Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3546  Cornered Into A Dead End

The World Master finally stopped the distortion that blurred her features. The shape of her eyes was just like Saintess Lunariaʼs, and the latter wouldʼve found that the World Master was like a twin to her if it werenʼt for the distortion.

”World Master…”

Myria stepped forward, ”The happenings in the past few hours have gone beyond our control… our love for each other couldnʼt be contained. If you do kick us out, we donʼt have any reason to be angry or retaliatory against you, but I hope you will hear us out.”

”Myria, we donʼt need to be diplomatic about this matter.”

Davis interrupted, causing Myria to look at him and shake her head.

However, Davis also shook his head.

As much as Myria had a plan, he wasnʼt willing to be begging anymore. The last time he had tried to explain himself and relay his apologies, he got trapped, so he wasnʼt willing to make the same mistake- no, blunder on the same day.

”Throw us out if you want, but that would also seal your chances of reviving yourself.”

Davis plainly spoke, appearing unamused.

”Are you sure you want to use that kind of tone with me?”

The World Master glared at Davis, making him feel an enormous amount of pressure, ”Iʼm not kind of ecstatic right now despite seeing a ray of light at the end of the tunnel.”

”…”

Davis shuddered, but he smiled, thinking it was as expected. The World Master was plenty powerful.

She escaped from the Celestial Transcendent, for heavenʼs sake.

To be a spearhead of the heavens during tribulations, he guessed the Celestial Transcendent must be one of the strongest- if not, the strongest in the entire Three-Layered Universe!

To escape from someone like that, the World Master shouldʼve been also one of the strongest. Unfortunately, she got flung out of the era by a Divine Punishment Tribulation whose intensity he couldnʼt fathom.

Otherwise, he believed she couldʼve overtaken the heavens with how her cultivation method worked. If not, he imagined that the heavens wouldnʼt have gone crazy aggressive on her.

Davis smiled forcefully, ”We will apologize for the trouble we have caused, not through words but through actions— only if you will give us a chance. As for throwing us out, are you capable of throwing away your only hope when you finally chanced upon it? You can be cruel to yourself, but not at this junction where youʼre near to death more than any point in time.”

”What makes you think Iʼm not willing to end it all here?”

”Just a guess without any evidence to back it up. Despite living for millions of years, Iʼm sure you donʼt want to die as well.”

Davis spread his hands, continuing, ”Just state your terms for us instead of making us feel more guilty than we already feel for taking advantage of your kindness. Then, we can come to an agreement even if it involves sacrificing myself.”

”Davis…!”

Myria yelled at him, wondering why he would always throw himself out of the window to make space for the others to live. However, before she could say anything else, Davis continued in a solemn voice.

”Myria, she needs the reincarnation cycle from us. That the only way she can heal her soul back to health and even strengthen her cultivation by many times is if the cycle integrates with her universe, which can be done— as long as I become a sacrifice, right?”

Davis returned his gaze to the World Master, asking her with raised brows.

Myria clenched her fists. Of course, she could also tell how important they were, but this wasnʼt how she envisioned their future.

She was willing to slowly cultivate with him and ultimately form a reincarnation cycle, one that doesnʼt need for them to sacrifice themselves. She didnʼt know how they could reach that level but everything wasnʼt lost right now, so why go to such lengths!?

No- she understood why they had to go to such lengths, but she absolutely didnʼt want to take that path!

”You honestly expect me to believe that you would just reach your neck out and wait for me to behead you?”

The World Master finally spoke, her voice appearing unamused.

Davis raised his chin in response, ”Why donʼt you bring out some terrifying binding contract and lock me in? You have the leverage, so I donʼt think I can decline.”

The World Master shook her head.

”Such things wouldnʼt work unless youʼre willing since if you decide to become the cycle itself, then you would control it. I wouldnʼt. Even the powerful teleportation rune shattered, which can lock in Empyreans shattered, and the reincarnation energy cleanses everything karmic bound and curse bound. Iʼd be falling into your devious hands if I let you become the owner of the reincarnation cycle and integrate with my universe. Your plan is to stand equal to me and wrest control away from me. Isnʼt that right?”

