Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2468 Taking Some, Leaving Some

Next, Davis saw the other Cyan Soul Rat scouts hidden within the crowd, trying to escape but noticing that many were going to be out of his grasp soon, he raised his hands, summoning bizarre deathly energy as they took shape into many outlines and clapped.

Hundreds of tiny hearts appeared between his palms, which he crushed without hesitation, causing numerous people to fall as their hearts were corrupted with death energy explosion within. Connected to their hearts was also a vague karmic thread that instantly corroded their soul, causing them to die with unwilling expressions on their faces.

It was a delayed demise, with them experiencing the body being infected by the ominous death energy and the pain that came with it.

Whomever Davis targeted, none managed to escape.

However, he saw that he ended up using fifty percent of his soul force in a short amount of time, causing him to feel somewhat lethargic and gasping for breath.

It was overkill as he shouldnʼt be using much energy against Level Seven Immortals. If it was Level Nine Immortals with prowess thatʼs higher by one level, then it would be fine.

But still, he wasnʼt disheartened as he was still practicing this unnamed technique as it was unrefined and took more energy than needed. With further improvement, he felt that he could even bring it to affect opponents with equal prowess as him.

At that time, this would truly be a terrifying technique in every sense, his very own karmic and death technique that he could use to kill his opponents from a distance. Although its range was still unknown, he didnʼt want to experiment with that at the moment, allowing his enemies to escape if he failed.

Nonetheless, with the slaughter came back his peace of mind, allowing him to understand better that continuing to remain here any longer was as good as committing suicide.

”Nadia, weʼre leaving.”

He was done with what he came here to do, teaching his enemies a lesson, telling them to their faces what would happen if they kept this attitude up other than establishing his identity. There was no need to remain anymore.

ʼHopefully, they didnʼt notice that there is no mortal world air emanating from my body...ʼ

Considering that they were too busy wanting to capture or kill him before wanting to escape after seeing his prowess, he doubted that they had the leisure to notice many strange aspects about him.

As he rose in the air, he absorbed the hundreds of soul essences of the fallen soldiers and scouts before they could enter the cycle of reincarnation. It formed ripples around him, causing him to frown, but he hid them with the death energy that encircled him into a pitch-black fog.

After that, he collected the unconscious traitors of the Grand Beginnings Continent into his life ring, wanting to take his time and inflict unbearable pain upon them.

”Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs scout, I appreciate your willingness to help, but I took care of the troubles at the moment, so Iʼll leave the matter of spreading what happened here to you at the moment.”

Davis turned and looked at the person who supported him.

The Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs scout was stunned beyond compare before he was shaken out of his reverie from hearing Davisʼs calm voice. He didnʼt move a single step nor raise a barrier as he had portrayed himself as an ally, and he really wasnʼt harmed.

Instead, he looked at the Imagery Stone he held in his hand before hurriedly nodding his head.

”Donʼt worry, Emperor of Death! Anyone with a brain could see that they were actually forcing you to give up your wives in exchange for your life, even though you were being reasonable. Not only you, but no honorable man would also accept this kind of humiliating proposition!”

So many people had Imagery Stones in their hands, but he had been chosen as the messenger. He couldnʼt help but feel that he did a massive service to his king, the Starlight Jade Wolf King, as he had successfully garnered the attention of a supreme genius!

”So you understand… tell the Starlight Jade Wolf King that if the opportunity presents later, I will come to his doorstep to give him my thanks.”

”Respected guest…”

The Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs scout became stunned. The Emperor of Death wasnʼt going to come with him to the Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs Prefecture, where it was safe than anywhere for him?

Davis only cast a smile as he liked the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan more and more with the attitude of this scout. He hoped that they could be allies in the future unless they started wanting Everlight after coming to know that she stepped into Emperor-Tier one day. Then he would really have to be disappointed even though it was understandable.

However, Everlight was a fox at this moment, making him inwardly laugh as to how they would react if they found out one day.

He also wondered if she was finally able to become one with her body, no longer feeling dissonance over her body and soul.

ʼWell, Iʼll know soon enough…ʼ

Nadia arrived before Davis after she collected around a thousand immortal bodies. Her two doppelgangers had fused with her body, allowing her to regain her look of having three tails.

Davis jumped and sat on her, and she directly cast her concealment ability, disappearing amidst the air of death that emanated around the West Ascendance Monument. They left hundreds of onlookers watching them disappear in shock, their lips still hanging apart that even flies could fly into their throats without meeting no resistance whatsoever.

”The fuck?”

Someone uttered, causing countless people to come out of their trance as they turned to look at each other in doubt.

How had they survived when two Level Three Immortal Kings ended up dead? What was going on?

*Whoosh!~~~*

At this moment, a giant thousand-meter-long white wolf appeared in the sky. Its body was transcendental and shined amidst the moonlight, appearing transcendent as a true immortal beast. However, it was a battle array formation just like the ones used by the army of immortals.

”Vice General Felix!”

Seeing the Starlight Jade Striking Formation, the scoutʼs expression lit up as he yelled in joy. Everyone elseʼs expression changed as they saw that the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan had actually sent a prominent, young, and rising Vice General to the scene.

Some of them knew that although Vice General Felix was also at Level Three Immortal King Beast Stage, he was as strong as a Level Four Immortal King Beast by himself. To have sent that kind of general, was the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan lost their minds? They were truly intent on protecting a Divergent!?

Vice General Felix surveyed the battlefield but failed to find someone who resembled Davis Alstreim, even though the scent of death energy remaining on the West Ascendance Monument startled him. However, he could that it wasnʼt from a human but a magical beast. Moreover, the aura of it smelled like a wolf?

Was that the rumored Empress Nadia he had heard about? However, how come she was so powerful? Shock reeled in his eyes before he turned to ask the scout.

”Whereʼs the Emperor of Death? Has he been taken away?”

”Vice General, he...” The scout became hesitant, unable to explain what had just happened. However, seeing the severity of the situation as Vice General Felixʼs expression became solemn, he coughed up whatever he could make sense of the situation.

”The Emperor of Death summoned a death-attributed wolf out of nowhere and killed the Vice Generals of the Earth Dragon Clan and the Fire Phoenix Clan before-”

”What…!?”

Vice General Felix, along with his captains and soldiers, became shocked before the scout continued explaining.

”I mean, the Emperor of Death successfully retreated from imminent danger after slaughtering his enemies here and the divisions with his death-attributed wolf.”

”… You mean to say that he didnʼt need our help?”

”…”

The scout simply smiled before he awkwardly nodded, causing Vice General Felix to become stumped.

”…”

All that remained was silence as the Vice General of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan also joined the dumbfounded group of people.

They had seen heavenly geniuses capable of crossing five levels and even six levels. The latter was truly the top of the cream. However, this… this had completely flipped their view on the world.

For the Emperor of Death to be capable of beating the Level Seven Immortals who had been garrisoned here for a month, his prowess would have to be seven levels higher!

However, little did they know that they were short by… three levels to his ultimate prowess!
