Divine Emperor of Death

2494 Fondness

Davisʼs face held a knowing smile as he walked across the hallway, but unfortunately, he didnʼt have time to act on his thoughts at that moment. But naturally, he didnʼt lie to Schleya as Evelynn, Isabella, and Mira were indeed waiting for him.

But before that, he had one last person to meet and would also be helpful with the upcoming procedure he was going to perform on Mira.

He found her room and entered, as it wasnʼt particularly closed, looking at her with a bit of emotion.

”Everlight…”

”Master~”

Everlight was in her human form, simply appearing gorgeous and transcendent as her melodious and clear voice resounded. Her facial features were that of a vixenʼs, and she appeared rather flirtatious when smiling, just like now, where she displayed an innocent smile upon seeing him.

Her white hair fell like a waterfall behind her head, reaching her waist and covered in azure strands. They were like jade threads hanging on her hair which made her appear breathtaking.

Davis couldnʼt help but take a deep breath as the scent of life was everywhere in the room.

This kind of fragrance amazingly refreshed the tiredness in his mind over tackling many enemies today, giving him a momentary reprieve to face more matters and even train with better focus.

Moreover, not only was her aura clearer and stabler than before, indicating that she had better control over her body, but her aura also radiated a sacred feeling and came off as unsulliable, which also sought to provoke his overgrown pride and ego.

Fortunately, his will was still able to hold that feeling off from doing something lewd to Everlight.

”Everlight, I assume you have managed to take control of your body?”

”Yes, master~ The dissonance has almost disappeared, and I got used to it, so it is as good as disappeared.”

Everlight sweetly answered. However, seeing her maintain her distance, Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

”Do you want to try where we left out last time?”

”Ah~”

Everlightʼs expression became one of embarrassment as she remembered what she had tried to do previously. She hid her face with her hands, seemingly unable to see eye to eye with him for that kind of disgrace.

”Master, forgive me for lying. I donʼt have that kind of control yet~”

Everlight confessed as she knelt on the ground and revealed her apologetic face, causing Davisʼs brows to widen.

That was a gesture impossible for an Emperor-Tier Immortal Beast to be capable of displaying. If she had this kind of control over her body and yet was unable to control her desire to be with him, then it seemed like the instincts of the Nine Lives Gracious Fox valued virtue over pride.

At this point, he felt like this species shouldʼve been named Nine Lives Virtuous Fox.

”I was just kidding, Everlight. I only wanted to know your progress and, at the same time, see if you were the same Everlight I know. Stand up and donʼt kneel again… unless I require you to do so.”

”I understand.” Everlight stood up.

ʼNo, you donʼt understand when I said ʼunless I require you to kneelʼ…ʼ Davis had a lewd image in his mind but only displayed a wry smile outwardly.

Besides, he was telling the truth when he asked her if she was the same Everlight as he heard from the others that she had become arrogant. However, he was glad to see that it was not her character that had changed from adapting to this new body but merely an influence from her Emperor-Tier Bloodline, which was to be expected and normal.

The unaware Everlight smiled with innocence, ”Master, since you have entered the Immortal Stage, you must nurture your soul in my tail to the immortal level. Otherwise, when I resurrect you in case anything happens, you will still be a mortal.”

”Oh, then I should follow your advice.”

Davis nodded and neared her.

Everlight turned into a white fox with azure fur, looking exotic and sacred. Her tails raised up in a dance as they beautifully shook in the air as though stretching. However, Davis only saw seven tails instead of nine but knew where the other two went as she had used them on Freya and Katherine to improve their bloodline tier.

He also saw that many other soul essences were circling within the azure orb. They were the soul essences of his women, but not all of them had their souls imbued in Everlightʼs tail as some had not come out of seclusion while others had just exited.

”Master, I also apologize for using my tails without your permission. However, I found something worthwhile.”

Davis listened to Everlight reiterate the same thing Evelynn told him, but he reacted as though he had heard it for the first time. Hearing it from Everlightʼs own mouth, he came to have a better understanding.

”That is indeed excellent. However, donʼt misuse this power. It will have untoward consequences.”

”I understand. This power is too terrifying to be revealed, so thatʼs it. Iʼm done testing it.”

Everlight shivered as her tails shook. She knew what would happen if her abilities were revealed. Since she was weaker, then she would be made a slave in the worst-case scenario, but she also knew that she wouldʼve undergone a lot of torture to be made tame, especially to suppress her Emperor-Tier instincts.

Of course, she could choose to die, unwilling to receive humiliation like an Emperor-Tier Beast would but would her captors let her?

That was very unlikely. However, she didnʼt realize that Davis told her not to change many fates carelessly.

”But of course, if master needs this miraculous technique, Iʼll be happy to use it.”

Everlightʼs fox lips curved amusingly, causing Davis to use his hand to caress her fluffy fox tail as he nurtured his soul essence in the azure orb.

”Everlight, I need your help with extracting blood essence from Mira. Come with me.”

”Okay~”

Davis couldnʼt help but caress her more quickly reply. Judging by the tone of her voice, she seemed to be strangely giddy.

It took some time, but they were eventually done with revitalizing his soul to the immortal level.

Just as Davis was about to take his leave along with Everlight, her voice suddenly resounded.

”Master… can I sit on you?”

”…” Davis went blank for a moment before realization dawned on his face, ”Oh, you mean like Nadia.”

”Sure, why not? Youʼre not going to suddenly swipe your tail and behead me, are you?”

”Ah! How can I do that?”

Davis still had his brows squinted, ”After killing me, youʼre not going to revive and charm me, are you?”

”Master…” Everlight looked as though she was going to cry, ”I… I would rather die than… kill my… lo-”

”What did you say?”

Davis narrowed his brows, causing Everlight to jump as she retraced her words.

”I said… that… I would rather die than fail to repay my benefactor with gratitude a hundred times than what I had received.”

”Thatʼs my Everlight.”

Davis reached out his hand and caressed Everlightʼs head with a bit of fondness over her loyalty to him, causing her to tremble ever so lightly. But after two or three rubs, she secretly smiled and warmed up to him as she rubbed her head over his palm of her own will.

ʼGood… at least… sheʼs able to keep up with physical contact...ʼ

Davis was satisfied with Everlightʼs rate of body dissonance at this moment. It was significantly less, and he predicted that it would soon disappear, especially with more physical contact that wouldnʼt touch her virtuous nerves. Eventually, he imagined that Everlight could suppress her Emperor-Tier instincts and…

ʼThis is bad… Schleya and Everlight… maybe I wonʼt be able to hold myself back before marriage…?ʼ

Davis inwardly sucked in a cold breath.

At the same time, Esveleʼs voluptuous figure also flashed in his mind, but he quickly rejected her because she was Shirleyʼs junior sister and was mostly devoted to Shirley. She was like a firm follower of the Shirley faith, so there wasnʼt anything he could do about it as she had been of help so far in ways that he hadnʼt seen.

But with Yotan and Threelotus devotedly following him, he also understood that there was a kind of thrill in it, and he felt that a princess like Shirley would crave that devotion from someone even more.

With Everlight having turned tiny and jumping to his shoulder, he couldnʼt help but caress her small head once more in amusement and a positive outlook towards his life in the Aurora Cloud Gate before he appeared in another place.

”Lereza, whatʼs the treasure you have in store for me for crossing ten levels higher in battle prowess?”

”…!”

Everlight turned to look over Davis in shock with her tiny fox face and her two pupils that shone like emerald jewels.
