Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1044: Chapter 16 Shock! [First Update]

Surrounding them was an indescribably oppressive atmosphere unlike that of most terrestrial planets Jia Yan knew; the entire atmosphere seemed like a solid substance. When Jia Yan and his team broke through, they felt an incredibly terrifying resistance!

”Uh?”

As they strained to break through the dense atmosphere, Jia Yan’s heart suddenly skipped a beat!

Crack!!!!——————

A tremendous sound echoed through the sky!

Jia Yan was startled, and then he only felt a light as fast as lightning bombard him from all sides.

”Be careful!”

Before his warning had fully escaped him, a remotely controlled metal robot at his side exploded with a bang, and its body, sparkling with sparks, fell to the ground.

”Lightning?” Jia Yan looked at the atmosphere, the thick clouds lit up with flashes of lightning that were previously undetectable due to the high concentration of the atmosphere.

”Lord, there was no lightning where I descended before, no... maybe I forgot!” Souwu said with some self-reproach.

”It’s fine. This degree of lightning doesn’t have much effect on the Star Space Level. Just be careful yourself; the robots don’t matter,” Jia Yan said lightly.

With the protection of the robots, the two plunged directly into the region of dense atmosphere.

Afterward, they both felt as if their bodies had been viciously bathed in electricity.

”Boss, when we scouted earlier, the lightning phenomenon on the surface of the planet wasn’t this severe. You’ve just descended and it’s like you’ve triggered some mechanism, lightning appeared; be careful.”

Kama’s voice came through the communicator.

Jia Yan had no time to respond to her. At that moment, numerous bolts of lightning struck his body, but they were directly blocked by his defense.

The armor on Souwu’s body also protected him, and even the robots with slightly better armor suffered no serious damage, although some of the mining-grade robots were short-circuited and damaged by the lightning.

The threat of lightning wasn’t great, and after losing more than a hundred slightly weaker robots, they landed on the ground.

The entire world was shrouded in a hazy gray, and Jia Yan’s body was Mosquito, who didn’t fear darkness; however, what surprised him was that this mysterious planet’s surface actually had light!

The glowing substances were some scale-shining material on the ground, spreading wide like fireflies, lighting up the land.

Their color was blue, which made the entire surface of the planet look somewhat eerie to Jia Yan.

”Lord, let’s head that way. Of course, you can send a few robots to collect some of these glowing stones; they are valued minerals in the outside world, but they are trivial in comparison to this planet,” Souwu suggested, noticing Jia Yan’s surprise at the sight of the Scale-shining Stones.

In the end, Jia Yan didn’t take any Scale-shining Stones, because Kama had said over the communicator that these stones were not uncommon in the outside world, it was just unusual that they were spread across the whole planetary surface.

”Lord, the ore over there is natural alloy, and of the highest quality. If you need it, you can have robots collect it,” Souwu said as they passed a gray substance.

”Okay,” Jia Yan replied, quite satisfied to have an experienced guide like Souwu. Though they had encountered an incident upon landing, the loss was minor, and now was the time for the robots to harvest.

One by one, the remotely operated robots began mining the nearby minerals.

Using the latest technology with quantum communication, these robots suffered no significant signal loss within a range of over a hundred kilometers. For the operators above, now was their chance to prove their mettle, so they carried out the mining willingly enough; after all, there were more than enough people vying for their job.

Jia Yan watched as a succession of machines entered the alloy region, and then he led another group of robots forward.

The massive fifty-meter figure, on a planet where the edge was not visible at a glance, seemed hardly worth mentioning.

Not just Jia Yan, but even with hundreds of robots by his side, this army was insignificant compared to the entire planet before them.

They kicked up a storm of wind and sand as they moved forward.

This planet did have an atmosphere, but it was not the normal kind of air. For humans, it was an air filled with horrifying toxins. The high concentration of oxygen on the planet’s surface could cause spontaneous explosions.

A robot accidentally collided with a pebble on the ground, and with a bang, the air exploded!

The explosion set off a chain reaction in the surrounding air, turning at least a fifty-meter radius into ruins!

Fortunately, Big Mosquito and Souwu were no ordinary creatures, and such explosions could not harm them. Only two robots that were relatively close were damaged by the blast wave and were directly destroyed.

