Divine Emperor of Death

- when she suddenly realized something.

The world was being practically destroyed, but the World Master had yet to appear.

Such a figure wouldnʼt simply allow the trillions of lives to meet an end in an instant, so was Myria telling the truth?

This had nothing to do with them?

Saintess Lunaria was feeling the heat, her vision narrowing. A split second decision was all she needed yet why was she hesitating after all this was beyond her, causing her to start to ventilate.

She was going to be killed if she waited any longer, and she wouldnʼt even see it coming!

”Thatʼs enough.”

However, a calm voice suddenly echoed, causing Saintess Lunariaʼs senses to return. The tunnel vision she put herself also receded, allowing her to breathe properly.

She finally saw Davisʼs expression again. It was no longer amicable but instead was indifferent, perhaps suppressing a belly of anger.

”Stay your hand, Saintess Lunaria. Donʼt make me feel more disappointed than I already am.”

”…”

His voice echoed across the chamber, causing the Guardians to strengthen their grip on the chains. They trembled, feeling like the end was near with how cold his voice sounded, but they were still of mind of following Saintess Lunaria to death.

They were prepared to die. They werenʼt kidding as their mission was to maintain peace in the Aurora Cloud Gate but when it came to Divergents, it also their mission to eradicate them if they were evil.

It was true the Divine Emperor of Death was a real threat since he accepted that he was the or one of the reasons for the terrifying tug they felt in their souls like they were going to be ripped apart.

So they were intent on sacrificing their lives if they could save the trillions of lives in the First Haven World.

They were also one of the reasons why the Divine Emperor of Death could grow safely. They protected him on a few occasions and his family on many other occasions just by accepting them into the sect, so they felt all the more inclined to end him if he was going to harm the world for no reason.

They felt it was their responsibility.

But now… their Saintess, whom they always followed without questioning, hesitated, putting her hand down.

They didnʼt know what to think other than they were going to get killed with that strange apex treasure he seemed to have.

They already knew he had something, and Davis already declared he had a trump card to the world, so they could put the two together and form a speculation that this so-called apex treasure that they had never heard of was absolutely terrifying!

”Master… the cracks are repairing, the spacequakes receding…”

The Void Dust Empress suddenly reported, ”The spatial rumbling seemed to have stopped…”

”…”

Saintess Lunaria pursed her lips.

Was someone playing a prank on her? Forcing her to make decisions?

*Rumble!~*

However, the palace shook once again, but this time, the spatial rumbling didnʼt seem to have a bigger magnitude as the Void Dust Empress reported only cracks had formed this time, with no spacequakes appearing.

Everyone waited for a while, staying still as water.

By this time, Saintess Lunaria also realized that these spatial rumblings had nothing to do with Davis or Myria or the apex treasure as they were right in front of her, doing nothing.

Time passed.

There were a few low bangs that resounded throughout heaven and earth.

The entire world was silent during this time, some running at first but later huddled under rocks or other structures, the children huddled in their motherʼs embrace.

Numerous reports came forth to one of the Guardians, the Guardian of Administration Department, Ryheris Yilan. He tried his best to answer the reports, so Davis came to understand that this phenomenon was occurring all over the world.

The Northern Divide, Central Divide, and Southern Divide. All places were affected without discrimination.

He was worried about his family, but hearing that the magnitude of these spatial rumblings was low, he was able to keep calm and assess the situation. With the information at hand, he could guess what was happening, and it made him sweat, not even allowing him to think about the current situation.

”You wonʼt kill me?”

Suddenly, Saintess Lunariaʼs voice echoed out, causing Davis to look at her, his lips curling into a mocking smile.

”Oh, for such a betrayal, I shouldʼve, but I canʼt.”

Saintess Lunaria held her breath, ”Why…?”

”That is simply the truth, and I canʼt do anything about it…” Davis shrugged, ”Now, if you will release me, that would be better. If youʼre worried about me killing you, then no- such trashy chains are not enough to seal the danger.”

”…”

Saintess Lunaria pursed her lips, considering a bit, but when she was about to speak, a pissed voice resounded.

”You dare insult my Yin-Yang Treacherous Chain Formation!?”

”Oh, Guardian Zera Nullheart.”

Davis turned to look at the Guardians who held the chains and spotted the owner of the Discordant Nexus Physique, ”So these chains are yours… no wonder theyʼre so complex, sealing my cultivation yet also trying to crush me into bits at the same time if not for the gracious hands of yours and the other Guardians…”

”Thatʼs right. These chains are meant to punish fellow Divergents who did evil and donʼt want to repent. Do you repent!?”

”Zera…!”

”No, no, Guardian Elysian Veritas, let her speak.”

Davis raised his brows at Guardian Zera Nullheartʼs husband, who had his eyes wide and appeared extremely cautious.

”I owe her more for safely mutating my Mingzhiʼs physique. Thanks to Guardian Zera, she has become more powerful than I expected…”

Davis smiled brightly, giving his thanks.

”….”

However, the Guardians on that side, including Guardian Zera Nullheart and Guardian Elysian Veritas, were shaken.

Was this the same person they knew? The pressure his gaze unleashed was simply heavy, not allowing any disrespect to be hurled. They knew instinctively better than to hound him, and even the chaotic emotions of Guardian Zera Nullheart came to know that it wasnʼt a good idea to bark at him at this time.

Did that apex treasure or something really possess him...? They couldnʼt tell!

Regardless, they lowered their heads, not matching gazes with an Immortal King, which left them feeling ashamed yet still scared.
