Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3542  Do or Die?

”Wix, hold her down.”

”Master, you-”

The Void Dust Empress looked confused, appearing to not know what was happening as she looked between Myria and Saintess Lunaria. She raised a spatial barrier, causing the distance between Myria and Davis to elongate even though she stood in the same place.

”Hmph!~”

Myria raised her hand and flicked her fingers, causing space to churn.

The expanding wave of spatial energy abruptly came to a stop, shuddering before they reversed and dispersed.

Her immortal martial energy could boost her immortal soul force but the same could be said about her immortal soul force boosting her immortal martial energy. Although it was now one of life and death, it didnʼt mean her usage of Space Laws had decreased.

It took her more energy, but other than that, her comprehension of Space Laws remained as erudite as ever, even canceling out the Void Dust Empressʼs spatial expansion.

Without it, she wouldnʼt have been able to escape all the dangers she faced in the true immortal world.

”…!”

As the spatial expansion receded and space returned to normal, the Void Dust Empress was shocked.

Even though she didnʼt use much power behind her move, she felt it was enough to lock one Myria in place. However, Myriaʼs prowess was twelve levels higher, leaving her shocked as this had entered the realm of Late Stage Immortal Emperor!

She thought only the Divine Emperor of Death was capable of reaching this level as he had killed Ancestor Reselius Zenflame through unknown methods, but it seemed like even Myria was capable.

What was going on? She couldnʼt understand.

Saintess Lunariaʼs brows also raised, although her gaze was still cold.

”Myria, calm down.”

Myria was about to make her way over to him again, but his voice caused her to stop.

She saw Davis was still alive, his voice normal. He didnʼt seem to be in pain other than having his cultivation forcefully restricted, but that was enough for her to be pissed off beyond compare.

”This is a breakage of trust! What do you have to say for yourself, Lunaria!?”

Myria glared at Saintess Lunaria, causing the Guardians to be visibly shaken.

Most of them didnʼt know about Myria and Saintess Lunariaʼs relationship, so in their eyes, this was a case of a personal disciple rebelling against the master, but keeping the situation in mind, they didnʼt consider this an overreaction from Myria, especially considering when his family said he married Myria today.

That information seemed to be true right now as the calm and elegant image in their mind of Myria came crashing down with how aggressive she looked right now. They had never seen her this shaken in their life when their image of her was supposed to be even colder than some cold-blooded killers as she kept to herself.

”Myria.” Saintess Lunaria finally opened her mouth, ”What reason do you have to make me believe that the apex treasure didnʼt possess him?”

”Are you crazy? If he was, you and your Guardians wouldnʼt be alive as this would be over in an instant.”

”…?”

The Guardians looked confused, but looking at the chains they were holding, they supposed it would be the case. Otherwise, Saintess Lunaria wouldnʼt have order them to use such a thing.

Moreover, they narrowed their eyes at the mention of an apex treasure. Is that what potentially allowed the Divine Emperor of Death to topple the Fire Phoenix Clan since they figured he couldnʼt have reached the peak of the Immortal Emperor Stage all by himself?

Saintess Lunaria hadnʼt said anything to them other than the fact that she mentioned that he was capable of killing them all at once, and with the recent tug on their souls, making them have a near out-of-body experience, they were inclined to believe her words.

”We are prepared for doom.” Saintess Lunaria heaved a soft breath.

”These chains… they will crush him the moment six of my Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Guardians let it go if they were to die, assuring mutual destruction. As for myself, Iʼm sure Iʼm at the top of the list, but that doesnʼt matter.”

”Oh, so these chains arenʼt exactly holding me prisoner but saving me from being crushed…? Thatʼs such a fine creation to imprison people like me…”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile.

This was an excellent contraption to trap him. He could see why this would assure mutual destruction as the six Guardians were holding the chains, not restricting him but disallowing the chains from crushing him.

He was impressed by Saintess Lunariaʼs sharpness. She didnʼt allow him to come out alive in case she were to die along with the others.

