Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Obito’s Madness

Chapter 441: Obito’s Madness

Looking at the shy Rin Nohara and the calm Amamiya Kenichi in front of him, Obito felt as if his mind was about to collapse.

He wanted to rush out, grab Kenichi by the collar, beat him half to death, and question him.

What had this bastard done to make Rin look at him like that?

However, the moment he saw Rin, Obito forced himself to endure it.

The price was that the wall in front of him completely collapsed under his hand.

Obito breathed heavily, almost unable to suppress the emotions surging inside him. He desperately wanted to kill Kenichi. Even though Kenichi had revived Rin, Obito still wanted to get rid of that scoundrel.

”Mr. Amamiya, you...” Rin glanced at Kenichi.

For some reason, she felt that the boy in front of her seemed taller than before. His handsome features made her fall into a brief daze.

What is wrong with me?

Rin was a little bewildered.

”I was handling official business, Rin. Your noodles are about to burn, aren’t they?” Kenichi raised the folder in his hand and smiled at her.

Rin panicked at once and rushed back into her room.

A moment later, the faint burning smell finally disappeared.

Rin looked a little embarrassed.

She clearly had not expected Kenichi to guess her intention.

But to Kenichi, this was not strange.

Living under Orochimaru’s wing for so long had already forced him to develop the ability to read people and adapt to circumstances. Before he became strong, he had possessed enough humility and insight to survive.

Once he became stronger, others would need to have enough insight when facing him.

Even so, Kenichi did not mind showing care toward others when appropriate.

Appropriate care could narrow the distance between people, and might even make others willing to die for him.

So Kenichi could naturally tell that Rin had something she wanted to ask of him.

Otherwise, Rin probably would not have felt comfortable enough to invite him in.

”Mr. Amamiya, would you like to eat together?” Rin asked.

The girl had gone to tidy up the almost burned noodles, also using the opportunity to calm her current mood.

Now she looked at Kenichi, who was still outside the door, and extended an invitation.

Kenichi paused for a moment, then nodded with a smile and followed Rin into her room.

He sat down on a soft cushion and looked around curiously.

Rin had decorated her home with a very girlish feel.

But what caught Kenichi’s attention most was a photo frame.

Inside the frame was not a photo.

It was a simple stick figure drawing of a girl and two boys.

Kenichi immediately recognized them.

Rin had drawn Obito, Kakashi, and herself.

The ninja squad once led by Minato Namikaze.

Although Rin had been resurrected, her belongings had clearly not been restored along with her. The original team photo was gone, so Rin could only rely on her memories to draw the scene from back then.

Looking at Kakashi’s smug expression in the stick figure drawing, a smile flashed in Kenichi’s eyes.

Kakashi had always been that smug since childhood.

But was that also related to his father’s death?

If Kakashi’s father had never died, what kind of person would Kakashi have become?

”Tsk, tsk. The Third Hokage and Danzo Shimura truly were heinous criminals,” Kenichi thought, shaking his head inwardly.

The death of Konoha’s White Fang was inextricably linked to those two.

They really should thank Kakashi.

Kakashi had grown up and had not betrayed the village.

At that moment, Rin came out of the room carrying bowls and chopsticks.

She had made a bowl of ramen for Kenichi.

Kenichi accepted it and immediately recognized it as tonkotsu ramen.

There was not much meat on top, but it was very carefully arranged.

At the dining table, Rin chatted with Kenichi.

Kenichi’s hearty laughter even carried out of the room and into Obito’s ears.

Obito furiously gripped the rockery in front of him, gritting his teeth.

He swore that if Kenichi dared to make any improper move, he would rush in immediately.

Moreover, Rin’s behavior today was far too strange.

Previously, every time Rin saw him, she would become very awkward and a little shy, even deliberately avoiding him.

But today, Rin had invited him to eat ramen.

Ramen she had made herself.

The room gradually fell silent.

That silence made Obito feel uneasy.

Who did Rin like?

This was a question Obito could not confirm.

Back when he was still part of the team, he had directly expressed his special feelings for Rin.

However, Rin’s feelings toward him had always been a little blurry to Obito.

He always felt that Rin seemed to like him.

But Rin also cared about Kakashi.

This had once made Obito see Kakashi as both his best friend and his rival.

Even after learning that Rin had died by Kakashi’s hand, Obito had never thought of killing Kakashi.

That was precisely because of his complicated feelings for Kakashi, and because he feared that if Kakashi died, Kakashi would go to the Pure Land and take Rin away from him.

”Rin, is there something you want to tell me?” Kenichi put down his empty ramen bowl and looked at Rin with a smile.

Looking at Rin’s flustered expression, Kenichi wore a gentle look, like someone deeply moved.

He knew that Obito, that bastard, had to be nearby.

After all, Obito might fail to find anyone else, but he would definitely find Rin at all costs.

Whether Uchiha Obito was currently lurking and writhing in some dark corner was hard to say.

But judging by Rin’s expression, it might be difficult to deliver a full blow to Obito right now.

The only good news was probably that Obito did not yet have the courage to forcibly take Rin away.

”That...” Rin lowered her head.

She was embarrassed to speak.

No matter how she thought about it, this matter seemed a little too much.

Even she herself felt that it was too much.

But after thinking about it, Rin still suppressed the shame in her heart, lowered her head, and took a deep breath.

”Mr. Amamiya, could I trouble you... to revive Obito?”

Rin bit her lower lip, her hands tightly gripping her pants.

At that moment, the air seemed to fall silent.

Rin could even hear the wind outside and the sound of stones falling into the water.

At that moment, Obito’s heart began beating unusually fast.

Obito was stunned.