”The loss is not serious. Be careful with your operations from now on. The conditions here are quite harmful to the robots. Souwu and I will head to another area. Just communicate with me if there’s anything important.”

Jia Yan decided to move independently with Souwu since he saw that the robots couldn’t be of much help to him.

”Lord, this area is not very dangerous. It is wise to leave them here to gather resources. However, the battleships that are dispatched later to collect the ores should be cautious. The air and wind pressure here can cause some damage to the battleship’s surface,” Souwu said.

”Mm, Kama and the others have briefed me about this, and they will be prepared. Let’s head to that amazing area you mentioned,” Jia Yan nodded.

The two of them shot up into the sky.

Jia Yan found the situation here intriguing. To him, although the state of the entire planet was bizarre, it didn’t seem overly dangerous. Apart from a few areas that gave him a sense of caution regarding energy levels, he had no other feelings. Could this really be the most dangerous place in the Chaos Starfield that everyone feared?

Souwu, noticing Jia Yan’s confusion, explained while they flew, ”Lord, the area we are in is one of the few safe zones on this Mysterious Giant Star. It took countless efforts and sacrifices for our predecessors to identify these few safe areas. That’s why those robots can safely gather resources there.”

”Isn’t it said that the Chaos Starfield is extremely dangerous and that hardly a few powers have explored it?” Jia Yan asked with curiosity.

”That’s a rumor from the outside. If you really study the information about this place, you’ll see that it’s not that no powers have explored it. It’s just that the effort invested does not balance the gains. That’s why no powers gradually come here. Most powers cannot overcome the dangers of the starry sky like our fleet did. They do not possess your ability to avert danger, Lord,” Souwu said, admiringly looking at Jia Yan as he regained most of his normal state.

Jia Yan was surprised. His expectations for this place were very high, but he felt somewhat uncomfortable learning that some powers had already come here to explore.

”Lord, don’t be unhappy. The gains those powers made here weren’t significant. Saying that the gains here are not worth the effort is just their excuse. Not to mention anything else, just this incredibly huge planet alone, they haven’t explored even one-thousandth of it. How could they claim there’s nothing valuable here? Even the spot I am taking you to has never been visited by any power. Only I know about it!”

Souwu’s words bolstered Jia Yan’s confidence once more. However, he also found Souwu’s statements a bit odd.

”Souwu, when exactly did you come here before, and why did you risk coming to this place? I can’t figure it out; a City Lord from the Desolate Star System would take such a risk. And with what power did you come here? Like you said, the dangers of the outside world are not something the average power can cross,” Jia Yan knew that his ability to sense was due to being an Evolutionary Creature and not belonging to this starfield, which made him more sensitive to energy than the local life forms. He realized that without his two conditions, it would be virtually impossible for any strong creature to safely reach this place. Souwu had been here before, which suggested that he must have cooperated with a formidable power, at least at the level of Rong Bo’s fleet.

Souwu gave a wry smile upon hearing Jia Yan’s question.

”Lord, what can I say about you? I envy talents like you. Unlike you, we are different. As we grow older, we have to scramble for our lifespans. I was busy for the sake of my future life at that time, otherwise who would come to such a dreadful place?”

Jia Yan thoughtfully nodded. Honestly, he couldn’t comprehend concerns about life span limits. For an Evolutionary Creature, lifespan was hardly an issue; most were either killed or failed to overcome a transformation and died. Of course, Jia Yan learned all this during his time in the Orion Arm, where he read extensively. He initially thought Evolutionary Creatures would be abundant, but after researching, he found there were fewer than ten recorded even in the Orion Arm!

In any case, every Evolutionary Creature either disappeared or died; none succumbed to lifespan issues.

Thus, he could not understand Souwu’s point of view.

Leaving the robots to gather resources, Jia Yan and his companion sped off into a distant region...

The two giant creatures slowly merged into the thick atmosphere and eventually disappeared from sight.

”Hmm?”

Just as Jia Yan and his companion reached a speed of eight kilometers per second, entering a region five thousand kilometers away from the robots, Kama in the fleet above—only a hundred kilometers away—was suddenly startled!

Simultaneously, the Communication Soldier beside him was also shocked!