With this, his usage of Fallen Heaven was also half-sealed unless he directly controlled them. So he was still calm. However, looking at Saintess Lunariaʼs expression, he narrowed his eyes.

”Youʼre serious…” He uttered at her.

Saintess Lunaria returned her gaze to Davis, staring at his smiling gaze, which was calm even in this situation.

”He or… it was able to tug trillions of souls out of their bodies in the First Haven World, including even our own. Moreover, I confirmed that even in a hidden mini realm that was supposed to have cut off all contact with the First Haven World didnʼt escape his reach, so when it happened, I was convinced he went berserk, but it didnʼt seem to be the case unless something else has taken over him. Otherwise, the birth of such a phenomenon is inconceivable to me.”

Saintess Lunaria shuddered as she glared at Davis, ”Because of that, you even invited something extremely dangerous from the heavens, didnʼt you?”

”….”

The Guardians held the chains firmly, feeling sweat break out from their foreheads. There was this sinister feeling that they couldnʼt get rid of from their hearts. It was encroaching on them, making their breaths laborious.

”What a good speculation…”

Davisʼs lips curled before he lowered his head and opened his mouth, ”Haha.”

”Aha- ahahah!~”

”…!”

He couldnʼt help but laugh more, which seriously alarmed the Guardians. Even Saintess Lunaria looked a bit spooked as she adopted a defensive posture with raised hands.

”Hmm…”

Davis suddenly stopped laughing, raising his head, ”Unfortunately, Saintess Lunaria couldnʼt be any more wrong about me getting possessed. I, Davis Loret, the Divine Emperor of Death, can swear that I am still sane and prove-”

*Crack~*

Abruptly, a spatial crack appeared before Davisʼs face, making him blink.

The others also narrowed their brows at this sudden spatial fracture that came from nowhere and they didnʼt see Davis do it. If he did, then they couldnʼt understand how he could possibly elude their senses while still having his cultivation sealed.

*Rumble~*

Abruptly, the palace shook, causing everyone to shake.

Saintess Lunaria and the six Guardians were all shocked.

This was a floating palace, for heavenʼs sake! Were they being attacked!?

”On it!”

The Void Dust Empress quickly spread her senses, intending to take care of the interlopers, but once she saw everything through her senses, her heart shook, her eyes widening in shock.

”M-Master…!” She screamed out.

”What is it!?”

Saintess Lunaria trembled as she turned to look at Davis with one of her eyes, her gaze moving between Wix Voidfield and Davis.

Had he already unleashed the reckoning- no, the apex treasure unleashed its hate against the world?

Was she too late to stop it? Intense regret encumbered her heart, making her feel like she shouldʼve killed the host before it was too late. No, it was too late to protect the trillions of lives in the First Haven World.

The Void Dust Empress shook, unable to believe the scene occurring in front of her, ”Master… the spatial cracks are forming all over the world, and I detected as much as hundred and twenty-four spacequakes within the Central Divide, still growing as we speak…!”

”What!?”

”…!”

Saintess Lunaria and the Guardians almost jumped.

The First Haven World was forming fissures and encountering spacequakes all over the place…?

The way they heard it… it was as though the world was coming to an end…?

The Guardians loosened the grip on the chains that held Davis, and everyone glared at him.

”Uhm… thatʼs not me…”

Davis uttered but the looks he was receiving didnʼt look quite good. It was the gaze that deemed he was already guilty.

”Stop!”

Myria screamed out, feeling their murderous intentions to kill him sweep all over the room.

”All that happened before was because we had dual cultivation! This has nothing to do with him or us!”

”…?”

Saintess Lunaria narrowed her eyes, her heart skipping a beat.

She had to save the world or let it die. She didnʼt know the full account of what had happened but with the way the situation unfolded, that was the only two choices she saw in front of her, making her heart shudder.

It was always like this… a do-or-die moment, and only after the situation ended would she know if she was right or wrong or, sometimes, could never chance upon an answer.

”Sorry… I…”

Saintess Lunaria raised her hand, tremblingly pointing at Davis-
