Chapter 407: War is an Intelligence War

”Susanoo?”

Amamiya Kenichi stared at the golden skeletal giant before him, momentarily stunned.

He had not expected Hikari to have mastered Susanoo as well. But after recalling Hikari’s miraculous Mangekyo abilities and the experiments she had undergone, Amamiya Kenichi realized it was not that strange after all.

”Hikari, you’re amazing.”

Amamiya Kenichi was still a little confused as to why Hikari had suddenly used Susanoo in front of him, but he praised her anyway.

Immediately afterward, Hikari canceled Susanoo and trotted over to him, gently tugging at his clothes.

”Big Brother Amamiya, is there anything I can help with?” Hikari looked up at him expectantly.

Only then did Amamiya Kenichi understand why Hikari had used Susanoo.

This clever little girl had clearly sensed the smell of war and wanted to help him. To prove that she could truly be useful instead of becoming a burden, she had deliberately used Susanoo to show her strength.

Amamiya Kenichi felt a little touched. He looked at Hikari, and the obvious dependence in her eyes showed him just how deep her feelings for him truly were.

”No need, Hikari. I can still handle the current situation,” Amamiya Kenichi said with a chuckle, ruffling her hair.

Although Hikari’s desire to help him was touching, her abilities were far too special.

Amamiya Kenichi would not send Hikari to the battlefield, nor would he let her carry out any dangerous missions.

Hikari lowered her head in disappointment, looking visibly dejected.

She truly wanted to help him.

”Hikari, your ability is incredibly powerful and useful. It can bring a huge revolution to this world. That’s why I don’t want you on the battlefield, understand? Your ability should be used to benefit the Ninja World,” Amamiya Kenichi said, looking at the dejected Hikari. Then he smiled and pinched her cheek.

Hikari looked up in surprise, her large watery eyes fixed on Amamiya Kenichi, as if silently asking whether what he had said was really true.

”Of course it’s true. Don’t worry. Later, you’ll understand what your ability truly means,” Amamiya Kenichi said, patting his chest with great confidence.

Throughout human history, the invention of the steam engine during the First Industrial Revolution had deeply changed the world’s structure, allowing certain nations to rise into world-renowned powers.

In modern times, the internet era had become a new symbol.

The appearance of the internet made the entire world even stranger, connecting every country together.

The information explosion began.

Without leaving their homes, people could buy goods from foreign countries and browse knowledge they would never normally have encountered. The information explosion also nurtured more academic fields and gave birth to more scientists.

Therefore, to Amamiya Kenichi, if the Ninja World’s current technology wanted to achieve a revolutionary leap, the internet era was essential.

And to open the door to the internet era, Hikari was the key.

”Mm!” Hikari happily narrowed her eyes.

She believed her brother would not lie to her, and her mood improved greatly.

After Hikari stopped obsessing over going to the battlefield to help him, Amamiya Kenichi took her to a barbecue restaurant in the capital for lunch. Afterward, he sent Hikari back home before returning to his laboratory to continue assembling the atomic bomb.

He needed to complete the second atomic bomb before the combined forces of the Four Great Ninja Villages attacked him.

With a second atomic bomb, Amamiya Kenichi would have more options. He could also show those people from the Four Great Ninja Villages the cutting-edge weapons of the technological side.

Given the current technological level of the Ninja World, excluding Kumogakure’s unverified Moon Cannon, Amamiya Kenichi felt that his atomic bomb was unmatched.

One blast would be difficult for even a Tailed Beast to withstand.

And if it could withstand one?

Then there was still the hydrogen bomb.

Even if he faced the Ten-Tails, Amamiya Kenichi had his own countermeasure.

Perhaps the Tsar Hydrogen Bomb?

Against a hydrogen bomb capable of shaking continents, the Ten-Tails would likely struggle as well.

Of course, Kaguya was an exception. She could simply retreat into another dimension and avoid the destructive effects of the Tsar Hydrogen Bomb.

However, whether Kaguya could be successfully unsealed was still another question.

