Chapter 429: Obito’s Fury

”...Do you think you’re worthy of my daughter?!”

An angry, somewhat familiar voice interrupted Kakashi who is walking.

Puzzled, he walked toward the sound.

That voice was very familiar.

The closer he got, the clearer the owner of that voice became in his mind.

Rin’s parents.

Kakashi’s steps grew faster.

Ever since Rin died by his hand, Kakashi had visited her parents. The money he saved from missions would also be sent to them.

But clearly, the pain of losing their daughter still left Rin’s parents often immersed in grief and anger.

Even so, Rin’s parents had never hated Kakashi.

Even after Kakashi told them that Rin had died by his hand, they never blamed him as a murderer.

They saw everything Kakashi did.

Kakashi often visited them, bringing food, daily necessities, and of course, more money.

They also never asked him for help.

They did not want to torment another person with their daughter’s death, especially when that person had been their daughter’s good friend.

Because Kakashi often visited Rin’s parents, he naturally recognized their voices.

When Kakashi pushed through the crowd and walked over, he discovered that the place surrounded by people was a general store. However, because it sold adult products, it had been designated as an adults-only general store.

At this moment, Rin’s parents were arguing emotionally with the owner.

”What happened?” Kakashi walked over.

His forehead protector and extremely conspicuous silver-white hair allowed the people present to recognize him immediately. Several people quickly made way, and Rin’s parents also saw Kakashi, who was frowning.

”Kakashi! You came at just the right time. Quickly deal with this beast! What kind of things did he sell?!”

Rin’s parents were not very old, but the pain of losing their daughter had made them look older than their true age. White hair and wrinkles were already clearly visible.

Kakashi supported Rin’s mother, who looked as if she was about to faint from crying, then turned his gaze toward the sweating store owner.

”This... Ninja-sama, this really isn’t my fault. You know I’m just a businessman. I can’t possibly know what every ninja looks like.” When the owner saw Kakashi, even more sweat appeared on his forehead. He wiped his brow again and again.

It’s over.

These two old people seem to know this ninja.

The owner sighed inwardly.

It seemed this matter could not be settled peacefully today.

Offending a ninja and offending an ordinary person were two completely different things.

”What exactly happened?” Kakashi asked again.

Rin’s parents were still crying, but they seemed unwilling to talk about it. That made Kakashi even more confused, until the constantly sweating owner led him into the general store.

The moment Kakashi entered, he froze.

A lifelike replica stood before him with its hands placed behind its back and a faint innocent smile on its face. Although it was not wearing a ninja forehead protector and had instead been dressed in inappropriate adult-store clothing, Kakashi recognized who it resembled at a glance.

Rin Nohara.

”Rin... Rin, you...”

In an instant, countless emotions surged into his heart.

Kakashi instinctively rushed to Rin’s side and pressed both hands firmly on her shoulders. The touch felt almost indistinguishable from a real person.

But Rin only continued to smile.

Her eyes seemed to be looking at Kakashi.

Only now did Kakashi realize something was wrong.

Rin was dead.

Kakashi was completely certain of that.

After all, he had personally pierced Rin’s body. He had watched her die with a smile in front of him. He had attended her funeral.

If that was the case, then why would Rin be standing here alive?

”This... Ninja-sama, this is merchandise I recently acquired from a merchant from Iwagakure...” the owner said, still wiping his sweat.

”You bastard! You shameless beast! This is my daughter! This is my daughter!”

Rin’s mother shrieked in grief, as if only by doing so could she vent the fury in her heart.

The owner did not dare speak.

Before, he had still dared to argue, since the two middle-aged people were not ninja. But now that Kakashi had appeared, the owner did not dare say anything more.

”...”

Kakashi silently looked at the replica in front of him.

It was so alike.

Its appearance was almost identical.

But looking at the way it had been dressed, and thinking of the special nature of this general store, Kakashi knew that Rin’s likeness appearing here could not mean anything good.

Then he saw the sign above it.

Kakashi’s mouth twitched.

”How many did you receive?” Kakashi turned his head and asked.

The priority now was to find out how many the owner had obtained and how many had already been sold.

As for the Iwagakure merchant, Kakashi did not expect to find him.

That person had most likely already left.

”I only had four in total. I wanted all of them, and then...” The owner swallowed nervously.

He did not know how the ninja in front of him would deal with him after he answered.

”I sold two. Only this one is left.”

The owner finished speaking.

