Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2888  Crippled Emotions

Lai, Raves, and the other Immortal King took a step back, appearing a bit frightened.

The Emperor of Death had his head lowered, his expression unknown. But the way he destroyed the annihilative heavenly wind strike was enough to bring chill into their hearts.

They thought he used mysterious methods to quell the annihilative heavenly windʼs power, which was already mysterious, but crushing it by pure force? They felt rattled, shaken enough to feel like running away.

However, the moment they had this thought, it shook their hearts.

Instantly, their gazes become determined.

Although they werenʼt pressured by this annihilative aura, it was because they were here to kill the tribulation taker as heavenʼs warriors that they were temporarily excluded by the heavens. If not, even they would find it hard to use their full strength here.

”It doesnʼt matter if you have karmic virtue or not.” Lai sneered, ”What matters is the will of the heavens. You will die, even if not by our hands, by your little sisterʼs.”

”Indeed.” Raves admitted, his expression solemn, ”The heavens didnʼt ask us to stop you. It commanded us to get rid of you. Going against that heavenly call will only erode our mentality.”

Davis abruptly raised his head, glaring at them.

”What did you say?”

”…!”

The three of them flinched but didnʼt take a step back, holding their positions. However, looking at the Emperor of Death falter, Lai couldnʼt help but smile.

”Actually, is it even possible to go against the heavenly call?”

”I donʼt think so, and I havenʼt seen anyone do it.” The wind Immortal King spoke with a light smile, ”After all, just which heavenʼs warrior would be so callous and ungrateful enough not to heed the call of our creator who granted us with so much power, especially a ruler of our kind? Theyʼre the most loyal to the heavens, heeding its words to its utmost pleasure. Itʼs her ultimate fate.”

”…”

Davisʼs mind reeled as he stared at them speak with a face full of conviction and pride.

He could tell that they were intent on collapsing his willpower, but what if… what if they were telling the truth?

Hearing Myria tell him again and again that she would turn against them, he was fearful of this scenario, but now, he heard from their mouths that her mind would erode if she went against it?

”Clara…”

Davis closed his eyes, lamenting why she would be met with this cruel fate where she had to look at him, look at her own family with truly cold eyes. He didnʼt want such a fate for her, but even in her derailed fate, what she met was even more tragic.

Was she fated to die a death where the result was always tragic for her?

”Such a fate… I will break it…”

He spat out with rage in his voice, his fists clenching in fury. However, just as he was going to seem as though he was losing his mind to insanity, his expression changed, becoming serene.

”Itʼs fine. Even if my little sister stabs me in the back, I will not condemn her but wrap her around with warmth and allow her to know that I, her big brother, will not give up on her.”

He grinned, adopting a leisurely attitude as he beckoned them with his finger.

”Just donʼt stand there. Come, make yourselves useful to the heavens.”

”…!”

The three heavenʼs warriors had a change of expression as they felt furious. Although they acknowledged his prowess, did an Immortal Stage brat who has yet to ascend into the Immortal King Stage just call them useless?

At this moment, their eyes became bloodshot as they sacrificed their blood essences.

Flames surged, lightning crackled, and wind heavily rattled the atmosphere as they surrounded the Emperor of Death, intending to suppress him so that the heavens could take care of him in the last strike while the eighth annihilative heavenly wind blade fell.

Its location was unknown, but as heavenʼs warriors, they knew it was there, approaching the Emperor of Death at a level that reached Level Six Immortal King Stage!

=======

”Ellia!”

”Stop!”

Ellia screamed as she saw Clara become defensive with her actions, creating a layer of icy swords around her. However, her words werenʼt for her sisters who were coming to help her and separate them but for the elders who abruptly viewed Clara as a threat as they raised their hands to do something to her, whether it may be suppressing her or killing her at these confusing times.

