Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

55: Chapter 16 Infiltrate the Factory!

[Please Favorite]_1 55: Chapter 16 Infiltrate the Factory!

[Please Favorite]_1 Jia Yan was hiding among the trees.

The potential enemy he faced now had become humans.

Naturally, he dared not try anything like a breakthrough or a direct attack anymore.

So while he was waiting for an opportunity, he was also observing every detail in the factory, looking for any possible opportunity, no matter how slim!

There were three large buildings.

The office building, which had been full of flaws before, was thoroughly refurbished this time.

Aluminum alloy plates were installed one by one to block all possible entrances for insects.

As for the two large buildings serving as workshops, they were originally the core buildings of a military agency decades ago, so they were relatively secure in defense.

The only alteration made was the addition of aluminum alloy plates in some overlooked areas.

Jia Yan was observing them,

“Hmm…” Suddenly, Jia Yan saw something.

“A water pipe!” Jia Yan saw a straight pipe extending from the bottom of one building used as a workshop, leading directly into the building.

This pipe must have been added afterwards, as it was made of PVC material that was only used recently.

Thanks to his enhanced vision after the mutation, Jia Yan could clearly see the pipe.

As for its usefulness, he would have to inspect it in person!

Jia Yan took off.

“There is a camera here.” Jia Yan looked in a certain direction to see a camera installed high above.

Although he wasn’t afraid of being captured on film, as it would take security at least a few minutes to arrive, he didn’t want his exploration being disturbed, so he spread his wings and flew high into the sky.

Perhaps this factory wasn’t prepared for the appearance of a mutated flying creature, so there were no cameras surveilling up high.

Jia Yan arrived at the pipe.

This location was already out of the camera’s view.

Jia Yan stealthily landed.

The huge mosquito body landed next to the pipe, examining it closely.

It was indeed a PVC water pipe, with a diameter of about twenty centimeters, rather thick.

“This must be the main pipe for industrial wastewater drainage.

Let’s see if there is a place to enter!”

Jia Yan took off and hovered above, observing minute changes on the ground.

A drainage grate with holes appeared in Jia Yan’s line of sight!

“This should be interconnected!” Thought Jia Yan, flying directly above the grate.

Underneath the grate was pitch black.

There could be insecticides or something similar.

After all, the Northeast Wild Tiger’s staff would not overlook such a big loophole.

Jia Yan hesitated.

There didn’t seem to be a bad smell in the air.

Then, with determination, he crawled into the gap in the grate!

It was a minor difficulty and it couldn’t stop a determined Jia Yan!

This would only make him work harder!

The large body barely squeezed into the hole.

But Jia Yan still tried his best to get in!

Just as he expected, under the grate was a sewer, but this sewer was rather large, at least half a person deep, filled with some kind of industrial waste liquid.

“This is chemical waste.

I feel like it could cause significant damage to my body.

Try not to fall in!”

Seeing this chemical waste, Jia Yan felt that it was very dangerous.

So, he quickly used all six legs to firmly grasp the top of the sewer, then spread his wings and began to hover in the air!

Firstly, he adjusted his upside-down body, then he looked around.

Thanks to the mosquito’s excellent infrared thermal sensors, he could clearly detect nearby signs of life.

There was life, but it was all small creatures crawling on top and along the sides.

There were no signs of mutated gigantic creatures.

There were absolutely no signs of life in the waste fluid.

It seemed that this waste fluid was unsuitable for supporting life.

Following the ample space at the upper half of the sewer, Jia Yan flew, beneath him the industrial waste liquid flowed.

After a while, Jia Yan came to the lower part of the PVC pipe as expected!

Seeing the hollow space above, Jia Yan observed for a while, then fluttered his wings and flew up following the pipe!

He needed to hurry now because he didn’t know whether this pipe was the place for waste fluid discharge or not, and if so, how often the waste would be discharged.

If waste fluid were discharged while he was inside it, that would be terribly unlucky!

Fortunately, Jia Yan’s flight speed was not that slow, and it only took him a few seconds to reach the top of the pipe.

If he happened to encounter a discharge in such a short time, it could only be chalked up to bad luck.

As he approached the pitch-black front of the pipe, the faint sound of machinery could be heard.

Jia Yan controlled the sound of his flight and slowly approached the pipe’s exit…

He was a little nervous.

He didn’t know what he would be walking into.

If he ended up directly in the line of sight of the workers, that would be embarrassing!

The pipe wasn’t sealed off, and Jia Yan peeked his head out a bit.

Outside were the roaring machines!

