Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2856  Re-Estimation

After a few minutes, the powers started organizing their headcount as they had calmed down, seeing that there were no moves being made by Dead End or any assassin who couldʼve possibly infiltrated this banquet, for that matter.

Nonetheless, with the Central Primesky Alliance being officially invited, they finally got a large slot in the huge and wide palace reserved for their powers.

The Golden Crow Clan relocated with the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and the other powers of the Central Primesky Alliance.

Davis wondered how the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan was here so quickly, as though they were aiming for the right moment, but after he asked around, he came to know that the Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs Elder sent to protect him warned the Starlight Jade Wolf King of the Fire Phoenix Allianceʼs constant harassment after he had inevitably offended them over asking a few questions.

Hearing this, the Starlight Jade Wolf King dropped the alliance matters and departed to this banquet, but they didnʼt even cross that far before they received another soul transmission which revealed that Mo Tian was a Saint with life energy.

Instantly, the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan that came along with them used an Immortal Emperor Grade spatial treasure of rare and expensive nature to transport everyone with them to the banquet, allowing them to storm this place after they arrived outside.

Davis couldnʼt help but inwardly smile when he heard this. The people around him were now flocking to protect him.

On that note, he couldnʼt help but suddenly remember Myria.

Didnʼt she live as a Saintess with privileges like this, only to suddenly get hunted down when she was revealed as an Anarchic Divergent? That wouldʼve flipped anyoneʼs view of the world, causing them to go crazy. He couldnʼt believe how she was remaining sane despite all that had happened.

However, that only made him respect her more and want to cuddle her.

ʼBut… sheʼs still stubborn as ever...ʼ

Although he had relayed his intent, she hadnʼt said anything, neither had she paid a visit to this banquet, not that he required her to come here, but he wanted to see her face as it felt it was like a long time already, perhaps because he was being adored by many women but not by the woman he wanted the most.

”Panqa, donʼt be so stiff.”

He turned to look at Panqa, who was seated beside him, causing her to flinch.

Her gaze moved between him and elsewhere, her expression appearing to be completely flustered.

He turned to look aside and saw that even Lanqua, who was level-headed and forthright, had lost her composure, appearing to be deeply uncertain.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

Lanquaʼs gaze shook as she turned to look at Mo Tian. His black eyes were gentle and serene, but his gaze couldnʼt help but become more and more mysterious to her. Her lips moved.

”I think… us sisters should no longer trouble you, Saint.”

”Why do you think so?” Davis raised his brows.

Lanqua turned to look away, her lips quivering.

”Because I canʼt find ourselves the slightest bit worthy… After all, the women who are here… especially the five of the Twelve Celestial Fairies who are present here, are way above us in any way one could possibly tell. I already saw them throw many curious glances at you, Saint Mo Tian. When theyʼre in the competition, itʼs not only us, but no woman would have the confidence to compete for you...”

”…”

Davis heard the sorrow in Lanquaʼs voice. It was near despair, almost like she knew that she could never possibly be with him.

Raising his head, he panned his gaze.

Indeed, he was also enamored when he saw these so-called Celestial Fairies. Not mentioning their beauty, they were easy to identify since they received the most affection and adoration any time in this banquet, always surrounded by elders who protected them, men who courted them, and women who served them.

They were the empresses of phoenixes, and their reputation knew no bounds since they were ”Isnʼt that what I was saying all this time?”

Davis almost had the urge to shrug, but looking at her expression, his heart softened.

ranked in the Twelve Celestial Fairy Rankings. In terms of gaining favor, they would probably be only second to Saints if one excluded the most sought Apothecaries and Physicians.

He imagined that they had received hundreds of proposals already during their stay on this day, but all those women now more or less had their gazes on him, as Lanqua stated.

With a single pan of his head, he could understand how Lanqua felt, but when he turned to look at Panqa, he saw that her blushing face had gone pale.

ʼYou didnʼt even think of the competition, did you…?ʼ

Davisʼs brows twitched.

Unlike Lanqua, who was level-headed, Panqa appeared to be a dreamer. Possibly, she was utterly smitten with the fact that she was together with him, a true Saint right now, but with Lanquaʼs words, she came to understand that this situationship wouldnʼt last long.

Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle, throwing his hand at Lanquaʼs shoulder and patting her.

”And you thought you werenʼt troubling me all this time? Such foolishness. Since youʼre here, at least help me chase away these women whom I donʼt know. If I get more, Iʼm telling you my beauties would become sad even if they donʼt show it on their faces.”

Lanqua was stunned as she received Mo Tianʼs soul transmission through physical touch.

”Then you never had any wish to claim us, no?” Lanqua wryly smiled.

”Isnʼt that what I was saying all this time?”

Davis almost had the urge to shrug, but looking at her expression, his heart softened.

”But… Iʼm not against you two. After this banquet, if you still want me and if my women can accept you sisters, I may reconsider.”

Lanqua raised her brows.

Somehow, she felt as though she was being led on but looking at his undisturbed expression that possessed immense confidence, she couldnʼt help but find herself attracted. Combined with the fact that he was a Saint…

”Yes~”

She uttered, lightly leaning her head over his warm hand as she closed her eyes, imagining if this only was a dream, how easy it would be to forget.

Davis blinked. He patted her shoulders lightly once more before taking his hand away.

Soon enough, the banquet resumed, but first, the dishes were brought out to make the atmosphere more merry and friendly.

Furthermore, the Fire Phoenix Clan and Earth Dragon Clan assured that a poison check was already done and, if there were any, that it could be done while feasting, so everyone was also on the lookout while eating without even having to be told.

Davis was worried for Master Deathseeker, but seeing that there was no sign of him even after a while, he calmed. With the feast ongoing, there were only more and more discussions taking place, of course, centered around him.

But it wasnʼt him who was being asked questions, as Patriarch Soaren Goldsun and Patriarch Fenren Jadelight essentially put a stop to people questioning him. They refused to allow him to speak, speaking in his stead unless the entire Central Primesky Alliance congregated first, and it was already confirmed that this newborn alliance was on its way.

Davis didnʼt know what to feel as the Cyan Soul Rat Clan was also a part of this alliance. He had already decided to exterminate half of them at the very least, so to hear them appear to fight for his stead felt funny to him.

Nonetheless, the response from the Central Primesky Alliance was very fast as the Cyan Soul Rat Clan, Zyrus Family, and other powers appeared here in an hour somehow, but their gaze towards him was one of shock, not to mention renewed as their gazes were filled with far more reverence and respect than they had shown him before.