The World Master uttered coldly, causing Davis to smirk in an amused manner.

It seemed like there really was no way out for him, but he didnʼt think that far ahead because the future he envisioned right now was being a mindless slave.

There was no other choice as he didnʼt think he could overwhelm the World Masterʼs Will. If there was a chance, then it would be at the time he would finally heal her using the energy of the reincarnation cycle to get rid of the divine punitive lightningʼs aura that disallowed the World Master to heal.

Nonetheless, he still couldnʼt see how he could wrest away the World Masterʼs universe. That was a fantasy, and he didnʼt know why or how the World Master would arrive at that kind of speculation.

The World Master glared at Davis before she turned to look at Myria.

However, suddenly, Davis raised his hand, blocking her sight from Myria.

”You deal with me and not anyone else. You understand?”

”Do you hate me… hate this face?”

The World Master returned her gaze to him, looking at him with wide eyes.

”No. Iʼm perfectly capable of differentiating between you and Saintess Lunaria since I had my fair share of experience dealing with clones of oneself.”

Davisʼs lips curled as he continued, ”All Iʼm saying is if you touch anyone else in my family, then me becoming your enslaved reincarnation cycle is off the table. I would do everything in my power to stay away from Myria so that she doesnʼt become a reincarnation cycle.”

”You think Iʼd let you become that…?”

Myria interrupted with a somber voice, her fists trembling.

”Myria, hear me-”

”Enough!”

Davis was about to explain, but Myria waved her hand, turning to look at the World Master.

”Throw us out or kill us. I donʼt care anymore, but I will never allow you to make him captive in your universe and act as the reincarnation cycle, like a mindless being, for an untold- endless number of years!”

Even now, Myria could remember how she endured the loneliness of tens and thousands of years, but she couldnʼt imagine how lonely Davis would feel if he became a reincarnation cycle and endlessly did only one function like a construct.

That would no longer be human, much less any kind of being. At that point, she felt death would be a salvation.

Just imagining him in that place made her feel horrible.

She wouldnʼt stand for such a deal and neither would her sisters or even Ellia for that matter. They would never forgive her if she allowed this kind of deal to pass.

*Bzzz!~*

Myria reached out her hand towards Davis, brimming with her undulations stemming from her two Eternal Life Physiques.

”Grimoire of Fate, come to me!”

”…!”

Davis felt a tumultuous tug in his soul, feeling Fallen Heaven being yanked out of his soul. He was shocked yet not surprised that Myria was capable of this. She was truly the arch-master of Fallen Heaven and he was nothing but the Anarchic Divergent who stole her fate.

However, he narrowed his eyes, imbuing his own Will upon Fallen Heaven from leaving his soul and stepped closer, wrapping his hands around Myria in an embrace.

”Itʼs enough, my Saintess. We have reached the end. I donʼt see how the World Master would send us out since it is of the utmost importance that one of us becomes part of the reincarnation cycle in order for her to regain her soulʼs health. Perhaps if I have a chance to regain myself, Iʼll come see you first. Look, Evelynn is going to cry… but that should make you feel better, right…?

”Nooo…”

Myriaʼs voice was anguished as she cried her heart out, tears spilling out her eyes. She still tried to tug the Grimoire of Fate out of him, but he was still stronger than her. His Will was also like a staunch wall, disallowing her from taking control of it.

If she had the Grimoire of Fate, perhaps she could become the reincarnation cycle herself, spare Davis and his loved ones from the horrible fate that the World Master would impose upon them.

After all, she also understood that there was no way out for them.

She felt indignant. She felt aggrieved.

Her face churned, starting to turn resentful of the universe.

It wasnʼt even a single day of happiness, and she was met with this crap!?

Why!? Why her!? Why her loved ones!?

”…!”

Davisʼs lips twitched, feeling a more potent tug on his soul, trying to yank out Fallen Heaven.

At this rate, she really was going to take Fallen Heaven away from him if he did nothing.
