Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4194  Renting The Realm Core?

”Youʼre a true cultivator, alright.”

Davis praised the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master and signed the True Soul Contract as he condensed a wisp of his soul essence and pushed it towards the True Soul Contract. The True Soul Contract shone with a fine white light before the light seeped into both of them, introducing new changes to their soul sea.

Davis had multiple soul weapons hovering over him in his soul sea. They were from the Covenant he exchanged with the Celestial Transcendent, the True Soul Contract he exchanged with Fairy Runalise, and the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

However, the True Soul Contracts were useless against his soul. Only the Covenant stemming from the Celestial Transcendentʼs technique was a deadly weapon capable of killing him.

An immense array of karmic sin fell on the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

With this kind of amount, even the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master was able to notice it as he shuddered ever so lightly with a wry smile, but as usual, Davis simply stole it. He didnʼt think anyone who decided to come to some agreement with him should be punished.

If the heavens wanted to punish them for helping him, he would pardon them instead.

He did the same thing for Fairy Runalise since she also entered a True Soul Contract with him that said she wouldnʼt expose him.

Besides, he tended to benefit from collecting all karmic nature anyway.

He had used up his fourth-tier karmic virtue and karmic sin to undergo Heavenly Water Tribulation. He managed to gather up to the third tier for karmic sin and karmic virtue.

However, changing Fairy Runaliseʼs fate also made him use up a significant portion of what he collected, so he was back to square two. He only had second-tier karmic sin, and now, his karmic sin has reached tier three again.

ʼTo think agreeing to rent me the Realm Core and becoming my ally would cause third-tier karmic sin to fall on the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master…ʼ

Davis could only smile wryly as it was equivalent to killing billions of innocent souls.

”Letʼs go inside. Iʼll release the binding I have with the Realm Core, but it is not suitable to leave it be since a heavenly phenomenon will appear and let the people know it is available to be bound. It is a phenomenon unique to this Realm Core since it is isolated. When my predecessor handed me the reigns, I was also told to bind it quickly after he let it go.”

”Alright.”

Davis bought that at face value and followed the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

The people behind him also followed.

They were taken through a secret passageway before they appeared deep inside the peninsula. It was directly below the main palace, over three hundred thousand kilometers deep. It appeared to be the core of the floating palace, but that was wrong. It was the core of the entire realm, and the floating continent around it was merely its outgrowth.

This entire flying continent could be considered to be at Low-Level Autarch Grade, and the deeper one went, the stronger the rocks became and the richer the minerals became.

They could feel getting closer to the Realm Core, and the rocks around them appeared to be as hard as the Peak-Level Autarch Grade. If they were attacked here, it could spell the end for them since it would be difficult to move around. After all, the rocks here werenʼt just dense; they exuded some kind of aura that resembled indestructibility since they appeared to have a layer of strange energy on them.

It could be from the Realm Core constantly nourishing them.

Still, Davis didnʼt seem one bit worried. After coming this far, having Calypsea so close to the Realm Core meant he basically won.

Moreover, he felt nothing of suspicion from the Whispering Wildlands Grand Elders. After he signed the True Soul Contract, they even relaxed, although they still felt worried in their hearts. Perhaps it was for the future.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master also caught wind of Davisʼs Heart Intent, but he didnʼt say anything about it. Davis couldnʼt see through the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master since he was much more powerful than the Grand Elders. They maintained an unseen status quo of not interfering as they sounded out each other the entire way to gain more knowledge.

Finally, they emerged into an enormous underground hall, its vastness stretching like it was a city on its own, but it was nearly empty. There were only countless pillars arranged in perfect order.

Davis knew in an instant that these were related to the formations that were above. The Realm Core seemed to be an endless source of energy powering them up, but at the same time, it was only a secondary source since there were also Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Cores kept at all four corners in multiple layers.

It was a massive conduit of energy production, making Davis nod in appreciation.

However, the main source of attraction was at the very center.

”…”

It was Davisʼs first time laying eyes on the massive Realm Core that was over a hundred meters wide in diameter. It wasnʼt exactly massive since he had seen larger lifeforms, but as an energy source, it was absolutely massive.

Besides, the kaleidoscope of colors shimmering on its crystalline surface was capable of mesmerizing any lifeform that laid its eyes on it.

Davis took a deep breath, absorbing the sheer grandeur of the sight.

