Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2895 Overwhelmed And Outnumbered

Davis inwardly grumbled at that reply.

To him, who hadnʼt developed his own cultivation method, those words were like a death knell. Moreover, he wasnʼt a giant in his own cultivation, as he felt there were others who were better than him in the same cultivation path. This made him suddenly realize that he had only been following a path similar to the others, even though it could be slightly different.

After all, the path he was taking in Essence Gathering Cultivation already seemed to be developed by the Blazing Thunderlight Sectʼs Founder. His Soul Forging Cultivation shared similarities with Myria, and his Body Tempering Cultivation felt like it was already mastered by this giant foe in front of him.

However, he couldnʼt help but confidently smile.

”In that case, Iʼll be the first to break that commonality.”

”Youʼre welcome to try.”

The Celestial Transcendent gently smiled when suddenly the annihilative heavenly wind dragon crashed onto Davis, pushing him further backward.

Davis felt an immense pressure weighing down him from enduring the dragonʼs aura. It was even heavier than the annihilative heavenly tribulationʼs aura, making his heart pound.

ʼIt came down at me first instead of being the last?ʼ

He wondered as he quickly used a spear made out of chaotic energy to block the imperial dragonʼs advances, stopping it from clawing him to death. Its speed was extremely fast and retained an explosive power capable of destroying Level Six Immortal King Stage Cultivators, its powers stemming like a derivation from the annihilative heavenly wind and the force of a dragon.

Nonetheless, with the annihilative heavenly wind dragon attacking him first when it attacked him last back in his Annihilative Immortal Tribulation, he knew that these Wills retained their memories of their bout. They were back here for revenge.

Seeing the annihilative heavenly wind phoenix and annihilative heavenly wind kirin near him from the other sides, along with the other nine Paragon Magical Beasts from further away, he quickly made a move.

”You can have this spear!”

Davis waved his left hand as he threw the annihilative heavenly wind dragonʼs balance along with the chaotic spear and disappeared.

”…!”

The twelve Paragon Magical Beasts suddenly came to a stop as though they had lost sight of him.

The Celestial Transcendent was also shocked as Davis disappeared from his gaze.

But then suddenly, they spotted him, but by that time, it was already too late.

Davis stabbed the Spear of Damnation on a jade-crimson serpentʼs head. The iridescent light overflowed into that annihilative heavenly wind serpent, causing its Will to collapse instantly. The serpent shuddered ever so lightly and then started to disperse, leaving behind the annihilative heavenly wind essence that Davis looked at it with greed before shaking his head and looking away.

”This reincarnation spear is meant for this serpent, the most dangerous out of all the Paragon Magical Beasts for me.”

Davis complacently spoke, but his silhouette was nowhere to be seen the next second.

”This child…”

The Celestial Transcendent uttered with a smile on his face, ”He already knew how to use the annihilative heavenly wind he plundered, reserving it for this moment...”

He knew the serpent was able to slow down time to a level that it may well be considered stopping time. If Davis Alstreim was caught up in something like that, then it was possible that he would lose the chance to fight back altogether, leaving him completely barraged.

*Rzzzzz!~*

The sound of air screeching could be heard amidst the deafening skies, leaving the Paragon Magical Beasts unable to locate him as their gazes moved to and fro. They tried to chase him around but couldnʼt match his speed!

*Ripp!~*

Nine heads flew into the air with a clean slice of an iridescent spear, their necks spraying annihilative heavenly wind as they fell apart.

”An undying foe would be a problem as well...”

Davis slashed with the Spear of Damnation, getting rid of the unknown hydra once and for all.

eαglesnovel`c,om *Boom!~*

A low rumble echoed, and he once again disappeared from the line of sight of the Paragon Magical Beasts. However, just as he arrived at his next foe, he was forced to come to a stop, his body flashing with the jade-crimson annihilative heavenly wind while his foot seemed to be radiating the wild power of the heavenly flames.

”Canʼt let you slay the next most dangerous opponent with karmic powers, can we?”

The Celestia Transcendent stood in front of the karmic turtle while his hands glowed with a grayish-silver glint, seeming ready to blast Davis into oblivion if he had gotten any closer.

ʼTch, he read me...ʼ

Davis clenched his teeth as out of all the remaining Paragon Magical Beasts, the Celestial Transcendent was able to figure out whom he was going to target next, even though they were all dangerous in their own way.