At the very least, before the Three-Tails revived, Amamiya Kenichi did not need to worry about Kaguya at all.

”Lord Amamiya, Lord Minato Namikaze has returned,” Uchiha Shiori said after knocking on the door.

Hearing this, Amamiya Kenichi had no choice but to temporarily abandon the idea of continuing to assemble the atomic bomb.

After leaving a Shadow Clone behind to assist with the work, Amamiya Kenichi walked out.

The matter of where the Ninja from the other three Villages would gather in the Land of Fire before attacking the Land of Water still needed to be discussed with Minato.

”If only I had satellites, it wouldn’t be this troublesome,” Amamiya Kenichi sighed.

In the Ninja World, gathering intelligence still relied mainly on people.

If there were satellites, all the secrets of the Ninja World would no longer be secrets.

However, Amamiya Kenichi felt that creating satellites in the current Ninja World, where the technology tree had become increasingly bizarre, would probably be an extremely torturous problem.

”Amamiya, is there something urgent you needed me for?” Minato looked the same as ever, but the smile on his face had grown much brighter.

It seemed returning to see Naruto and Kushina had healed Minato’s heart.

”Big Brother Minato, I wanted to ask you something. If you were Hokage, and allied Ninja forces from the other three countries intended to attack us, where would you choose to let them make camp?” Amamiya Kenichi asked humbly.

After all, Minato had served as Hokage. Although his time as Hokage had not been long, he should still have some personal experience to offer.

”Allied Ninja forces from three countries?” Minato froze.

During this period, he had been living a happy and fulfilling family life with Kushina and Naruto.

Everything had been fine, except for the helplessness he felt every night when facing Kushina’s watery eyes.

So Minato truly did not know much about what had been happening in the Ninja World recently.

Fortunately, Amamiya Kenichi already knew this. After his explanation, Minato understood the situation.

Minato frowned, looking at the map Amamiya Kenichi had spread out.

This map showed the Land of Water, but it also included part of the Land of Fire’s territory.

However, there were no detailed markings on the Land of Fire side, only basic information about mountains and towns.

This information had been gathered when the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had previously carried out missions in the Land of Fire, and whether it had changed since then was unknown.

”Logically speaking, this place called Haibo Town is the most suitable encampment site. It’s the closest, and the conditions for going out to sea are also good. There aren’t many undercurrents or reefs,” Minato said, studying the map before pointing at one location.

As the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, Minato naturally had some understanding of the Land of Fire.

After all, as a Kage, it would be absurd if he did not understand his own country and Village.

And Haibo Town was the closest place in the Land of Fire to the Land of Water. It was also the most suitable place to launch a sea crossing.

”However, from a military perspective, they would generally choose this location instead. It’s relatively more concealed, and it was also a bridgehead Konoha once prepared for attacking the Land of Water.” Minato’s finger slid to another spot, an inconspicuous blind corner on the map.

Amamiya Kenichi looked at it.

According to the topographical map, it seemed to be a cliff.

”Actually, Konoha has always had war plans against the other countries. Back then, the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, believed that if Konoha wanted to attack another country, the first target would definitely be the Land of Water. So he personally oversaw the construction of a hidden base there,” Minato explained after seeing Amamiya Kenichi’s confusion.

Amamiya Kenichi understood.

It seemed Konoha was not a pushover.

Or rather, the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, had never been one.

His political skill was excellent, and his military vision was outstanding as well.

Of course, if Amamiya Kenichi were Hokage, he would also choose the Land of Water as the first place to attack without hesitation, because it was concealed enough.

”I see.” Amamiya Kenichi nodded.

He felt that he could investigate those two locations based on Minato’s suggestion.

”However, I think you could use Edo Tensei on Danzo Shimura and ask him,” Minato added.

Although he had been Hokage, he had too many matters to deal with every day, and there were some things he had never fully understood.

Danzo Shimura was different.

As a member of Konoha’s Elder Council, Danzo knew many things.

