Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2458 True Disciple

Davis gazed at Niel Bladeheartʼs sincere admission of defeat.

This sword cultivator in front of him went almost seven levels higher in prowess, from Level One Immortal Stage to the foot of Level Eight Immortal Stage. That was a feat even stronger than a heavenly genius.

The sword lightʼs pressure was immense and capable of harming his flesh if he let it pass through because of its tyrannical properties. However, that was only if he possessed no guard. If he even circulated a bit of chaotic energy through his body, it was impossible for the sword light to harm him.

After all, his base prowess was eight levels higher, but with Imposing Sword Laws and other uniqueness, Niel Bladeheart could only reach the foot seven levels higher. The two of them werenʼt on the same level even with their same cultivation base.

It was only with Imposing Sword Laws, a Phyletic Law, that Niel Bladeheart managed to impress Davis beyond compare, as he felt that it was capable of harming his chaotic tempered body if they were at the same prowess.

At least, that was the searing feeling he got from the other party.

”If I guessed rightly, your Imposing Sword Laws has reached Level One Obscure Intent. Isnʼt that right?”

Niel Bladeheart couldnʼt help but smile wryly, ”Senior brother Feng Chu is right.”

Imposing Sword Laws? Obscure Intent?

Many immortal disciples had confused expressions on their faces, having no idea about Phyletic Laws, but a few core disciples made shocked expressions, proceeding to use this chance to explain and enlighten the crowd about those mysterious power.

”Sigh…” Niel Bladeheart raised his hand to his back and sheathed the sword back over his shoulder, ”I thought I was unbeatable with my recent breakthrough, but to think that I didnʼt even make you bat an eye. This is really… overwhelming...”

Davis nodded.

ʼNo wonder… how can the top thirty be all as strong as him...ʼ

With Niel Bladeheartʼs recent breakthrough, Davis felt that he was at least qualified to enter the top fifteen because he still didnʼt know what kind of monsters were there in the Aurora Cloud Gate.

However, if Niel Bladeheartʼs Imposing Sword Laws were at Level Two Intent like his Level Two Heart Intent, then his attack may very well reach the peak of seven levels higher, perhaps even eight levels higher.

At that time, he could finally be called a monster, but even that wasnʼt enough to match him.

Davis couldnʼt help but smile. Having an opponent like this truly made him appreciate the hard work that he put into his cultivation, afraid that it wouldnʼt prove to be useful in the future. After all, it was Myria who was a monster with her soul physique. She was the only one who made him feel that he still wasnʼt strong enough.

Still, with this encounter, he felt all the wait to enter the Immortal Stage was worth it.

”As expected. Sword cultivators truly have sharp eyes. Junior brother Nielʼs sword light is capable of immense destruction. With how fast it is, I wouldnʼt want to be anywhere near you lest I find my head chopped off from my body without even knowing how...”

”Aha. Senior brother sure is capable of joking around. No wonder you went ahead and acted arrogant. See, it attracted some true disciples out of their seclusion...”

Davis turned to look at the crowd and spotted four three-colored emblem disciples. They possessed complicated gazes as they looked at him, causing Davis to cup his hands towards them.

”Thanks for coming but truly… thatʼs all I have for today. I have important matters to take care of, so please excuse me.”

”…”

The crowd was amazed. One could be this shameless? It was as though he was giving out money to them and didnʼt have any more to give.

On the other hand, the true disciples felt their expressions twitch

They couldnʼt even match Niel Bladeheart in prowess, so how were they supposed to match Feng Chu who was still relaxed? Besides, they had a higher cultivation base, so even if they suppressed their cultivations, it wouldnʼt be a fair match to say.

If they lost, their faces would be dragged to the mud big time. They didnʼt dare challenge him. Besides, he also said that he had to leave. Even if they wanted to challenge him, they couldnʼt stop him other than provoke him into accepting the challenge.

Those were the rules of the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Proving Grounds.

But at this moment, they saw a white-haired woman appearing on the battle stage. Her presence instantly left everyone breathless, her countenance lighting up everyoneʼs hearts and hastening their breathing.

Davis chuckled at her and turned around, jumping off from the platform as he returned to Zora Luan, appearing in front of her.

”Senior sister Zora, where should I go report my victories?”

Zora Luan seemed to be staring into space. Even after Davis arrived and asked, she just mechanically raised her hand and pointed in a direction.

