Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3592  Her Confession

Davis declared with a straight face.

He hated it to cut Fairy Aila Cherryweave off like that but felt that it was better than having her with him when he could barely interact with his women. He hated having to adjust his time for them when he wanted nothing but to be with them together all the time.

He was getting busier by the day and could not extend his attention anymore, and if he did so, he would be greedy.

And these were all adjustable, so what made him unsure was that Fairy Aila Cherryweave was a Celestial Fairy.

The way she was brought up in life was different than all his women.

She was willful and not at all mature like Myria, so he doubted that she would be able to bear the loneliness of being unable to interact with him for some period of time.

”Do I still have self-respect when I willfully demand people to do my bidding?”

Abruptly, Fairy Aila Cherryweave spoke, her voice shuddering ever so lightly. She had her fingers clenched, her eyes slightly reddened as she glared at him.

”Do I still have any dignity left when I was captured by a Kingly Monarch and was about to get mishandled, only to be… saved by you, an Anarchic Divergent that my family refused to repay its debts for fear of karmic retribution?”

Tears welled up in her eyes before she sniffled, holding them back, ”Do I have any sense to fall in love with a man who has many wives?”

”…” Davis remained quiet, watching her pour out her true feelings.

”The answer to all these questions is obviously no. I have nothing.”

She waved her hand, her voice sounding passionate, ”You have my everything. I wonʼt go as far as to say it was love at first sight, but I definitely loved your attitude, Mo Tian. Then, later in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, you saved me from a cruel fate that befell Fairy Selene Lunaris. When I think it couldʼve been me if it werenʼt for you, my maiden heart throbs for your presence.”

Her small nose turned red, tears spilling down her face, ”You are the person I fell in love with, and… it causes me to feel the unbearable need to see you. I ache for your love and attention, seek your touch… and if you read any of the letters I have sent you, perhaps you wouldʼve understood an iota of my intentions.”

”…”

Davis stared at Fairy Aila Cherryweave, who finally displayed a semblance of resentment. She looked at him with aggrieved eyes as though she was an abandoned puppy, making him feel numerous emotions.

”If you say you donʼt want me, then I donʼt know… what to do…!”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave lashed out before she dropped and hid her face in her knees, appearing to cry as she shivered.

”Youʼre right. I donʼt know any of your intentions. I can tell you half of your life is going to be like this— with me ignoring you, not purposefully but bound by other things like survival, and the other half taken by other women, leaving you with a minority of my attention. Tell me, would a Celestial Fairy like you, who could have any man follow your feet like a dog, still have the patience to be with me by then?”

Davisʼs voice was no longer cold but calm. By the end, he asked her in a gentle voice, causing Fairy Aila Cherryweave to raise her hand and look at him with disbelief.

This line of questioning was as though he was still on the fence about accepting her but then, her anger flared.

”Did you think I didnʼt know that?” She stood up, having a puffed face as she raised her hand.

”The reason I came to your two weddings wasnʼt only because I wanted to see your face and talk to you. I wanted to woo your wives and let them know my sincerity without letting them know me as I earn their favor.”

”Isabella... Sophie... Tina... They were like elder sisters, treating me with goodwill and telling me to reconsider my options. Hence, I knew for a fact that you had a good family and that I wouldnʼt suffer. Do you take me for a little girl who canʼt decide for herself!?”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave lashed out, tears spilling out her eyes as she trembled.

”…”

Davis gasped ever so lightly.

Wanted to woo his wives and earn their favor…?

Recollecting the Harem Councilʼs results on Fairy Aila Cherryweave, he saw what she had done. She had used her charms and sympathy to catch every one of his wives in favor of her, and even Mingzhi fell into her trap.

Everyone thought she was innocent but no— hidden behind the facade of cuteness was a mind that was out to get what she wanted.

However, Davis saw genuine emotions in her flooding out as she really wanted to get together with him.

