Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4164  Whispering Wildlands Realm Master

Davis looked at the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

He could tell that the Realm Master was trying to establish dominance by confronting him on the stairs because he was standing above him. However, he paid no heed to such a childish move. Or he was wrong and imagined that the Realm Masterʼs family was in the palace above.

Regardless, he opened his mouth.

”Whispering Wildlands Realm Master, you seem to know a lot about me. How about you introduce yourself if weʼre going to have a chat?”

”Chat?” The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master blinked, ”We could have a feast depending on the circumstances. Therefore, I first need to know what youʼre here for.”

Davis knew there was no one in the surroundings. This place was nearly empty, unlike the vast city below. Once he imagined that there was no need to conceal his features, he restored his appearance and gave a confident smirk.

”To strike a deal, of course.”

”I see. My name isnʼt something worthy of mentioning in front of your wild popularity. Iʼd be embarrassing myself.”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master looked at Davis with his blonde hair and sapphire eyes. Now, he seemed more like the Divine Emperor of Death than ever, making him take a deep breath.

”Iʼll invite you to my palace then. Come.”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master turned around and walked up the stairs.

Davis smirked. Clearly, the other party was careful of karmic attacks and curses. Many people were superstitious and hid their names behind the title. However, karmic attacks and curses that only used names were complicated and nearly impossible. Still, the careful ones wouldnʼt want to give out their names, no matter the reason.

”Master, it may be a trap.”

Illumina sent Davis a soul transmission, but he merely smiled and gestured for her to follow.

Without saying anything, she followed Davis closely, ready to spring to action if there was anything dubious going on. She closely watched her surroundings. She could feel the presence of a formation on these stairs. Its nature was unknown, but if it was a killing formation, it would be bad because she imagined Davis would require time to activate the black-white stone.

That momentary lapse could prove to be fatal, so she was determined to protect him with her own body if need be.

Finally, they reached the palace without anything going on. The Seventh Grand Elder, Arys Duskbane, also followed. His expression wasnʼt good. He looked like he wanted to run away, considering he had just brought the Divine Emperor of Death without warning the Whispering Wildlands Realm Master.

Chances are that he could be punished to death regardless of how this talk came out to be.

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master led them inside the palace. He took a seat on his throne while he left Davis standing there.

”You may speak.” He leaned and crossed his legs, resting his chin ever so lightly over the tip of his index finger.

”That kind of attitude isnʼt going to get you anywhere.”

Davis shook his head, ”Iʼll give you a chance to make a choice. You can either make your stand here, kill me, and become the hero of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy who slew the Divine Emperor or Death. Or, you could remain silent as though you have never seen me here.”

”…”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master readjusted his position, sitting properly, ”Iʼm not doing this for fun. Just having you here and not attacking you is enough to warrant the Heavenʼs Warriors to hunt me down. Whatʼs in it for me if I chose the latter?”

He asked with his brows raised, causing Davis to shrug.

”Before that, I want you to make the choice. You can choose to attack me now, which, in my perspective, will cause our relations to fail and end in the destruction of this realm. The other option is to keep silent about our meeting. Only the Seventh Grand Elder and you know about my presence here, right?”

”…”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master stared at Davis, not replying for three whole seconds before he sighed.

”I donʼt wish to engage with a calamity like you or the apocalyptic flame spirit. Iʼm not interested in whatever righteousness the Heavenʼs Warriors try to sell. I would be inclined to do some good, but not at the cost of my life. Iʼm only looking out for myself and my family, so Iʼm pretty sure you are the same. Speak, what do you want from me?”

His voice was reluctant but still firm.

Davis saw that he chose the latter with this response. He nodded.

”I have a friendly proposition. I want to rent the Realm Core.”

”Rent…?”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Masterʼs amber eyes went wide. He looked at the Divine Emperor of Death, wondering if he was joking.

There were ancient records of people renting a Realm Core. After all, the Realm Core was an extreme resource. It was like all the Essence Orbs were there in one place. It couldnʼt be absorbed like an Essence Orb, but to be feeling an Essence Orb all the time right by their side could also do wonders.

It was perfect for those who had high comprehension abilities. However, this renting system for Realm Cores didnʼt last for long. It quickly ended as it became prevalent.

Why? Because why would the renters need to return it when they could reign supreme in the realm with the prowess the Realm Core provided!?

Hence, that kind of deal was totally scrapped from history.

Someone wanted a Realm Core? Then they could only gain it after walking over countless corpses, which was near impossible to accomplish unless they had armies or reigned supreme through their own power.

Perhaps it could be rented to a family member who had the extraordinary wealth to donate to the clan, but that was limited, and they would be forced to abdicate before they entered the Late Sovereign Stage so they cannot secretly enter the Autarch Stage and continue to reign supreme.

However, this kind of arrangement wasnʼt heard of anymore because the realm would be vulnerable when the Realm Master was weak. They needed to have other strong members, but most of them would leave for Upper Realms to continue their cultivation journey, so the realm would remain vulnerable for most of the period until the next formal succession event.

It required a lot of planning ahead, after all.

Therefore, renting is unheard of, much less renting to an outsider.

ʼAnd much less renting to an Anarchic Divergent…!ʼ

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master glared at Davis, wondering if he was being made a fool, but the other partyʼs expression didnʼt have the slightest change. He could tell that the Divine Emperor of Death wasnʼt kidding.

Davis let the Realm Master absorb this knowledge before he opened his mouth again.

”I want to rent the Realm Core for a period of ten thousand years. It is very short, donʼt you think?”

”As I said,” The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master couldnʼt help but grumble, ”Whatʼs in it for me?”

”A chance to retain more than half of the Lower Realm Coreʼs prowess even when you venture out of the realm.”

Davis took out a glazed golden pill, which was nearly the size of a fist. It was big enough to comfortably fit in Davisʼs hand. It didnʼt release any undulations since it was perfectly sealed.

”You must have heard about the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pills that came from the world we came from. This is extremely similar to the Realm Pill made from the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm and I dare say it is has even more efficacy than it, capable of granting you over two levels of battle prowess easily. With this, you will easily become a supreme genius who is at the same level as an Empyreal Sovereign who became an Autarch. In other words, you would be like your founder.”

”…!”

The Whispering Wildlands Realm Master finally stood up as he stared at the pill with extreme interest, his eyes full of shock.
