excuse. If Old Monster Suowu had indeed attacked him before, he would have surely died.

Jia Yan made a decision, that in the future, he must not be so careless!

”Lord Jia Yan, you’re not someone who gets anxious easily, heh. I won’t hide it from you; I want you to accompany me to collect the Chaos Fruit. I alone don’t have full confidence. Of course, my previous words had no malice towards you—that’s true. The Chaos Fruit I mentioned is a treasure I named myself. I saw it several decades ago; there were two of them. We could each take one. Surely you wouldn’t be unmoved by something that can boost the chances of Advancement to Eternal Star Rank?”

”Oh?” something stirred in Jia Yan’s heart, the words spoken by the other provoking some thoughts in him.

He dared not confirm if the other’s words were true, but he had some confidence in his own strength and had a great need for substances that could enhance the chances of Advancement to Eternal Star Rank.

”Fine, I’ll go with you to see. However, I won’t blindly follow your words in the future. If I find any danger, forgive me for not daring to take risks with you. When the time comes, no matter what you tell me about the method to leave, I’ll still go,” he suppressed the urge to grab the other and interrogate him, and spoke directly.

”Heh, alright, trust me, you won’t regret this decision,” Old Monster Suowu said, feeling uplifted by Jia Yan’s words.

He had waited so many years, having long given up on his current plan to slowly die of old age in the Desolate Star System, where no one knew him. Unexpectedly, in his old, senile state, he had stumbled back here. Now, exerting his last bit of strength, it was either live or die; if he could get Jia Yan’s help, that would be the best.

Two giant life forms took flight together.

Watching Old Monster Suowu in front of him, Jia Yan’s heart continually pondered the other’s true intentions. Old Monster Suowu’s concealment was too much; at this point, Jia Yan couldn’t believe at all that the other had no ulterior motives towards him.

”When absolutely necessary, I’ll have to fight this old man. Looking at him, he has some strength, and being smaller than me, he likely takes the path of speed. I hope it won’t come to blows, though—he was a colleague, after all,” Jia Yan thought somberly in his Compound Eyes.

As their speed slowly ascended, Jia Yan felt something strangely distorted around him. With some surprise, he looked ahead and was shocked to discover that it was Old Monster Suowu causing a space distortion.

”Lord, you probably haven’t been at a high-space level for long, and your understanding of space isn’t deep, right? I’ve been at the Lord Level for a few hundred years. Other than figuring out how to advance to Eternal Star Rank, I’ve also gained some insights into space, and that’s the real reason I managed to escape from here with my life decades ago.”

Old Monster Suowu seemed to sense Jia Yan’s thoughts and addressed them directly.

”This mysterious fog carries an odd electronic force field that disrupts the perception of living beings, and this is unavoidable. However, my spatial ability can break through these fogs to the greatest extent, as you can see. This is indeed the real reason I survived here before.”

It appeared that the other party had straightforwardly told him that without him, it would be extremely difficult for Jia Yan to leave.

Jia Yan quietly noted the importance of understanding space.

Just as the two creatures flew deeper, the surrounding gray fog nearly reached its peak!

Suddenly, a creature as massive as a mountain, resembling a three-headed dog flying up from hell, burst forth from the ground and rushed toward the leading Old Monster Suowu!

”Be careful, this monster is not to be trifled with!”

Old Monster Suowu didn’t forget to warn Jia Yan following behind. Then, with a flash of his body, he broke through the space in front of him and teleported away.

So fast!

Jia Yan knew beforehand that the other’s strength might lie in speed, but witnessing Old Monster Suowu’s real speed still surprised him.

Of course, he also remembered his own situation. As Old Monster Suowu fled, Jia Yan was exposed behind him, and the huge monster charged forward, opening its blood-filled mouth to bite at Jia Yan.

This monster indeed bore a striking resemblance to the three-headed dogs depicted in some Earth religions. It had three heads like evil dragons, and its body stretched over one hundred meters. What was even more terrifying was that thick fog spewed out of its three huge mouths.