Countless lights as bright as day illuminate the entire space.

This is the front end of a circular conveyor belt, surrounded by an observation port.

Occasionally busy workers pass by.

So many workers!

Jia Yan leaned his head towards the observation port.

Beyond that, there was a closed machine exit.

It was shut now, but, judging by its setup, once opened, a large amount of chemical waste will be discharged.

“Do you think Little Li and Old Chen are okay?

If they are not, do you really think the factory would be so kind as to leave them at the hospital?”

A worker’s chatting voice came over.

“Who knows?

But I don’t think the factory manager would lie about such a serious matter as a death.

Even if he fooled us for a while, just by leaving we’d expose his lies!

Unless he’s bold enough to kill all of us to flatten the lips.

But he can’t, our families know we’re here.

If he dared to do this, he would be finished!”

“True, but we should be careful.

Don’t you see, the factory’s management, even the manager himself, doesn’t look like a good person.

Still, there are numerous of us here.

If he dares, we would fight him to death!”

A giant mosquito was silently listening to the conversation of the two workers behind them…

The two workers were facing away from the pipe, and the others were reasonably far away, blocked by machines, unable to see the observation port.

No one would think that a mutated giant insect had flown directly from the pipe into the heart of the factory!

As simple as it was, it wasn’t that Northeast Wild Tiger and the others hadn’t considered this, but that in all their knowledge of mutated organisms, none other than cockroaches discovered a few days ago had the power of flight!

As for the arthropods like Centipedes, they had no way through the sewers filled with waste into the water pipes.

No one could have thought that the Chinese Anopheles Mosquito, which was deemed impossible by the man in glasses to survive the second mutation, had actually made it and returned to the factory, aiming to find another opportunity!

The conversation between the two workers continued.

The one who raised doubts about Little Li and Old Chen’s safety earlier showed more vigilance now.

He said, “Stop thinking about fighting with them?

We definitely can’t!

Think about it.

We have no clue about what drugs this factory is making in this desolate mountain area.

They say it’s medicine, but we don’t even know if it’s poison or drugs.

So, they hide everything!”

“Yeah, if the government comes to arrest us, we, the workers, will be out of luck.”

“Lower your voice.

A salary of more than ten thousand a month isn’t a straightforward matter.

Anyway, I can only work for another one or two months, resign and go back.

I can keep the confidentiality clause and with the several tens of thousands earned in a few months, it’s enough for our rural people to live for a year…”

Jia Yan no longer distracted himself listening to the conversation of the two workers, as the useful information had mostly been obtained!

He began to observe the factory environment.

This was a space of more than two hundred square meters, and most of it is occupied by some strange machines.

Seven or eight workers busily moved about the space.

Two of them roamed around, responsible for observing the pressure gauge.

Some were pouring proportionally a certain purple powder into the trough.

Two workers in front of him were sitting at the control desk, controlling the starting and closing of all task units.

This was the second floor, and a thick metal pipe came straight from the first floor, connected to a tank-like machine in this workshop.

This machine looks like it has seen better days, covered in rust.

The surface had faint Japanese lettering!

This giant tank-like machine had two outlets.

One of them pierced the wall and connected to another workshop in the next building.

The other was the waste outlet, connected to the sewer pipe where Jia Yan was.

At this moment, the tank-like machinery was continuously roaring, as if something was being stirred inside.

“So, this is what the interior of the factory looks like.

It’s nothing like the high-tech scene I had imagined!

Indeed, Northeast Wild Tiger didn’t develop the ‘antimicrobial peptides’ on their own!”

In order to develop the purple-red liquid, one would expect very high-end equipment.

But here, apart from some old machines which looked decent, everything else appeared to be jerry-built, even very low-end.

“How did the Northeast Wild Tiger manage to produce this kind of liquid?

Is he really relying on these buildings and wartime documents and equipment left by a certain country?”

Jia Yan was clueless about the rise of the Northeast Wild Tiger.

This character seems a bit legendary, seemingly having reached high positions by making solutions this way.

“But none of that matters to me.

I’m not human anymore, why should I envy him?

I just need to know if I can get my hands on the liquid here…”

Jia Yan examined the outside world with a pair of cold compound eyes at the observation port…

Until the two workers sitting off to one side each pressed a button.

The roaring, shaking tank-like machinery suddenly stopped!

A gurgling sound was heard…

Jia Yan was startled!

“No!”

He quickly turned around.

The machine’s water outlet was open, and a stream of dangerous chemical waste was rushing towards him!

To be continued.
