Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 385: Chapter 17 Frog Monster!【Seeking for Genuine Subscription】_1

Jia Yan’s body had now reached a length of seventeen meters. With such a massive body, it would be a tall tale to say he could drink enough blood to satisfy his hunger.

Unless he had a thirty-meter-long blue whale, or even several, to feast on, he would not be able to satiate his hunger. The blue whale would die first.

But as things stood, there were no blue whales around. As for Daphne – it would be better for him to avoid her even though she was a mighty representative of the alien species. Even if he completely drained her of blood, Jia Yan reckoned his mouthparts would hardly be moistened by the blood.

And who knew if her blood might be poisonous?

Lost in his thoughts, Jia Yan slowly drifted into sleep. After all, he had been exhausted from the past several hours, maintaining his bluish defense for too long had been hard to bear even for him.

He had no idea how much time had passed; it could have been several hours, or maybe one or two days.

Just as the starving Jia Yan was gradually stirred awake by his feelings of hunger...

Squelch!

Squelch!

Squelch squelch!

At a distance from him, strange sounds started suddenly resonating.

He suddenly opened his eyes!

Simultaneously, he saw the red-haired Daphne, who had been lying near him on the ground, also opened her eyes.

The woman looked skywards in a daze.

However, in an instant, she noticed that her surroundings were different from any scenery she remembered. The woman was taken aback.

She quickly turned over to see a beast-like creature, nearly the size of a small hill, crawling next to her.

A pair of compound eyes that emitted a subdued glow stared at her, the tremendous pressure from the superior creature was practically tangible, leaving the woman gasping for breath.

Her memory was still frozen at the day before in the Earth Auro Research Institute, when she used her secret weapon on the Big Mosquito for the second time.

How could he possibly forgive her now?!

So, her face immediately turned deathly pale at this moment. Being so close to the Big Mosquito, if he harbored any hostility towards her, she would be utterly doomed.

But on seeing her awake, the Big Mosquito only indifferently said, ”Don’t make a sound,” and then ignored her.

Daphne’s face relaxed a little, but she then remembered the strangeness of their surroundings. It was unlike any place she had seen throughout their time in the Solar System!

At this moment, her face turned paler as she seemed to have realized something. Jia Yan, however, was too busy staying alert to his surroundings to notice her changes in expressions.

Jia Yan didn’t pay attention to her anymore, but she started observing the surroundings herself. It didn’t take long for her to figure out the situation. There were sounds of approaching heavy bodies.

The world at this time was slightly dim. Above this planet, there was a ball of flame that looked dimmer than the sun. However, it was gradually sinking towards the horizon and appeared as if it would disappear entirely in a while.

Jia Yan also glanced at the giant celestial body above his head. This kind of scenery was impossible to witness on Earth. Or rather, he, Jia Yan, was probably the first creature to witness the rise and fall of another galaxy’s sun.

But there wasn’t much time for sentimentality, as Jia Yan could sense those enormous creatures getting closer. It won’t be long before they come to their vicinity.

Crack crack crack!!!

Sound echoed in the nearby land, breaking the still of the gray-yellow forest. The abruptness of the sound was like a jarring beat over one’s heartbeat, incredibly oppressive.

Jia Yan, being a highly seasoned combat creature, could gauge the fighting capabilities of these creatures from the size of their infrared heat source and the fluctuations while they moved.

These creatures were definitely not to be trifled with!

A hint of terror shone in the gleaming compound eyes of Jia Yan!

Although he still had no idea what sort of place this was, he was not deterred from elevating his assessment of the danger at this location to the next level!

Suddenly!

Just when Jia Yan thought he had managed to evade these creatures!

His biologically evolved sensing organs detected that these behemoths were moving at rapid speed, astonishingly close, just three or four hundred meters away from them!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! ——————————

A series of roaring sounds spontaneously erupted from not too far away!

These formidable creatures possessed sensory organs similar to those of Jia Yan. At this moment, each of them started to move, barreling toward the location where Jia Yan and the other person were!

”We’re in trouble!” Jia Yan did not attempt to hide his shock. Or to put it another way, he was used to being powerful on Earth, but it’s normal to be incredibly alarmed when suddenly encountering entities that could easily detect his life form, right?!

However, his long-honed fighting instincts enabled him to respond quickly!

He swiftly picked up Daphne, who was still in a state of horror, with one of his forelegs!

It seemed the woman had realized their current predicament. When Jia Yan’s sharp foreleg stabbed toward her, she offered no resistance. Instead, she willingly allowed herself to be picked up by a single thrust of his foreleg!

Very good, very cooperative!

Jia Yan silently commended her for her compliance. If Daphne had resisted at this point, his capture approach would have turned into a real stab, killing her immediately!

After all, under the current circumstances, he couldn’t afford to show mercy. Who knew what these creatures really were? If he escaped and Daphne was captured, and if these creatures were intelligent species, they could possibly learn about his situation through Daphne. Jia Yan couldn’t afford to leave Daphne alive!

Even if these creatures weren’t intelligent, or if they were intelligent and had a civilization but couldn’t communicate with Daphne, Jia Yan didn’t know this, so he had to proceed as if they could!

Fortunately, the woman didn’t do anything foolish.

After picking her up, Jia Yan spread his wings!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! ——————

Suddenly, he used his Brainwave Power to confront the pursuing giant monsters that had appeared in front of him!

Altogether, there were five of these creatures, each one with a face that resembled a frog. And each one was about seven to eight meters tall!

The only odd thing was they had four legs. Their upper torsos stood tall, with two arms extending from their shoulders, and in the hand of each arm - which had four digits - they held weapons made of wood or metal. While they may have appeared primitive, the gleam coming from the objects made Jia Yan treat them very seriously!

To the monsters, it seemed they recognized the giant figure of Jia Yan and showed human-like expressions of shock on their frog-like faces!

After all, while Jia Yan was terrified of these monsters, the sudden appearance of a creature that was 17 to 18 meters long, standing taller than any of them, was definitely a surprising sight to them!

However, when they saw Big Mosquito trying to flee, they quickly assessed the situation and recognized that this strange giant life form appeared to be afraid of them. Therefore they had nothing to worry about and it was time to attack!

A Frog Monster, who appeared to have a higher status than the other four, held a thick stick made of wood in its hand that was half a meter thick, and aimed it at Big Mosquito that was flapping its wings to fly away!

”Roar! ——”

It took a deep breath, and from its wide open mouth, it emitted a roar that could shake heaven and earth!

Its body visibly swelled, and pointing in the direction of Jia Yan’s attempted flight, it smashed its stick hard at Jia Yan! (To be continued. If you like this novel, please vote for it on qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. For mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
