Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2482 Test Subjects

Evelynn explained the process of how Everlight ended up enhancing Freya and Katherineʼs bloodline.

Apparently, she did so in the form of wanting to test her powers as she had unlocked accurate information from her bloodline after becoming an immortal beast.

At first, Evelynn was worried that things would go wrong without Davisʼs being present but eventually relented as she also wanted to see how Everlight had improved in a short amount of time. The latter was no longer a mortal beast but an immortal beast.

Surely, her techniques wouldʼve also gotten stronger, no?

With that kind of thought process, even Isabella and Shirley joined in the fun. The former was waiting for Miraʼs blood to be extracted, and the latter was free after having entered the Immortal Stage. Carrying the blood and the souls of Fire Phoenix Mistress and Ice Phoenix Frostrose or Flamerose and Frostrose, also known as Mistress Zahara and Mistress Yeyin, her body and soul were empowered to make quick breakthroughs.

Nonetheless, Everlight started testing her second species techniqueʼs first level, Bloodline Impelling Evolution: Noble, on Katherine as the first test subject.

Naturally, Katherine was scared initially, but after putting Mira in front of her and goading her, they naturally made her agree.

Which magical beast wouldnʼt be tempted?

The result was that Katherine stepped into King-Tier after Everlight sacrificed one of her immortal tails that contained three azure orbs.

Evelynn and the others were satisfied with the result as Katherine easily became a King-Tier Beast without experiencing much pain as Mira did. At the very least, they could tell that Everlight had gotten sharper and more skillful in using this miraculous technique.

However, Everlight wasnʼt satisfied.

She demanded that she need another magical beast to prove the accuracy of her memories.

Evelynn and the others gawked at her demands. After Davis left, she was truly acting more and more like an Empress now. Then after Nadia entered the scene coolly, Everlightʼs expression changed before she apologized for getting ahead of herself.

However, the others knew that it was the influence of her regal bloodline. There was no way around it, and she had become an immortal, so she might naturally want to look down on mortals even more. For her to become close to them, she might have to spend more time with them as Nadia did,

In any case, the demand itself wasnʼt anything offensive, as Shirley agreed to bring Freya into the fray.

The result ended up shocking them all to the heavens after a world of worry.

Freya had entered the realm of Emperor-Tier! However, the technique was not without weaknesses. Freya had experienced a world of pain for two days straight! It was worse than Mira, who only endured the pain for five hours. Perhaps, it had to do with the concentration of bloodline as Miraʼs Earth Dragon Bloodline was pure as a jade while Freyaʼs Burning Phoenix Bloodline was already on the brink of regression as she was born in the declining Burning Phoenix Ridge.

Although the diluted blood essence of the Fire Phoenix Immortal had saved her bloodline a few more generations, it didnʼt repair the degradation itself. Perhaps, thatʼs why it took so long for Freya to enter the Emperor Tier.

However, Everlight stated that the fault also lay with her as she wasnʼt using nine orbs but only three orbs to make Freya an Emperor-Tier Beast. Furthermore, she revealed that as long as the recipient of the Bloodline Impelling Evolution technique was at a minor stage lower than her, the chances of making them an Emperor-Tier Beast by just using a single tail went above thirty percent from zero.

For each subsequent minor stage lower than her, the percentage would only go up by ten to twenty percent.

If three tails were used, it was practically a done deal as it was ninety-nine percent for anyone a minor stage lower than her.

Everlight thanked all of them for cooperating with her, but it was Shirley and the others who were grateful. Without doing anything, they got to witness the birth of a King-Tier Rumbling Earthtail Lion and an Emperor-Tier Burning Phoenix.

Their magnificent aura was shocking as they stood side by side. Even though their prowess wasnʼt high or comparable to them as magical beasts, they could be considered suppressed in the mortal realm as they didnʼt have access to a third cultivation system.

But in the immortal realm, they could truly reveal their potential as long as they could retain their bloodline tier.

”At first, Freya had fun flying around the palace. After the excitement died down, she appeared before us and said that she intended to give her blood to Sect Master Lea. However, she also imposed a condition on us and said that she would only bestow the blood essence if she could also grant Esvele her bloodline in the future.”

Evelynn wryly smiled, causing Davisʼs lips to twitch as the shock factor left his body.

He knew that Esvele and Freya were good friends, but he didnʼt think that they had become extremely close. However, considering that they had been together ever since Shirley came to him and became pregnant, he could understand Freyaʼs emotions.

Her blood was also not compatible with Shirley anymore.

