Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3569  True Power Of The Harem Council

”Alright, itʼs not over yet.”

Mingzhi waved her hand, her expression solemn, ”We arrive at the final junction. Previously, we had seen the Harem Council be capable of accepting an outsider into the harem without even consulting the Patriarch but now, you will see its true power or rather- its true face.”

”…?”

Many were curious as to what kind of power they held.

After a long pause, Mingzhi opened her mouth.

”Sisters, let us vote on who is going to spend time with the Patriarch tonight. Is it Mingzhi or... Mingzhi?”

”What!? You canʼt be this shameless!”

”Step down!”

”Just because you oversaw this event doesnʼt mean you can sweep him under your legs!”

Fiora, Shirley, and Sophie protested, causing the others to echo as well.

”…”

But as for the others, they almost facepalmed.

So, the true face of the Harem Council was that they were hungry for Davis. What else did they expect?

As strong as these women were, they forget they were all youthful and playful. They couldnʼt help but shake their heads and cover the ears of their children as the ladies appeared to go berserk.

Mingzhi appeared to have erected a mental barrier already as she remained indifferent before she shrugged, ”I knew this was going to happen since it appears we canʼt come to a decision regarding this matter, so I introduce this new formation. A simple spotlight that will choose us at random. In that case, we shouldnʼt have a problem, right? After all, weʼre leaving it to chance.”

”In that case… itʼs fine.” Isabella acquiesced.

”It isnʼt rigged, is it?”

Fiora raised her brows in doubt, causing everyone to be once again skeptical.

However, Mingzhi shook her head.

”It is random. We will know when we use it. Ready?”

”Wait… I have to prepare…”

”Thereʼs nothing to prepare other than to be disappointed as this is a one-in-twenty-six chance currently!”

Mingzhi quickly got back into her seat and activated the formation, causing the entirety of the lights to go out. Only the chandeliers went out, plunging the chamber into the dark with darkness energy enshrouding and lowering the visibility by many times. It was dark, but some light was still there with the lanterns barely shining through the darkness.

”…!”

Every beauty in the harem held their breath, wondering if they would be chosen and wished that for the case. Even Myria felt a vague sense of excitement that she couldnʼt help but think being with these young ladies made her young as well.

Even Evelynn and Natalya, who just held him, wanted more time as a few hours just wasnʼt enough!

*Bzzz!~*

Abruptly, a ray of light descended and illuminated a beauty.

Every head turned in that direction, and their bated breaths stuck in their throats.

”Eeek~”

Mingzhi flinched as she held her her head down for the one who was chosen to be in the spotlight was someone outside the round table.

Davisʼs mouth went agape before he realized that the formation had messed up, causing him to shake his head ruefully.

”…”

Clara blinked.

She… was in the spotlight.

Everyone was frozen or silent, unable to believe their eyes.

A few seconds later, light returned to the chamber as the spotlight disappeared.

”This must be some kind of mistake.” Clara calmly uttered, finally triggering some responses.

”It should be.”

”Is this valid…?”

”Fufu~”

Evelynn wryly smiled while Isabella raised her brows in doubt, and only Tia giggled.

”Yes, it is a mistake!” Mingzhi stood up, ”I apologize as it seems this formation isnʼt fine-tuned to be bound around the round table but the entire chamber, so all women here were included in this formation.”

”Oh- that makes sense,” Claire uttered.

Her doubtful expression receded as she nodded with a relieved smile while Logan still had his eyes narrowed.

”Iʼm sorry.” Bylai also stood up, ”I thought only we sisters would be the ones here goofing around, so I subconsciously designed this formation to cover the entire chamber. Mingzhi, Iʼm ashamed to put you in trouble.”

”Not at all.”

”Let me take responsibility-”

”No.” Mingzhi waved her hand, ”Formations tend to screw up as weʼre still doing trial and error, and itʼs not like weʼre in a life and death battle, so this mistake is, by no means, deserving of scolding, much less punishment. You have my word as the Head of the Law Enforcement Department.”

”Thanks...”

”I apologize for embarrassing you, Clara.” Bylai also clasped her hands towards Clara and bowed.

”Not a problem.”

Clara lightly shook her head, ”I understand mistakes happen as weʼre still building the Davis Family.”

”Youʼre so mature…”

Bylai was intrigued, and the others couldnʼt help but feel the same.

However, Bylai came from the Zlatan Family where it was allowed to marry blood brothers and sisters. She couldnʼt help but look take a look at Clara closer.

