Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3567  Laws Established

Everyone raised their brows in curiosity.

The one who raised their hand in objection was none other than Yilla.

”I donʼt understand why I am chosen to be one of the three Heads of the External Affairs Department. As far as I know, it is the number one position in any power that would be suspected of betrayal in the wake of any information leak, and I havenʼt earned enough trust to be placed in such a position.”

Mingzhi couldnʼt help but grin as she pointed at Yilla.

”Thank you for being bold enough to speak out, but if you want to know the answer to your question, ask our Patriarch. Heʼs the one who recommended you, Yilla.”

”…!?”

Yillaʼs eyes widened as she turned to look at Davis, who was still seated like an Emperor watching his subjects discuss.

He turned his face, his gaze falling on her, ”I believe you, Yilla.”

”…”

Yilla felt her heart skip a beat.

”Will you accept my decision?”

”Ah, yes~”

Yilla lowered her head, blushing heavily.

Right now, she was overwhelmed by the urge to prove that Davis was right in choosing her to be one of the three Heads of the External Affairs Department. It wasnʼt like she didnʼt have any experience.

Even in back in the Zyrus Family, she had her own small intelligence network. Her dance girls were above average when it came to information gathering and thatʼs why she was able to stay unharmed from any conspiracies or devious plot that wanted to sweep her in.

She was also familiar with schemes as it was commonplace in the wicked path, so if she saw one in a external meeting setting, then she should be able to counter it.

Indeed, Davis chose her for the very same reason.

Lea was a Sect Master who knew the schemes of the righteous path and Yilla was just the opposite who could see through the schemes of the wicked path. Together with Natalya, he was confident that they could take care of the external matters of the family when it comes to diplomatic relations.

”Anyone else who wants to opine?”

”…”

There was a long pause before Lea opened her mouth.

”Even if I pull on my hair, I wouldnʼt be able to come up with such an intricate version of laws that govern the family. You owned this one, Mingzhi.”

With even an ex-Sect Masterʼs seal of approval, Mingzhi was heartened.

”Alright, I take it that the preliminary set of laws is good enough until we need to make amendments.”

She nodded with a smile and waved her hand, ”Now letʼs vote.”

Everyone seated before the round table nodded and used the crystal mechanism hidden under the table.

The moment Mingzhi said her words, a subtle barrier appeared, disallowing any kind of probing or surveillance. It created a sense of privacy within, allowing the members to cast their votes freely without any fear of judgment or reprisal.

Mingzhi stood at the center but at the same time the barriers appeared, a projection also appeared beside her.

It displayed the number of votes in real-time.

The barrier also disallowed one to see past the projection, allowing them to focus on their own thoughts. It was done since the discussion was already over and their decisions should no longer be swayed.

Since they couldnʼt see the projection, they wouldnʼt vote for the majority or minority as well.

”The voting will end in a minute from the start and thereʼs a ten second grace period for abstainers to vote, after which, the votes will be finalized.”

Mingzhi said it after three seconds, but she saw that the voting was already complete, leaving her smiling proudly.

[8 - 0 - 0]

There were eighteen members of the twenty-six who had official positions, so the remaining eight members get to vote in the Unity Forum.

With the voting having ended, the barriers came down instantly, causing Fiora and the others to giggle.

”Now, the Harem Council will vote on it.”

The barriers quickly appeared again, but two seconds later, the results were already out.

[26 - 0 - 0]

”…”

Mingzhi couldnʼt help but shake her head, ”At least make it appear like youʼre not favoring me!”

”Ahaha!~”

The chamber burst out in laughter.

Getting the unanimous vote in both the Unity Forum and the Harem Council, Mingzhi turned to look at Davis who was on the throne.

”Shall we establish your law, my dear?”

Davis gave the nod, ”Go ahead, Mingzhi.”

A bright smile took over Mingzhiʼs lips before she panned her gaze and opened her mouth.

”The legal system of the Davis Family is hereby established, and every member in it is compelled to follow it to the end!”

”Yesss~~~”

Fiora roared and thereby, making the others scream as well with expressions full of delight. They were goofing around but this was a monumental moment where the Davis Family was established for real with enforceable laws overseeing it.

This meant that they had become a true power now both internally and externally for they already have been knowledgeable by many powers.

”Yay!~”

Eterna, Celestia, Evan, Laura, and even Aurelia raised their hands and celebrated even though they were clueless about what was happening. Of course, Eterna and Celestia could understand that there were more rules restraining them now, but what about it? They hadnʼt felt it yet, but everyone was celebrating, so they cheered on as well.

It was the same for Evan and Laura.

As for Aurelia, she simply adored her elder sisters and did the same as them.

There was also a blonde-haired boy the same age as Aurelia. He imitated them, cheering on. He was none other than Ancestor Dian Alstreim and Ancestor Tirea Snowʼs son, Ace Alstreim.

”Shisheshe~ I got the right to kill you if you ever cheat on me.”

Diana giggled at her husband, Wayn Nolan, who could only wryly smile in confusion.

”Didnʼt you already have it?”

As far as he considered, he was stuck with the same woman for the rest of his life, and he was willing to remain that way. More than that, he was confident that Diana wouldnʼt cheat on him, so this rule of having the right to execute the adulterer was as useless as it could be for them.

Besides, a similar kind of rule already existed in the Loret Family, but it was even more ruthless as it affected three generations.

After all, the Loret Family was an imperial family.

If anything, this rule was modified to be more tame in the Davis Family, in his opinion.

”Now, the Patriarch has some important ground rules to establish, which cannot be forgotten or ignored, and if neglected, there would be severe consequences that would await you.”

Mingzhi gestured at Davis, causing him to inwardly grumble.

Of course, he had some time to think about the Ten Commandments, so he got off his throne and flew to the center majestically.