However...

”These teenagers… do they think that extracting blood essence from oneʼs body is a joke?”

”I think Freya is imitating Mira, not wanting to lose out.”

Evelynn pursed her lips and smiled, causing Davis to raise his brows.

”Did they have a rivalry or something?”

”In places you havenʼt seen~” Evelynn giggled.

”…” Davis nodded and looked away.

However, Evelynn realized something as her expression fell.

”Ah, I didnʼt mean to be sarcastic.” She held his arm and crushed them underneath the weight of her voluptuous assets, appearing apologetic.

”Itʼs fine.” Davis smilingly waved his hand, ”You all miss a few episodes of mine, and I all miss a few episodes of my beauties. Itʼs balanced. Iʼm glad to be able to catch up, as I donʼt want to be irresponsible.”

”Davis~”

Evelynnʼs voice was full of yearning as she held him closer. She further explained some other minor events about the others and informed him of a peculiar matter.

Apparently, Schleya tried to go out to make her own earnings, but Evelynn somehow managed to convince her to stay, suggesting that it was more dangerous and they couldnʼt possibly allow her back inside due to contingencies.

Davis was surprised. Schleya cared about returning? He imagined that she was grateful to Mingzhi and perhaps him, not wanting to disappoint them in return as he knew Schleyaʼs character.

This made him prefer her more to the upcoming true disciple match setup. If she was willing to stay, then she wouldnʼt arbitrarily go anywhere while risking the safety of the group.

”Also…”

Evelynn smirked as she took three steps back and waved her hand. Instantly, a dark aura overwhelmed her. It was not poisonous but still ominous, causing Davis to blink as he figured that this aura was like…

”Corpses… cadaveric aura?”

”As expected of husband~”

Evelynn smiled deeply as the ghastly dark mist surrounding her became condensed into the shape of a human and hovered beside her. A ghastly pale woman of stunning beauty appeared, her grayish-purple hair floating around her while her white eyes looked at him with a weary gaze.

”That…” Davisʼs mouth parted, ”... is that Wisteria? The Entombed Darkfall Wisp you possessed??”

”Yes~” Evelynnʼs clear laughter sounded rather ominous amidst the cadaveric aura, ”After eating the dark-attributed resource Lereza gave her, Wisteria became a Dark Cadaveric Ghost Wisp thatʼs ranked second in the Emperor Grade Darkness Elemental Charts of the Grand Beginnings Continent. After her immortal tribulation, she successfully became a spirit and reached the Ninth Stage within two months by feeding on the darkness in my soul.”

”…”

Davis was flabbergasted as his eyes remained fixed on the skimpy-clothed, ghostly pale-skinned voluptuous beauty who looked at him as though she had amnesia or something.

More than her cadaveric aura, he was flabbergasted that she managed to evolve into a spirit that was ranked second from rank twelfth. Her power also couldnʼt be underestimated as he felt that she was at least three levels higher, not something achievable for a normal Dark Cadaveric Ghost Spirit.

He imagined that this increase in prowess was because of the source of darkness Wisteria absorbed. Evelynnʼs dark-attributed soul was strong due to her Supreme Immortal Sigil. Perhaps, it might be the reason why Wisteria was so strong without receiving any special resources.

”I have one more surprise, but I havenʼt perfected it enough to display it, so Iʼll reveal it to you the next time.” Evelynn giggled as she took back Wisteria with a wave of her hand.

”So secretive…”

Davis wryly smiled but saw Evelynn enjoy this as though she was a child displaying her achievements to her father and became satisfied.

However, he really felt complicated about this matter.

Evelynn was so conservative that she wouldnʼt be learning any poison or darkness-related Laws if it werenʼt for him. She had made many sacrifices to her psyche many times to be with him and was now even able to remain unfazed in the presence of a cadaveric aura, which rather felt like millions of insects running over his skin rather than striking him with sheer terror like death energy but both were chilling, to say the least.

He was deeply moved by her acceptance and determination, wanting to make love with her more and more and make her comfortable.

There was also the matter of Lereza.

She wouldnʼt say anything about the rewards to him or the conditions needed to fulfilling them but still gave them out.

However, one thing became clear.

ʼJudging by how Lereza acts, if I could categorize the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace, then it would also be an inheritance palace.ʼ

It was just... he couldnʼt have possibly inherited a palace directly belonging to the World Master, right?

Davis pursed his lips in trepidation, wondering if any restrictions would be placed on him later, like the other immortal inheritors being bound by duty to help the inheritance powers.
