Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4184  Influencing The Flow Of Fate

”Well,” Ellia pursed her lips, ”Initially, I just wanted to have big sister Evelynn try the same treatment she did on Clara to them, but I guess itʼs nearly impossible considering they are way stronger and would mount way more resistance. However, I want to learn the same kind of treatment using Life Laws as a base. Perhaps I could create something, or it could go bust, but either way, arenʼt these Heavenʼs Warriors practically death row inmates? After my effort fails, I can try making their physiques into pills. I already have some knowledge of some refining arts that evil, demonic cultivators use. It should be able to cleanse the heavenʼs influence as long as I try enough...”

Ellia uttered while pondering, but seeing their strange looks, she raised her brows, ”What? I think we should be able to experiment on them if we like and make their deaths useful.”

Davis looked impressed, ”Youʼre certainly the evil counterpart.”

”Hehe~” Ellia giggled, ”My existence is otherwise known as Myriaʼs evil incarnate.”

”Enough of the teasing~”

Myria pouted lightly before she reprimanded Ellia, telling her not to seek darkness.

On the other hand, both Davis and Tia were deep in contemplation.

Tia was wondering if she should start practicing this manual since she fulfilled the first requirement. She was a Mystic Diviner, after all.

However, it wasnʼt like she could practice it easily, considering there was no circulation method written. There were just theories and musings, and the reader was left to form their own interpretations based on them.

Davis was also wondering if he should practice the Heavenly Gambling Records when his heart suddenly sank.

If luck could influence outcomes using a catalyst such as a dice, why couldnʼt he influence the flow of fate with the same catalysts?

At first, it was nothing but a vague thought, but it quickly gnawed on him and took root in his mind, making him want to test it, or he felt like he would explode.

As Ellia said, the lives of the Heavenʼs Warriors were there at their disposal. Who told them to invade? He could use them as he pleased since they would kill him if they were given a chance without a doubt.

”Myria, Ellia, and Tia. Iʼm going to do something so foolish and probably retarded, but do you trust me enough to partake in it?”

”…”

The three of them turned their attention to him. They blinked at him, wondering what kind of idea he got from this manual that appeared like it was written to scam people.

”Of course. Your ideas, whether brilliant or idiotic, got us this far.” Myria smiled lightly, ”Why wouldnʼt I trust you with my life at this point? However, be careful not to go overboard. Itʼs not just us.”

”I am aware. If it fails, we should be ready to leave for another mini-realm. If not, I wouldʼve gained another weapon that I could use for our survival.”

”Alright.”

Myria nodded.

Ellia and Tia also nodded. They were curious as to what Davis had come up with.

Then, after dealing with a few matters, like removing the traces of the invaders outside the mini-realm and locking them up in a newly created dungeon under a void dust mound, they finally appeared before the awoken Fairy Runalise.

Davis didnʼt specifically say what he was going to do. He was completely secretive about it, saying that if he said something, then it might not come true.

Then they saw him play a game, acting like he was bored.

After some back and forth, Fairy Runalise wanted to end the game in one single round at the beginning, but Davis said otherwise. He wanted to play many rounds, and they could see why. They had read the Heavenly Gambling Records and saw that he was increasing the risk factor by making it really dangerous for himself.

He agreed to let go of Heavenʼs Warrior Yubin, agreed to divulge his secrets, and then finally agreed to kill Fairy Runalise using his own hands.

Everything rested on a damned purple coin. As far as they could tell, Davis didnʼt cheat, and the result really depended on something as vague as luck.

If he failed in the second round, he wouldʼve needed to divulge his secrets. If he failed in the fourth and final round, he wouldʼve needed to kill Fairy Runalise using his own hands. If he didnʼt intend to do so, then they didnʼt know what exactly he was trying to achieve, as he wouldnʼt be gathering risk at that point.

”Davis…” At that point, Myria called out, not wanting him to risk so much.

He was like a gambler reborn, making her afraid. She was frightened that he would not only just gamble his secrets but also gamble his life away like it was nothing. That was truly terrifying for her.

However, Davis merely raised his hand, stopping them.

Seeing that Davis was still confident, she could only take a step back and watch.

Myria, Ellia, and Tina continued to watch in a steadfast manner.

Using those three or four rounds, he gathered all the risk to himself and flipped the coin for the final time.

