Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2864 Altercation Inside

Davis sat together with many people on a long table that stretched from one end to another at the center of the hall.

The table was diamond-shaped, so the people who sat on it were able to see each other perfectly without having to reach forward or lean backward. On the table was a sumptuous feast, but also by his side were sumptuous feasts.

He turned to look to his left side and saw Fairy Aila Cherryweaveʼs big, glittering amethyst eyes.

It was obvious that the Celestial Fairies would at least look at him with favorable eyes since he was a Saint, but he didnʼt expect one to directly go for the attack, confessing to him in public.

Where was a fairyʼs reservation?

He didnʼt see such a thing in this woman, but he couldnʼt sense any malice or seduction from her as well. She just plainly told him that she was highly interested in him with how she worded her sentence and went on to munch food without caring about her appearance as a Celestial Fairy.

However, compared to her, he could see that the other Celestial Fairies were highly reserved but, for some reason, also quietened down.

”Saint Mo Tian, although weʼre of the same generation, can you please enlighten us with your teachings? Iʼd be interested to hear your valuable pointers for my cultivation path.”

”…?”

Davis turned to look at a sapphire-robed person with blue hair and ocean-pearl eyes.

ʼThe Young Clan Lord from the Water Dragon Clan…?”

Davisʼs smile became wry, ”Teachings? I have none for you all because I donʼt think I have reached such a level yet.”

”How can it be?” The Water Dragon Clanʼs Young Clan Lord spread his hands, ”I heard you were able to battle opponents even six levels higher than you in the Central Primesky Allianceʼs birth event despite being a Saint.”

”Is that true?”

Fairy Aila Cherryweaveʼs gaze became astonished as she turned to look at Mo Tian.

”Itʼs true!”

The Water Dragon Clanʼs Young Clan Lord smacked the table, ”It is said that he single-handedly won many votes for the powers in the Central Primesky Alliance that hired him. Isnʼt that right, Xerax?”

He turned to look in a direction, causing everyoneʼs heads to turn as well as they saw the Cyan Soul Rat Clanʼs King-Tier successor.

”Hmph. I suppose so.”

He seemed disinterested, drinking at the furthest corner of the table. In fact, he seemed furious to have been given a place so far, but this seating arrangement… he knew was based on peopleʼs strength except for the guest of honor that was Saint Mo Tian.

The ones closer to the center on the four sides of a diamond were stronger than the ones at the corner.

”Itʼs not much other than an honest dayʼs work.”

Davisʼs words sparked some veins to erupt on their faces. They could very well see he was acting with how he kept mincing his words, making himself be seen as humble when they heard he was not. But the women were all smiles, clouded by a layer of extreme curiosity, perhaps even fondness for the possession of the mythical life energy that was even rarer than death energy.

*Clang~*

”Fuck! I canʼt do this! Mo Tian, do you dare accept a challenge from me!?”

Abruptly, the sound of glass breaking, along with a daring challenge, was thrown at Mo Tian.

Davis blinked as he turned to look at a pink-robed man. The pink robe was refreshing amidst the cool-looking robes, but this pink robe was the same one as what Fairy Aila Cherryweave wore, allowing him to understand that he was from the same power as her.

Instantly, he knew what was going on but didnʼt even have the time to respond as his people were busy pulling him back.

”Young Master, you canʼt do this…! The other party is a Saint…!”

His men, or perhaps servants, who were behind him tried to calm him down using hushed voices.

However, the pink-robed man simply didnʼt stop glaring at him as though he had killed his father and mother.

”Joren, are you crazy? To think you have the gall to challenge a Saint.”

”You donʼt even stand a chance.”

”If we just go by the rumors, it is clear the Saint will win.”

”…!”

Joren Cherryweaveʼs expression contorted while Davis also became a bit stunned.

He understood that he was favored by women at the moment, but to be publicly supported like this was a new feeling for him. Moreover, those women who supported him werenʼt just nobodies. He could see that they were the Young Mistresses or Clan Mistresses from major powers, women he wouldnʼt get to know easily, even if he was a Young Master of a similar power.

ʼThis kind of life ainʼt bad… hehe-! Theyʼre finally here...ʼ

Just as he inwardly laughed, his gaze shook as he sensed familiar auras entering the hall.

Their presence was so huge and intimidating that it caused everyone to turn to look at them.