The fog was absolutely frightening; even from such a distance, Jia Yan felt affected by the fog, feeling his head start to spin.

”Ow!”

One of the heads of the Three-headed Monster viciously bit towards where Jia Yan was located, causing a shock in Jia Yan’s heart. He barely moved his wings!

He sped up, and though his Brainwave Power was almost unusable at the moment, his body had become a bit sluggish.

Fortunately, the opponent’s body was huge. Although its biting speed was fast, it still couldn’t surpass Jia Yan’s evasive speed. In a moment, Jia Yan evaded just in time, narrowly dodging it.

”Be careful of its fog; it can affect the brain’s electrical waves of creatures,” Souwu’s voice appeared beside Jia Yan.

Simultaneously, Souwu’s incredibly fast body flashed beside the Three-headed Monster, and then he struck one of its heads with his claw.

Jia Yan looked somewhat icily at the current scene. Although the Three-headed Monster’s fog was powerful, it seemed still not enough for him; he just felt a bout of dizziness which he had already recovered from.

That strike from Souwu didn’t seem powerful, merely slapping on one of the heads’ foreheads in the fog, yet it created a tumult akin to a tsunami.

The whole monster twisted its body violently, letting out a loud and pitiful scream, one of its heads splitting cleanly into two from the middle as if cut by a sharp knife.

After the painful scream, it clearly realized that the two beings in front of it were beyond its capability to deal with. The remaining two heads, after spraying angry looks from their four eyes, no longer attacked but instead dodged backward into the fog, evidently intending to retreat.

And at that moment, Jia Yan’s voice emerged!

”Where do you think you’re going, since you’ve come, you might as well die here,” he said indifferently.

His sharp forelimbs emerged, and what was more terrifying was that each forelimb aimed at a head, stabbing viciously towards the creature’s vital areas!

The two heads didn’t seem to share the same mind; seeing Jia Yan’s attack, they panicked and tried to escape in separate directions. However, the two heads pulled against each other, and they actually couldn’t escape.

Jia Yan’s forelimbs stabbed each head, piercing straight into their brains!

However, when Jia Yan stabbed them to death, a fierce mist sprayed from the two heads, spewing out into the surrounding air, filling the entire space with an eerie smell.

But Jia Yan was already prepared. As the mist emerged, a mysterious azure hue appeared from his body, and the mist was then blocked outside his body.

”Lord Jia Yan truly is the being capable of killing Rong Bo; this strength is not to be underestimated,” Souwu, whose body had unknowingly moved a hundred meters away, looked at Jia Yan’s ability to kill the Three-headed Monster with some surprise.

Clearly, Jia Yan didn’t possess this strength when he killed Rong Bo tens of days ago, but now he seemed to have made progress. This Talent made Souwu feel a mix of envy and wariness.

Jia Yan was also wary of the other’s speed and unshown strength.

”Alright, Old Monster Souwu, your strength also surprises me, but now is not the time for mutual flattery. Let’s quickly go to that place you mentioned, get the Chaos Fruit, and leave here,” he said lightly.

Afterward, the two didn’t talk much. With mutual wariness, they avoided friction and quickly flew towards their target.

This fog’s energy was extremely terrifying, not just simple energy, but it also affected the brain waves of creatures, and Jia Yan even had the illusion—could this be human-made? Otherwise, how could it so coincidentally interfere with the creature’s Brainwave Power, just enough to make them unable to fly?

But these were all speculations. For Jia Yan, getting out of here safely was the top priority now.

It seemed that this vast Fog Monster was a native resident here, and towards Jia Yan and Souwu, two foreign creatures, most of them were hostile, while others were merely curious. Luckily, most of these monsters had strength below the Star Space Level; besides their terrifying fog attack, their other methods had little effect on Jia Yan and Souwu.

”Die!”