However, it was done without consent, and nothing happened. He went as far as to say that she didnʼt need to follow the result of the fourth round and let her go, so they couldnʼt begin to understand what just happened.

They couldnʼt comprehend until Davis said Fairy Runalise could really become a spy for them.

They were surprised but shook their heads, unable to believe it. After all, a Heavenʼs Warrior betraying their own kind? That wasnʼt happening.

They were getting ready to transport after letting Fairy Runalise go. Stella was informed, and she was on standby.

However, the result was completely different than their expectations.

”But you used a coin! Itʼs fifty-fity~” Tia yelled out.

Davis nodded, and his expression remained blank.

From the start to the end, he didnʼt use Fallen Heaven. He didnʼt even talk to it once. However, he had always felt an impulse to comprehend something ever since Fallen Heavenʼs grade reached Immortal King and Immortal Emperor.

He had always suppressed this clawing impulse to comprehend this otherworldly insight, thinking it wouldnʼt do him any good.

But upon learning of the Heavenly Gambling Records and reading how a catalyst like a dice or a coin could be used, he suddenly felt what if he didnʼt need to actively unleash this power but passively let it decide the course of fate?

He wouldnʼt be bending the flow of fate to his Will. He was going to let it choose with his intent as a base.

He didnʼt choose a dice because it wasnʼt like there was any preordained number to win, and the chances were one in six. Instead, he chose the coin for this reason. High risk and high reward. He could also lose badly and would need to fulfill his part and kill Fairy Runalise.

He was ready to do so.

That was the kind of intent needed to increase the odds in his favor. He needed to accumulate high risk and managed to hold an intense amount of karmic bonds between from all the exchanges they made.

He confirmed it by activating his karmic powers and seeing the threads. The thread he shared with Fairy Runalise was one of hatred, but it had fully taken shape and looked quite solid.

At that point, he imagined he needed no oneʼs consent and let the coin decide the flow of fate in accordance with his intent.

If he had failed, he might have killed Fairy Runalise even if he wanted to back out. Such was the power of fate, or so he figured and made the final coin flip as he unleashed the insight and transformed it into a burst of life, death, and karmic energy, which turned into a strange form of minute energy.

He couldnʼt even tell if he had unleashed it. He could detect nothing.

After Fairy Runalise left and an hour passed, he was beginning to question if he had made the right decision to gamble, but after seeing Fairy Runalise now keep her mouth shut instead of exposing him and his location, he was completely befuddled and horrified.

He hid his face with his hands, unable to hide the wide grin that wouldnʼt leave his face.

ʼThis means… I am at the junction where I could finally push the flow of fate slightly to my liking without receiving a great backlash…ʼ

Davis trembled.

For as long as he knew, the bubbles of fate around him always popped and rectified themselves, causing the fates or destinies of so many people to change. He wouldnʼt have the slightest hand in it, but these bubbles always reacted to him. To be accurate, they reacted to Fallen Heaven, but for the first time ever, he passively managed to change the flow of fate by using a trigger, such as a coin.

How could he not tremble? He was thrilled beyond compare as it opened up many options for him.

However, he quickly calmed himself.

ʼDonʼt be stupid, Davis Loret. This one change caused you to almost divulge all secrets and required you to die if you failed. Even if it is the slightest change, it requires you to make a prominent sacrifice and carry immense risk. This is in accordance with what I felt when wanting to feel out this new insight after I reached Immortal King Stage and Immortal Emperor Stage…ʼ

Davis forced his pounding heart to calm and convinced himself that he shouldnʼt touch this otherworldly power anytime soon.

ʼJust confirming that I can control such a thing alone is enough and worth it for the moment…ʼ

Davis nodded to himself while Myria, Ellia, and Tia were still full of questions.

Myria could tell that this had something to do with Fallen Heaven, so she didnʼt ask. Instead, she asked.

”What now? We kill Fairy Runalise or let her live? Just because it happened once doesnʼt mean she will not expose us in front of another Heavenʼs Warrior.”

Davis dropped his hands and turned to look at her with a bright smile, ”Indeed, just because it happened once doesnʼt mean it will happen again, but thatʼs the interesting part. Let us see what happens next.”

”…”

Myria blinked. Had her Davis completely turned into a gambler?