A bunch of icy swords was flying around Clara. They had a tinge of ice phoenix energy but also seemed to harbor some other power. Nonetheless, her undulations surged, revealing to everyone that she was only at Level Four Immortal Stage. But even then, her prowess wasnʼt any lesser than others as they knew she could climb up to six levels higher at the very least, enough to wield the Peak-Level Immortal Grade icy sword in her hand with ease.

However, Sophieʼs expression was horrified as she looked at Clara using the ice sword she forged and gifted her stained with Elliaʼs blood. She didnʼt give it to her for such a purpose, causing her to feel even more pain and guilty than anyone at the scene.

”Ellia, you… youʼve always been disgusting in my eyes, but… recently, youʼve become even more revolting. A Divergent like you… should die…”

Clara raised her icy sword, pointing it at Elliaʼs face, right at her forehead where her soul lay.

However, Ellia stood up, her lips curling into a wry smile.

”Then why are you shaking, little Clara?”

Claraʼs gaze shook, but her expression remained cold, ”Because… youʼre revolting...”

”Is that so?”

Ellia took a step forward, alarming others as they tried to stop her.

”Wait…!”

”Not now!”

”Sheʼs under the influence of the heavens!”

Shirley, Isabella, and Lea screamed out, but Ellia didnʼt stop her movements, appearing before the icy sword as it lightly penetrated her stomach once again, causing blood to flow out while essence and martial energy rapidly leaked from the other as her dantian was penetrated, in other words, crippled.

”Thatʼs not right. The heavens donʼt completely influence people from what weʼve seen so far.”

Ellia spoke as she wiped the blood on her lips, ”I know you canʼt kill me, little Clara. Youʼre like my little sister, after all.

Claraʼs arm shook this time, but her hand moved forward.

”Ellia!” Sophie screamed out as she had her palms over her mouth, looking at the sword she created penetrate Ellia once again.

However, it stopped right after moving an inch, trembling as it was held by Claraʼs hand.

”Move…!” She yelled, appearing desperate.

”I have to go… Iʼm being called…!”

Ellia giggled ever so lightly, stepping forward.

”…!”

The sound of a sword slicing through flesh could be heard plenty as the others saw the icy sword penetrate Ellia all the way to the back, creating another big word that caused blood and energy to be pouring out.

They were stunned. The elders were dumbfounded, and even Clara seemed to freeze as she was wrapped around by Elliaʼs arms.

”No. I wonʼt let you go to your big brother, little Clara. If you go, he really might fail his tribulation, being the softie he is...”

Ellia whispered, causing Clara to tremble heavily. Elliaʼs arms were cold, yet they gave her some warmth, causing her purple eyes to flicker with realization.

”Get hold of yourself. Your big brother is depending on you to protect us.”

But hit with those words, Clara, who was about to say something, suddenly went stiff for a second before starting to tear up, her cold expression finally breaking down.

”Ellia… I… I…”

”Thereʼs no need to say anything.” Ellia patted Claraʼs head with a weak smile on her face, ”Being misled or confused by your own perception while influenced by your own and othersʼ bias is quite more common than one may think. My elder sister had the same reaction when she thought I was being mistreated by your brother back then. This aura of mine may be revolting, but you know who we are. Weʼre one family.”

”Yes~”

Tears ran down Claraʼs face. She let go of the sword with her trembling hands and let herself be supported by Elliaʼs warmth as she closed her eyes.

Seeing Clara come to her senses, everyone couldnʼt help but heave a sigh. They forced a smile at each other, not knowing what to do with them or how to explain this to their husband, but just as they were about to advise Ellia to heal herself as she was beginning to lose her cultivation at a rapid pace, she was abruptly pushed off.

Clara shoved Ellia away from her, abruptly holding her head.

”Ah… my headʼs paining… this… Iʼm still being called…”

Elliaʼs expression twitched. It could be seen she was in pain, but she reached out her hand, still willing to focus on Clara as she knew she knew the best, when suddenly a crimson blade that had taken thousands of lives descended on Clara.

”You- stop…!”

The others clamored, jumping towards a crimson-robed woman who suddenly appeared out of nowhere!