”Whatever hardships I may have to face with you… Iʼm ready to face it or die trying as they asked me to…”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave bit her lips, her bosoms heaving as she looked at him with an emotional gaze. It made Davis heave a long breath as he couldnʼt bear to watch anymore.

”Do you have any idea that you might be brainwashed like your mother thought?”

”I know what Iʼm getting into by loving you, an Anarchic Divergent… so why wonʼt you accept me…?”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave narrowed her brows, ”Could it be that I look like a kid with my height, or am I unworthy of you?”

ʼIf you are a kid with those salacious peaches, then most of my wives must be toddlers.ʼ

Davis almost rolled his eyes as he gazed at her quivering bosoms. He didnʼt say his thoughts out loud but walked closer to her, reaching out his hand to grab her cheek.

”If you want to be with me so badly, so be it. I will give you two nights time. Either convince your family or abandon them. I doubt a marriage will happen between us anytime soon, so forgot about that- haha, an hardship right there already.”

He chuckled, ”If you donʼt relay your decision before the Candidacy begins, Iʼll take it that you chose your family. I might feel some regret as you are indeed lovely, but in the end, youʼre not mine yet, so-”

Davis lightly smiled as he shook his head before turning around to leave. He walked toward the door and was about to open but then turned back to smile at her.

”Before I leave, let me tell you that I… like you very much and would be glad to have you in my life. However, you donʼt need to suffer because of my wants or make a mistake because of your longing heart, so this is a crossroads where you would have to decide your future path. Think carefully before you give your answer. After that— weʼll be husband and wife or close acquaintances if youʼre still willing to look at me like a person instead of judging me on my anarchic nature.”

”…”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave looked stunned as she watched him leave after he waved goodbye cooly.

It wasnʼt until a few seconds after her father and mother came running into the room that she regained herself and gazed at the exit.

This whole time… he was only testing her determination like she initially guessed but had collapsed her initiative by saying that he declined her advances, making her feel despondent.

She clenched her teeth, appearing shaky yet also smiling foolishly as she now knew for a fact that she had a valid chance.

”Father… mother….”

”Aila, did he do anything to you? Why are you crying- my liege?”

Laura Cherryweave turned to look at her husband with a worried expression, but the latter could see something, and it manifested.

”I love you both more than I love myself, so you can honor kill me if I am a disgrace, but donʼt stop me from getting together with the man I love.”

His daughter said it right to his face, making him close his eyes.

It was over… his daughterʼs tenacity had grown even more than he could try to suppress. As for honor killing his daughter, if he tried that, then the Cherryweave Clan would be buried here for an eternity.

ʼThat bastard knew I was listening…ʼ

Patriarch Cherryweave shook his head, unable to understand what went on in the heads of these two youngsters. However, his daughter was stolen from him right under his nose, so he was very angry but on the other hand, it seems like he really did save her from meeting the same fate as Fairy Selene Lunaris as he didnʼt deny it, so he didnʼt know what to do.

The entire family would be against sending their Celestial Fairy to an evil Divergent like the Divine Emperor of Death. They would say that death was a release than making her suffer under his tyrannical reign without even knowing anything, as it was difficult to convince old foggies.

”Aila, if you keep this up, you will be killed. Rax, teach her that sheʼs wrong…!”

Laura Cherryweave begged her husband, but Aila Cherryweave remained steadfast.

Patriarch Raxas Cherryweave heaved a heavy sigh before glancing at his daughter, his eyes turning cold.

”Aila, if you really do want to stay with him, then you can die.”

”I see…”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave smiled lightly.

She got her way because she was the adored Celestial Fairy, but she always knew her family was strict and valued honor over everything. She wasnʼt surprised by this decision.

”You will no longer carry the name of the Cherryweave and will be exiled.”

”…!?” Fairy Aila Cherryweave turned shocked.

”Father… I…”

”Just leave before everyone bands together to stop you!”

Patriarch Raxas Cherryweave roared, causing his daughter to tremble before she shed tears. She bit her lips, rubbing her eyes before she wore a veil and ran to the exit, taking off before she used a secret path known only to a few to escape.
