Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4182  Fairy Runalise Escapes

A Grand Elder, a Level Two Autarch, appeared with a panicked look on his wizened face. He wore the robes of the Quake Fist Sect.

”Respected Heavenʼs Warrior. Are you fine? I heard that you all found a spatial cavity that trapped you and the other two people who were with you.”

”What?” Fairy Runalise frowned as she appeared before him.

However, she was in a hurry, so she didnʼt want to deal with this Autarch, causing her to bite her lips.

”Get me a jade sound crystal of the highest quality. I need to-”

Suddenly, she glanced at two individuals from the corner of her eyes. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw it was none other than Elder Ramus and Elder Nonek. She thought they had died or were imprisoned, but what were they doing here!?

”Yes, the others are fine. It seems like Fairy Runalise made it out, but the other Heavenʼs Warrior and the Mystic Diviner are still stuck in the spatial cavity.”

”Indeed, this spatial cavity was what was causing the anomaly. It should be gone naturally and wouldnʼt pose much of a threat to our sect as we reported, Grand Elder.”

Elder Ramus and Elder Nonek reported with a light smile.

”Thatʼs right.” The Grand Elder looked at them and nodded before he returned his gaze, ”Fairy Runalise, Iʼm glad youʼre safe. If a beauty of your caliber were to be harmed while helping us, it would make us really feel ashamed. Oh, wait, there are some injuries that need tending- but is it really true that thereʼs a spatial cavity?”

Fairy Runalise frowned as she shook her head, ”I-”

But from the corner of her eyes, she saw the two Elders make a pleading expression on their faces as though telling her to spare them. They looked pitiful and looked as though they were going to cry.

When the Grand Elder turned to look at them, they quickly changed their faces.

”See? These two are acting strange.” The Grand Elder pointed at them, ”I suspect they might have hidden some treasures while you three were trapped in the spatial cavity. I was even told that you saved them and got trapped in their stead but they came back by themselves. Very suspicious-”

”Grand Elder, please forgive us! We did indeed take some treasures while the Heavenʼs Warriors were working hard to remove the spatial cavity.”

Elder Ramus went on his knees and kowtowed. As he did so, he summoned a treasure that was in the shape of a purple flower.

”This… this is a Low-Level Autarch Grade Treasure!”

The Grand Elder had a look of surprise on his face before he appeared before them and took the treasure.

Elder Nonek sighed and then offered his treasure as well, ”These were the only two treasures we could find. We didnʼt find any, but presumably, the rest were taken by Mystic Diviner Oscar. I think he is stuck in the spatial cavity for the time being. It would be very difficult to come out, considering we couldnʼt even see his figure when we left.”

”You two are liars and will be punished!”

The Grand Elder furiously reprimanded them before he shot a gaze at Fairy Runalise, ”Heavenʼs Warrior. You are a righteous person who will not lie. Please tell me if what theyʼre saying is true?”

”…”

Fairy Runalise was speechless. It was obvious that these two Elders were spared and told to make some fake story here, and they were now pleading for their lives to her.

”But Grand Elder, weʼre telling the truth. We even confessed. I have a wife and a child I have to look after, and I made a mistake in the heat of the moment. Please forgive us.” Elder Ramus kept his head on the floor as he pleaded.

”Hmph, whether youʼre all saying the truth or not will be determined by Fairy Runalise. Please let us know the truth. Is what theyʼre saying the truth?”

The Grand Elder returned his gaze again, and Fairy Runaliseʼs heart shook. She wanted to expose the Divine Emperor of Death. Her lips moved.

”Y-Yes…”

”I see.” The Grand Elder nodded before taking a deep breath, ”Please forgive us, Fairy Runalise. If you didnʼt return, they would have never opened their mouths.”

”Elder Ramus. Elder Nonek, Iʼm deeply disappointed in you two. The sect has given you many things, yet you…”

The Grand Elder appeared sad and aggrieved as he pointed at them and lectured them.

”…”

Fairy Runaliseʼs heart sank. She lied.

Why did she lie? She couldnʼt understand. She asked herself again and again. Was it to save her own skin? Was it to save these two Elders? She couldnʼt let them die? No, what use was their lives in front of an Anarchic Divergent? It was a necessary sacrifice. Even her life should be a necessary sacrifice.

Yet… why did she lie?

ʼWhy did I lie?ʼ This question kept repeating in her mind like a curse as the images from her tour to find out the truth flashed in her mind.

The game, the contract, the city… the joyful people who were living there without much of a worry in their lives and cultivating happily.

”Fairy!?”

Suddenly, she was awoken out of her reverie, and she stared at the Grand Elder, who seemed to be worried.

”Are you truly fine? Since you were in the spatial cavity, injuries with lacerations are normal. Due to the endless darkness, hallucinations are also normal. Iʼm glad you escaped. If itʼs fine with you, let us provide healing medicines that help with mental recovery. We are an old sect, but we have enough for our disciples and those who help us.”

The Grand Elder offered, causing Fairy Runalise to subconsciously nod her head.

”Also, you asked about a jade sound crystal. Do you still need it?”

Fairy Runalise considered it for a few moments before she shook her head. She appeared absentminded, as though she was lost.

However, the Grand Elder didnʼt seem to suspect anything. He just led her to her guest palace.

As for the two Elders, they were imprisoned in their homes, awaiting a verdict. However, Elder Nonek already had a soul body outside who messaged the-

-Divine Emperor of Death!

”I see.”

Davis put down the messaging talisman and cast a glance at Myria, Ellia, and Tia.

”What did they say?” Myria asked, her eyelids fluttering like a butterfly.

Ellia was amused, and Tia was solemn.

Davis blinked, ”What are the chances that a Heavenʼs Warrior who hates us to death and would do anything to kill us would actually close their mouth and not expose our location and information?”

”Practically zero,” Tia uttered.

Myria and Ellia also nodded as though it was a given. The only exception was Clara, who had special circumstances.

However, Davis shook his head.

Seeing what Davis was implying, Tiaʼs brows raised, ”Impossible…”

”That impossible just happened. Fairy Runalise went with their story and spared them and, at the same time, unwittingly hid our location and secrets.”

”…!”

The three beauties trembled, but each of them had a different reaction.

Ellia rejoiced. Myria was dumbfounded, while Tia was shocked as she once again shot a look at the manual she plundered from Mystic Diviner Oscar in her hands.

[Heavenly Gambling Records - Introduction to changing luck!]

The manual couldnʼt be any more dubious and the height of stupidity where it laid oneʼs lives to the mercy of luck, yet… it worked!?

”Seems like it wasnʼt a lie that Mystic Diviner Oscar is one of the obscure candidates of the Heavenly Gambling Sect that rolls a fucking dice and determines the outcome of a situation to their favor.” Davis sucked in a cold breath.

The reason why Mystic Diviner Oscar came here specifically was because he rolled his dice multiple times to find Divergents and crossed numerous realms to appear here.

It wasnʼt that he found them here, but the dice led him here with each roll. Mystic Diviner Oscarʼs luck seemed to be extremely good, or perhaps bad...?

Davis couldnʼt tell.

”But you used a coin! Itʼs fifty-fity~” Tia yelled out.

This was big for her because even her other forgotten self hadnʼt chanced upon something like this in the past. At the very least, she had no recollection of it.

Davis nodded but his expression remained blank. He made a daring move to play this dangerous game because what he changed with his own powers wasnʼt luck but… fate!