”So if the Davis Family is the main branch now, what about the Alstreims and Lorets? Are we the branch families?”

Founder Alstreim Windstorm asked as though wanting to change the topic, causing Mingzhi to look at him gratefully.

”That would be the case unless you want to leave and be separated from us, but do know there is a time period for this as in a decade, you canʼt leave even if you want to without encountering consequences. Of course, there is no need for anyone to adopt ʼDavisʼ as your family name as the name belongs to us sisters and his children alone.”

”Also, it is not a matter of branch families but a matter of close families or clans banding together with the Davis Family at the top. Naturally, you will also follow our family law and receive the same benefits under the tax code without any type of discrimination. If you do face any discrimination, please file a complaint to the Law Enforcement Department, and I or the other two heads will see to it.”

08:49

”Wonderful.”

Founder Alstreim Windstorm nodded three times, and the others also nodded with smiles.

Even though incorporating into the Davis Family came with heavy risks, they also wanted to be with him as they knew Davis wouldnʼt abandon them.

After clearing a few other doubts, Mingzhi asked the others to leave.

They left to enjoy the banquet outside in the courtyard after congratulating Davis for the creation of his new family, leaving behind the Harem Council and Davis.

”Now, weʼll do it again.”

Mingzhi heaved a long sigh.

Today had been a long day, and she wished to be selected this time but the others also held the same passion.

The lights went off, and a ray of light descended on someone.

The moment they saw who it was, veins popped on Mingzhiʼs forehead.

”Fuck! This womanʼs luck is off the charts!” She cursed as she screamed out, bringing a string of laughter.

The one who was chosen was none other than Shea.

She went shy, smiling as she kissed little Sheriaʼs forehead.

”Yeah,” Sophie sighed, ”Shea got pregnant the first time and gave birth, and now she is the recipient of the first selection from the Harem Council.”

”She is too lucky!” Natalya whimpered.

”Poor Mingzhi~”

Even Fiora felt some pity for Mingzhi. She did all this today, so she mustʼve been the one to get rewarded but Sheaʼs luck was simply too good.

Davis chuckled a bit before he stared at the winner.

”Shea, can I choose another woman along with you for tonight?”

”…!?

Everyone was shocked at his request.

”Of course, my love~”

Shea still smiled without a single change in expression. She didnʼt appear to be possessive at all but only wished to spend time with him together.

”Ah- wait,” Mingzhi flinched as though she had revived, ”this will also be decided by the formation that chooses at random.”

”No, the Harem Council had its chance, and I can choose anyone I want since I gained permission from the one who was chosen before.”

”Hgh~” Mingzhi held her heart as though she had been shot.

Davis just shook his head before he looked around for a long time, finally opening his mouth.

”To accompany Shea and me, I will choose— no one.”

”…?”

Evelynn and the others raised their brows.

Then why did he even bother asking?

Shea also looked confused, but a second later, her eyes widened as she felt like she understood. Her cheeks blushed as she realized Davis had made a choice to spend time with her alone.

It wasnʼt the Harem Council that chose her for tonight but him. That meaning made her romantic heart swoon.

Davis narrowed his eyes, ”Ellia, Lea, Tina, Iesha, Tanya, Dalila, Panqa, Lanqua, Yilla, and Schleya… for the next nine years, we were supposed to get married, but the time allotted to us doesnʼt allow for such delightful events to take place. We must use the remaining time to dedicate ourselves to cultivation. Next year, we may not be even alive, so if I am unable to fulfill my promise to you all, forgive me-”

”Davis…”

”-But if we survive, weʼll stick to the plan without fail as I still want to marry you all in a proper manner.”

”Yes!”

”We will be waiting!”

The ladies echoed and even Eldia who had not been named rejoiced as she also wanted to experience this thing called marriage after seeing how joyful it made the others. After all, as a wild spirit, she initially didnʼt care.

Davis walked closer to the nineteenth seat and smiled.

”Shea, it will be the same for you, but we are going to treat this day as our marriage night and spend a full day sleeping together. Are you fine with it?”

”Iʼm honored~”

Shea stood up when Lanqua came to her side to take Sheria away from her.

When Davis extended out his hand, Shea clasped it as she looked rosier than ever, making everyone smile.

On this night, Davis fully intended to dual cultivate with Shea and have her become powerful since she was looking after her child most of the time, even after becoming an Immortal King.