”So this is the Whispering Wildlands Realm Core…” he murmured. His gaze sharpened as he studied the energy fluctuations, and his soul sense instinctively analyzed every detail.

It wasnʼt only him. The others also were enchanted, thoroughly lost in its majestic nature.

”Shishi~”

Only Calypsea was drooling as she gazed at it, wondering how this Realm Core would taste as it seemed to have other main colors. However, she controlled herself, aware that she shouldnʼt show any ill will against the Realm Core, or it would cry out in alarm and make the situation more problematic.

They walked all the way to the Realm Core and the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master, three individuals who looked no different than dried-out corpses. However, the undulations they released were as strong as a Level Seven Autarchs. It was still dense, letting them know that they also did have some battle prowess that reached Level Nine Autarch Stage.

Their sockets were nearly black as though they didnʼt have eyes, but they firmly stared at Calypsea.

When Calypsea shot a look back at them, one of them staggered behind and spat a mouthful of blood.

The other two held him and whispered to each other using soul transmission.

Evidently, one had probed too much and received a backlash.

”Guardians, please step down.”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master stepped forward, his expression unreadable, ”The time for our Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm to change hands for a brief period of time has come.”

”…”

After some silence, that Guardian, who spit a mouthful of blood, barely managed to stand up before he spoke in a hoarse voice.

”The time for changing your mind is over. We will advise you no more since you are the heir to this realm and will make all the decisions regarding it. Whether it leads to prosperity or destruction is of secondary concern.”

”I know, but I still want Guardians to say that you at least donʼt reject my decision.”

”…”

The Guardians remained quiet. Clearly, they didnʼt approve of this plan, but they let the heir make decisions for the realm.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master heaved a sigh before he turned to look at Davis.

”Once I release my binding, the Realm Core will momentarily release energy waves. It must be swiftly bound before the heavenly phenomenon appears. Please stand close and...”

He explained the process, causing Davis to nod occasionally.

Once the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master was done, he gestured for Davis to make his move.

However, instead of walking towards the front, he called out.

”Tina, step forward.”

Amidst all the gazes, Tina shook ever so lightly. Her eyes went wide as though she couldnʼt believe it, but the others giggled as they knew she would be the one chosen.

Tina was dumbfounded. She wasnʼt aware of any decision they made.

At the most, she was aware that she got strange glances, and when she investigated, Dalila told her that she was a possible candidate for binding the Realm Core. However, she didnʼt think she would really be given a chance to bind the Realm Core.

”You-” Tina was at a loss for words as she stared at Davisʼs back. She turned to look at Evelynn but didnʼt, feeling like she offended her.

After all, the Realm Core was a crystal essence that carried all kinds of laws. In her opinion, everyone had a good chance of binding it if Davis didnʼt want it. Even if she had Four Laws to master, it didnʼt matter since others could also get stronger at the same rate she did. Even if there were minor differences, who cared?

She didnʼt want the Realm Core as she was already busy with making pills and having to complete her physique.

”Go, Tina.” Shirley pushed her forward.

”Yeah.” Isabella laughed lightly, ”You have to continue making us all kinds of pills, so this energy boost would be great.”

”Go ahead, Tina. You donʼt need to give me needless face. You deserve it.”

Evelynn smiled gently.

Tina turned to look back, her eyes tearing up. She didnʼt know what words to say as she looked at the others, and they all nodded at her.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master had his eyes wide in shock.

The Divine Emperor of Death wasnʼt the one who was binding the Realm Core? Was it some random woman he had no idea of?

No, it seemed like she was one of his wives, but why had he never heard of her?

Davis turned around and held Tinaʼs hand as she approached him.

”Donʼt worry.” He sent her a physical soul transmission, ”It isnʼt like youʼre going to enjoy the Realm Core for the entire ten thousand years or ten years. The Realm Core is ours, and weʼll change the Realm Master to our liking and requirements. You may enjoy it for a year, and someone else may enjoy it for another year. The Realm Master is interchangeable, and lastly, even I would want to bind it to see what it is like if itʼs possible.”

”I see.”

”Now go.”

Only after hearing his explanation did Tina smile. She suppressed her tears and hugged Davis as she gained the courage to step forward and walk toward the Realm Core. As she did so, Calypsea also held her hand and followed her.

Although the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master would surely sever the connection and allow Tina to bind the Realm Core, Calypsea was given a speech to deliver to the Realm Coreʼs Spirit so that it doesnʼt betray them.