Kakashi keenly sensed that something was wrong.

He looked at the owner, his gaze turning dangerous.

”Where is the other one?” Kakashi’s voice was as cold as ice.

”I...”

The owner could not speak.

His legs trembled.

Then he collapsed to the ground, begging for mercy and insisting that he had not known the identity of the doll.

Kakashi took a deep breath.

Rin’s father belatedly realized what had happened.

He clenched his fists in rage, his lips trembling uncontrollably.

Anyone could see the anger burning in his heart.

”I’ll buy all of them. Who were the other two buyers?” Kakashi asked calmly.

The owner hurriedly retrieved another Rin replica from his bedroom, then pushed the unsold one to Kakashi as well.

But the owner did not know who the buyers were.

Konoha was too large. There were many residents, and there were also visiting merchants. He could not necessarily remember the faces of customers who were not regulars.

Kakashi could only let it go.

He instructed the owner to obtain the buyers’ addresses if they appeared again, then helped Rin’s parents, who had cried until they fainted, leave the general store.

The outcome was not good.

The merchant from Iwagakure had already left, and the identities of the two buyers were unknown.

Kakashi gave the unused replicas to Rin’s parents.

As for the used one, he burned it to ashes on the spot with Fire Release.

Obito was trembling.

His entire body shook violently.

He lay on the ground in a fury, his fists buried deep in the mud. He was so angry that his teeth almost shattered, and blood flowed from his mouth, dripping into the soil.

Sharp stones pierced his fingernails, but he continued trembling uncontrollably.

The pain was swallowed by his rage and turned into fuel for it.

Although Kakashi had not said everything clearly, Obito had heard enough.

Rin’s likeness had been made into a doll and sold.

The moment Obito understood that, he lost all composure.

He did not even have the patience to keep listening. He rushed directly into Konoha.

He swore he would make those two bastards pay.

No matter what, he had to find them.

As he searched relentlessly, a disturbing thought also entered Obito’s mind.

What would a sold doll like that be used for?

It was a question that did not require much thought.

Obito shook his head.

It could not be like that.

Absolutely not.

He could not accept such a thing.

But the intense fear in his heart told him that this thought was probably the possibility closest to reality.

Obito no longer knew what he was thinking.

He merely continued searching mechanically, numbly moving through different rooms, looking for Rin’s figure.

Looking for the girl from his dreams.

Whether Obito was lucky or unlucky, he did not have to search for long.

By evening, he found one of the Rin replicas in an apartment room.

There was also a man in the room, using the replica for an obscene purpose while muttering filthy words that made Obito’s mind go blank.

Obito stood silently in the corner.

Of course, he could tell who it was.

He recognized her at a glance.

Although she was dressed strangely and still wore that fixed smile, he recognized her instantly.

And that ugly thing of a man had dared to defile her likeness.

He watched the scene before him, and the final string of sanity in his mind snapped.

”I want you to die!”

Obito unleashed his fury.

Countless wooden spikes shot up from the ground, violently piercing through the entire apartment building and carrying two figures high into the sky.

In an instant, countless wooden spikes tore through the apartment.

At their tips was the man, who was instantly impaled by countless wooden thorns.

For this man, Obito granted the highest blessing of his hatred.

He made the wooden spikes pierce him from below, then split into more spikes from inside his body, instantly turning him into a wooden puppet.

The man spat blood.

His body, controlled by the wooden spikes, was forced into a kneeling posture of repentance. His eyes were filled with countless protruding wooden thorns, creating a bizarre sense of twisted art in that moment.

Obito stared blankly at the equally damaged Rin replica beneath the man.

It was still smiling.

Its clothes were torn, and its mouth mechanically played pre-recorded obscene lines.

At that moment, the fury inside Obito reached an unimaginable level.

His Mangekyō Sharingan spun wildly, faintly advancing toward another level before ultimately stopping.

”Aaaaaah! You’re not Rin... You’re not!”

Obito roared like a madman.

The enraged Obito instantly attracted the attention of countless Konoha ninja. Numerous figures leaped toward the giant wooden spikes towering in the middle of Konoha.

Beneath his mask, Obito’s scarlet Sharingan glared furiously at the approaching Konoha ninja.

His heart was filled with such rage that even killing that man ten thousand times would not be enough to vent it.

So he charged down.

Fearlessly, he charged down.

Under the bright moonlight, a strange and twisted figure plunged resolutely toward the dense crowd below.