Davis also turned to look, witnessing his women walk in with graceful steps. Just the sound of their shoes tapping the floor was melodious to his ears, almost putting a wide smile on his face.

”Oh? I heard this was a gathering for the younger generation, but even old people are here.”

”Have we been lied to?”

Isabellaʼs firm and alluring voice echoed with amusement while Sophie raised her hand to her forehead and looked around, seemingly searching for something, perhaps an answer.

The silent crowd became slightly active again. They had seen them before in the banquet on the ground floor, but looking at them from this close, they felt like they had to reevaluate these women who were said to belong to the Emperor of Death.

How could they be so strong, not to mention some of them peerlessly beautiful like they were Celestial Fairies? Their hearts couldnʼt help but throb, thinking that if they werenʼt married or had children, one or two of them would definitely be in the Twelve Celestial Fairy Rankings. Even the others werenʼt so bad as they sensed immense power from them.

After all, beauty wasnʼt the only thing that the Twelve Celestial Fairies had. Their ranking was a testament to their prowess!

More particularly, they saw that blonde-haired, purple-eyed woman with a cold gaze.

Conversations flooded around, and they quickly found her to be the Emperor of Deathʼs younger sister, their eyes widening in response to her presence that also seemed over-encompassing.

Two people immediately got out from the diamond-shaped table and headed swiftly toward them.

Davis also had the urge to follow one of them and knock him on his head heavily, but he could only watch, acting like a bystander.

”Fourth inheritor Isabella Davis,”

”Fourth Inheritor Shirley, thank you for accepting our invitation. We welcome you to sit with us.”

The Earth Dragon Clanʼs Young Lord and the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Young Lord welcomed them with wide smiles, both of them giving them a warm welcome as they cupped their hands. However, the former even bowed his head, appearing to give immense respect.

Shirleyʼs brows twitched as she pointed her hand, ”Lars Zenflame, why are you not bowing like him?”

”Uh…?”

Lars Zenflameʼs smile froze. He stared at Shirley, obviously wanting to say that it was because Isabella was an Emperor-Tier existence but not her. Nonetheless, he forcefully smiled and bowed his head.

”Please welcome-”

”Ah, thatʼs enough. I canʼt bear to see your face anymore, so make yourself scarce while keeping your head lowered like that.”

Shirley waved her hand, walking right past him.

People could only see Lars Zenflame trembling crazily. It was unknown if he was crying or furious, but they silently laughed at him, taking joy at his current stature that had been reduced to going around apologizing because of his clanʼs mistakes.

Shirley walked further along with the others until they arrived at the table under the Earth Dragon Clan Young Clan Lordʼs offer. But as soon as they were there, Shirley raised her hand, phoenix flames surging from her fist as she smacked the table.

*Bam!*

Scarlet flames exploded at the center, causing everyone to retreat with narrowed eyes. The table itself was unharmed, but it was still burning with scarlet flames endlessly, like flames burning on oil.

”What is the meaning of this?”

”Meaning?”

Shirley looked as though she heard something funny, ”If you arenʼt all here to compare strength as the younger generation, what are you here for? To seduce Saint Mo Tian and get him into your alliance?”

”…”

Her sharp and revealing words left people a bit red-faced, especially the Celestial Fairies as they were unable to match their gazes with hers. More than their interests, their powers had also given them the green light to attract him, so this gathering between the juniors was turned into something tamer compared to the heat that would fly when they exchanged fists.

Regardless, Davisʼs brows twitched.

ʼOye, why are you getting all the attention on me…?ʼ

”Well said, Shirley- uh something woman!” Joren Cherryweave roared before he turned and pointed again, ”Mo Tian, do you dare to accept my-”

Davis was about to say something to get the heat away from him, but his pupils shook as he saw a kick coming from the corner of his eyes, causing him to slightly tilt his head.

*Whoosh!~*

A huge force simply smashed through the air and hit the ceiling, breaking many chandeliers into millions of glass pieces.

”Oh? You dodged my strike?”

Isabella lowered her long leg, smiling at Mo Tian behind her veil while the latterʼs gaze shook again as he sensed their mild auras from a close range, brimming with hostility.

It couldnʼt be that his beauties really forgot that he, Mo Tian, was Davis Alstreim, their husband, no?