Even Root, during Minato’s time as Hokage, had remained a relatively independent intelligence agency.

It was hard to say whether Root knew additional information.

Amamiya Kenichi felt Minato’s words made sense, so he used Edo Tensei to summon Danzo Shimura.

”What do you want with this old man?” Danzo opened his eyes, looked around, and asked.

He knew Amamiya Kenichi’s attitude toward him was not friendly. Unless it was for something special, he probably would not have been summoned.

”I want to ask...” Amamiya Kenichi repeated the question he had asked Minato earlier.

Danzo narrowed his eyes after hearing it.

He curiously surveyed his surroundings, then looked at Amamiya Kenichi in surprise.

”This old man thought you were only dreaming before. I didn’t expect you to actually take down Hidden Mist Village and the Land of Water.” Danzo sighed, looking at Amamiya Kenichi while feeling some regret.

He regretted that when he had still been in Konoha, he had not forcefully taken Amamiya Kenichi under his command and made him serve him.

Such a talented ninja with full execution ability had been wasted under Orochimaru.

Amamiya Kenichi shrugged noncommittally.

Frankly, even he had not expected the atomic bomb’s power to be that astonishing.

If it had not directly annihilated Hidden Mist Village and allowed some of its people to escape, he would probably still be hunting those ninja down now.

Fortunately, Mei Terumi was still outside.

Amamiya Kenichi was very interested in a special genius ninja like Mei Terumi. He wanted to study her genes and see how they differed from those of other ninja.

”The Daimyo of the Four Great Nations have indeed formed an alliance. Hmph. I told Hiruzen before that those Daimyo were not the type to simply sit still and wait for death. If we had controlled them, there wouldn’t be so much trouble,” Danzo sighed again.

Amamiya Kenichi’s mouth twitched.

This old man really could talk.

”However, I do have some thoughts on your question.” Danzo picked up the map on the table.

He glanced at it and immediately recognized it as a map of the Land of Water.

Seeing this, he sneered.

”Heh. The Land of Water’s ambitions never died.” Danzo licked his lips.

He naturally understood the meaning behind the Land of Water drawing this map.

Wasn’t it because they hoped to attack the Land of Fire in the future and seize vast territories?

”If it were me, I would have the allied Ninja forces make camp here.” Danzo placed his hand on one location.

Amamiya Kenichi glanced at it.

It was different from the two places Minato had mentioned, and it was even farther from the Land of Water.

”What month is it now?” Danzo asked.

”Now? March,” Amamiya Kenichi answered directly.

He did not know why Danzo was asking this.

”Then it’s here,” Danzo said with certainty.

Amamiya Kenichi looked at Minato, but Minato seemed unaware of the inside story.

”In March, the southeast winds are common, and strong winds are frequent. The normal locations near the Land of Water will definitely be thoroughly investigated by you. Don’t treat Nara Shikaku like a fool. As for this location, if they use the wind, they can easily reach the Land of Water, and their landing point will not be easy to detect,” Danzo explained calmly.

Amamiya Kenichi nodded after hearing this.

If that was the case, then it was indeed possible.

However, Amamiya Kenichi still planned to investigate all three locations and confirm where the allied Ninja forces were actually encamped.

That would be safer.

Having obtained the intelligence, Amamiya Kenichi intended to send Danzo back to the Pure Land.

The other party was of no further use to him, and keeping him around could easily cause conflict between him and Nagato.

”I want to ask one thing. Who is Hokage in Konoha now? What happened to my Root?” Danzo also understood Amamiya Kenichi’s intention and asked.

Amamiya Kenichi raised an eyebrow.

However, considering Danzo’s contribution just now, he still answered.

After hearing that Hiruzen Sarutobi had retired and Tsunade had taken over as Hokage, Danzo remained expressionless.

That was within his expectations.

When Tsunade returned, he already knew he had no chance.

But after hearing that Hiruzen Sarutobi had taken over as Root’s leader, Danzo suddenly burst into mad laughter.

His laughter only faded into the air after he returned to the Pure Land.