He wanted to get rid of the time-warping serpent first before the hydra that he hadnʼt been able to battle before because the deathly wolf that had somehow gained sentience caused it to die. Nevertheless, he came to know that hydras boasted the highest regenerative prowess in the magical beast world, therefore making them near undying unless their multiple cores, which held one soul, were destroyed at the same time.

Thatʼs why he opted to choose it as his second target as opposed to this karmic turtle which he could somewhat deal with on his own but was still a troublesome opponent.

*Boom!~*

Davis exploded with the power of heavenly flames and launched himself at the annihilative heavenly wind phoenix, intending to finish it with one blow as the Spear of Damnation again manifested in his grasp. His cast time was reduced to a few seconds, allowing him to gain the advantage, or so he thought, when suddenly he saw the Celestial Transcendent appear in the corner of his eyes, causing him to become grim.

”Did you forget my body is made up of annihilative heavenly wind and annihilative heavenly lightning right now?”

The Celestial Transcendent maintained a calm smile as he flicked his hand.

*BOOOM!~*

The entire space between him and Davis has blasted apart, leaving him behind a surge of a shockwave that was deadly enough to crush any lives that were caught within.

However, the Celestial Transcendent narrowed his eyes and looked above, seeing that Davis had dodged his move.

”Your explosive speed using heavenly flames is indeed good, but are you certain that you can keep up your usage of annihilative heavenly wind?”

Davisʼs expression fell as he shot off into the distance, gaining as much distance as he could from the Celestial Transcendent while leading the Paragon Magical Beasts into a position where he could strike them.

However, the Celestial Transcendent was right on his tail, refusing to watch him finish off the Paragon Magical Beasts before getting to him.

ʼCurses. He saw right through my weakness...ʼ

Davisʼs senses descended to his limbs, where he saw his meridians being torn and healed by the rapid usage of annihilative heavenly wind and life energy.

Although dual cultivating with Fiora a few days ago had greatly helped him understand the Wind Laws of annihilative heavenly wind and use it, his body was also not compatible with this energy. Without Fioraʼs yin, there was no way he could withstand the intensity and tearing force of the wind.

His meridians were becoming injured and healed again and again, losing their durability in a short amount of time. The more he used the annihilative heavenly wind, the more he felt his body becoming worn out.

Yet, he had no choice but to use it.

Otherwise, he knew he would be easily caught within their barrage and find himself in a situation where he could extricate himself and die a slow yet gruesome death.

However, with the Celestial Transcendent following him like this, he knew his speed was sealed, making him unable to attack but only defend.

But at this moment, his eyes suddenly widened as he raised his hand.

*Ripp!~*

His arm was cleanly sliced through as death energy ripped through his chaotic energy like nothing, a ghastly presence appearing by his side.

*Whoosh!~*

He instantly shot towards the side, distancing himself from the deathly wolf that almost silently took his life with a single claw strike.

”Hehe… receiving one of my own moves isnʼt funny...”

But despite losing an arm and having it contaminated by death energy and even annihilative heavenly wind, he laughed, looking at the wolfʼs head fall from its neck while his Spear of Damnation also dispersed from seemingly having been used up. But at the same time, he felt his soul being tugged, causing him to shudder as he felt unable to move.

His gaze fell on the karmic turtle in the distance, his expression turning into one of fury.

”You damned turtle never learn, do yo-!”

Just as he raised his hand and was about to make a Spear of Damnation to cut down the karmic thread connecting them, he felt his scalp turn numb.

He flipped his body back, looking at a chaotic sword slashing past his neck. When he saw the skies, he saw that the darkened clouds were split apart, causing him to retreat using his utmost energy that broke the karmic threads out of sheer force of chaotic energy overwhelming his body!

”You broke the karmic binds through sheer force? Too bad...”

Davis had just regained his balance and stopped mid-air when he heard the Celestial Transcendentʼs words, causing him to feel a deathly chill.

*Pui!~*

He abruptly spat a mouthful of blood, but his eyes were wide in shock, noticing that his kidney had disappeared from his body, but when he raised his head and saw the karmic turtle, he recognized that blood was leaking out of its windy mouth.

His organs were being munched by the karmic turtle, causing him to shudder greatly.