He had never expected that Rin had invited Kenichi to eat for this purpose.

To revive him?

But thinking about it, Uchiha Obito had indeed ”died” in that battle.

Rin and Kakashi both believed that.

But who knew that after he crawled out of hell, the first thing he would see was Rin’s death?

He had not even been given the chance to say goodbye to her.

But Kenichi would not be able to revive him even if he wanted to, right?

After all, he was not dead.

How could a living person be revived?

”Rin, you...” Kenichi’s voice carried a hint of hesitation and pain.

Obito felt a little bewildered.

Was reviving him that difficult?

”Is it Uchiha Obito? I remember Kakashi saying that you, Obito, and Kakashi were members of the same squad,” Kenichi asked calmly.

Rin subconsciously nodded.

”No, no. Obito is my... very good friend. But he was buried under rocks back then, so I couldn’t find his remains,” Rin quickly explained.

For some reason, facing Kenichi like this made her feel more and more as though she was letting down his feelings for her.

Obito’s eyes widened.

Very good friend?

Although there was nothing wrong with Rin saying that, after all, she and Rin had never defined their relationship, and Rin and Kakashi were also very good friends, hearing that phrase still made Obito uncomfortable.

”Do you like Obito?” Kenichi asked with a pained expression.

Rin trembled all over.

Obito no longer bothered leaning against the tree.

He suddenly moved closer to the room, hiding above it while doing his best to suppress his presence and aura, listening carefully.

”I...” Rin looked up at Kenichi.

She saw the pain on Kenichi’s face and the complexity in his eyes.

She recalled the results of her investigation during this period, as well as their previous conversations.

Rin did not know how she should face someone as devoted as Kenichi.

Obito looked up at the sky.

At some point, the dark clouds had scattered.

The sky had become clear.

His eyes were slightly red.

Rin would want to revive me, and...

Obito suddenly began to laugh.

He laughed silently, but he was indeed laughing.

Knowing that Rin still thought of him made Obito’s mood instantly become pleasant.

”I understand, Rin. If you’re so conflicted, then don’t say it for now. But do you have Obito’s body tissue? If not, it’s impossible to perform the resurrection Ninjutsu,” Kenichi interrupted her.

He could see that Rin was very conflicted.

”Then there’s nothing to be done.”

Kenichi’s voice sounded somewhat apologetic.

Obito gritted his teeth in hatred.

What in the world did Kenichi want to do?

Would he do something to Rin...

Just as Obito thought of that, he heard a strange sound.

”Mr. Amamiya, you...” Rin’s voice was full of shock.

What did this bastard do?

He actually hugged Rin?!

”Just one hug, Rin. Just one,” Kenichi said gently.

Obito had never heard this bastard speak in such a gentle voice before.

It disgusted him.

But more than disgust, what he felt now was fury.

If Obito had such courage, that would indeed be troublesome.

When facing his teacher and his teacher’s wife, Obito had been ruthless.

But when it came to Rin, he was still that shy and timid boy.

For Kenichi, this was a good thing.

With a loud boom, Kenichi turned his head.

He did not look at the girl in his arms, whose body had initially been stiff but had now softened.

Instead, he looked toward the center of the city.

There, a white wooden spike shot into the sky.

Kenichi knew that someone had become exasperated.

Someone had become anxious.

Tsk, tsk.

What a pity.

If he had not been worried about damaging his image in Rin’s mind by bringing her along, Kenichi would have wanted to take Rin to the battlefield.

With Rin present, fighting Obito would be incredibly easy. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Obito would definitely be restrained.

But that was also very normal.

Although Kenichi had intentionally increased his importance in Rin’s heart, it was indeed not easy to move Rin completely in such a short time.

”How dare they attack here? Rin, quickly hide!” Kenichi said with concern.

Although he knew Rin would definitely be fine and that Obito would never hurt her, he still needed to protect Rin.

He had to prevent Obito from acting recklessly and trying to take her away.

After instructing Uchiha Shiori to protect Rin and take her somewhere safe, Kenichi rushed out.

Although provoking Obito had been his original intention, allowing Obito to cause trouble in the city was unacceptable.

The capital of the Land of Water was still a ruin waiting to be rebuilt, and Kenichi had too many things to deal with.

He truly did not have time to manage another reconstruction of the capital.

It would be best to move the battlefield before Obito caused too much damage.

Obito could no longer hold back.

He wished he could rush in and kill Kenichi right now.

But remembering that Rin was inside, Obito still rushed toward the capital, toward the center of the city.

At the same time, outside the Land of Water, Jiraiya stood in an airship and watched a distant airship quickly depart, feeling a little curious.

”What happened?”

Just now, he had still been thinking about how to sneak into the Land of Water without alerting the guards.

Unexpectedly, the guards left in a flash, giving him an opening.

However, this also made Jiraiya wonder if it was a trap.

If it were anyone else, Jiraiya would not be so cautious.

But the opponent was Amamiya Kenichi.

That made Jiraiya have to be careful.

Underestimating Kenichi could lead to death.

”Forget it. I’ll enter Sage Mode first...”

Jiraiya began gathering natural energy.

He wanted to ensure that he could enter the Land of Water in his strongest state to face Kenichi.

However, thinking of his previous bet with Tsunade, Jiraiya’s eyes grew slightly dazed.

He had bet with Tsunade on whether he could return to Konoha alive.

Tsunade had won.

And Tsunade had never won before.

When Tsunade won, some major event was sure to happen.

So...

Jiraiya smiled.

It did not matter.

Even if Tsunade won, would he really hide because of that?

Could the hatred for the old man, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and the hatred for so many Konoha casualties, simply be set aside?

The Will of Fire, old man.

I will carry it forward.