”There… that deacon… will take care of your matters.”

”…”

Seeing his senior sister remain half-dead in soul, Davis pursed his lips, wanting to say something, but shaking his head, he turned to look over at the battle stage and saw Myria challenging Niel Bladeheart before the latter accepted the challenge.

He knew why because she was still unranked and didnʼt appear on the ranking boards.

Instantly, they started the battle.

But before Niel Bladeheart could even make a move, Myria locked him in place with space and earth. Gravity and spatial lock both constricted not only his body but his very soul, causing him to be unable to move. Within a second, she appeared in front of him, appearing like she was going to shove a blade into his forehead as a light blade emerged out of her finger.

”I admit defeat!”

A panicked voice rang out as Myriaʼs hand came to a stop.

Davis watched all this with a blatant smile on his face as he arrived before that deacon who sat on a chair, seemingly enjoying the show with his mouth agape.

”Promotion Deacon. Whereʼs my promotion?”

”Give me your badge.” The promotion deacon was too stunned to reply that he mechanically gestured with his hand. Only after he turned to look at Davis did his eyes go wide.

”Itʼs you. Who are you two? Ah, anyways, Iʼm not here to probe.”

He quickly took the status plate from Davis and placed it on a formation, and closed his eyes, working on it.

Davis couldnʼt understand the workings of the formation, so he returned his gaze to the battle stage to see Myria returning, but Ellia had replaced her. She also challenged Niel Bladeheart, causing the other partyʼs lips to twitch.

Even though Ellia had disguised her emblem, he didnʼt underestimate her at all, taking a sword pose in an instant as he readied himself.

Elliaʼs expression was solemn. She knew she wouldnʼt be able to beat him but still challenged him.

As soon as the battle started, Niel Bladeheart quickly took action and launched the Third Step of his sword technique at Ellia. The heaven and earth energy trembled under the wake of his sword light and directly blasted through Elliaʼs defense.

*Puchi!~*

Elliaʼs expression changed as she felt her body become weightless.

ʼWhat!?ʼ

Niel Bladeheartʼs heart skipped a beat as he saw crimson blood paint the battle arena as his sword attack sliced her into two after penetrating her light barrier.

”How dare you hurt her!?”

”Die!”

Two enraged voices echoed from outside the battle stage when two figures appeared around him. They were none other than Feng Chu and Myria, causing his scalp to turn numb.

”Wait, this is a misunderstanding…!”

Niel Bladeheart hadnʼt expected to overestimate Ellia. She looked the same as Myria just from her eyes, causing him to truly treat her as a true opponent, but for him to slice and kill her, he really didnʼt mean that to happen.

Although accidental deaths do happen, and he wouldnʼt be held to blame for it, the others related were free to take revenge on him on the spot! Besides, there were many witnesses!

Gravity surged on top of him and pressed him as though thousands of mountains were on his shoulders. Spatial lock kept him stopped in place, disallowing him to move a finger. As the threatening black-crimson flames and lightning appeared before his eyes, he knew that it was too late to stop.

”Goldsky Slicer!”

The golden sword he held instantly had its cultivation base unsealed as a talisman placed on its hilt dissipated and unveiled a Level One Immortal King sword undulations, causing countless jaws to drop.

The sword emitted a radiant light that instantly destroyed Feng Chu and Myria.

But after the light faded, Niel Bladeheart became stunned to witness the scene before him.

The ghost of a white-robed, black-haired woman giggled in front of him. However, realization dawned on him as he turned to look at the shocked crowd and noticed that Myria and Feng Chu were still down there.

The Goldsky Slicer sword didnʼt murder Feng Chu and Myria but destroyed an illusion.

”I apologize. I know Iʼm not strong enough to defeat you, but I was able to take advantage of the seed of doubt left by my people. I cast an illusion on you, and you unsealed your sword to break it, so itʼs my win, right?”

Elliaʼs black eyes flashed with a playful light as she raised her brows.

”This…”

Niel Bladeheartʼs cheeks produced a bright blush, unable to believe that he had been caught by an illusion cast by a person with lower prowess than him, while Davis shook his head, chuckling at Elliaʼs clever usage of Illusion Laws.

She was able to use their weight that defeated Niel Bladeheart to her advantage and subsequently become ranked like Myria!
