Chapter 435: Chapter 435: Clones?

Chapter 435: Clones?

”Amamiya-kun, what are you planning to clone this time?”

In Amado’s laboratory, Sado Amado looked at Amamiya Kenichi curiously.

This was his first time seeing Kenichi borrow experimental equipment from him. If Amado remembered correctly, Kenichi had no prior experience in the field of cloning.

He had mentioned his cloning technology before, but at the time, Kenichi had clearly not been very interested in cloning. Amado had not expected him to suddenly become interested now.

”Ah, I have a novel idea I want to try...” Kenichi looked at the intricate instruments before him.

At first, he had thought Amado would not have much cloning equipment. To his surprise, the equipment occupied an entire room.

Amado glanced thoughtfully at Kenichi.

He remembered that Kenichi had previously invited him to participate in a fascinating project, one that would allow people from all over the world to communicate in the same place. Amado was very interested in it, but because of his current experimental issues, he had to postpone his participation for now.

He only wondered what Amamiya-kun planned to clone by borrowing the cloning machine from him now.

”Amamiya-kun, the operation of these cloning machines is not very complicated.” Amado gave up on probing further.

As a researcher himself, he naturally understood that some things were not convenient for others to know.

For example, he also had some very unique research that he would not reveal unless absolutely necessary.

So Amado decided to directly explain the cloning process to Kenichi.

After all, although these machines looked numerous, they were actually very simple to operate and not particularly complex.

”First, if you want to complete cloning, we need to use this machine...” Amado tried to explain in as much detail as possible.

Kenichi listened very carefully.

This knowledge was crucial to the success of his cloning plan.

Every profession was separated by a mountain. Kenichi knew nothing about cloning, so if he wanted to perform the cloning operation himself, he had to master this knowledge as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, using a machine and designing a machine were two completely different levels of difficulty.

After Amado carefully explained the entire cloning process, Kenichi gained a certain understanding of cloning. Now, it would not be a major problem for him to use these machines to complete the cloning process himself.

”Mr. Amado, I’d like to ask, what is the growth rate of the clones produced by your cloning machine?” Kenichi asked, thinking of the most important matter at hand.

From Amado’s explanation, Kenichi understood that Amado’s cloning technology was already quite mature. At the very least, cloning a person was not an issue.

The real problem was that Kenichi also needed speed.

If the clone’s growth rate was the same as that of an ordinary person, then it would take far too long. It would take at least seven or eight years for the clone to grow to a stage where awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan was possible.

And even then, there was still a possibility of failure.

”Oh, you’re asking about the clone’s growth rate? At present, there are two cloning methods.” Amado clapped his hands.

Regarding the growth rate of clones, Amado had put a great deal of thought into finding a solution.

”The first is the very traditional cloning method. Clones produced this way are similar to ordinary people and grow slowly from childhood into adulthood. The disadvantage is that it takes time, but the advantage is that the clone itself is very normal,” Amado said with a smile, beginning to explain his current cloning methods.

Kenichi could hear the barely concealed pride in Mr. Amado’s voice when he spoke about cloning technology.

However, Amado had every reason to be proud.

After all, not everyone could achieve what he had achieved. It could be said that in the ninja world, Amado was the leading authority in the field of cloning.

Kenichi had no interest in this cloning method.

If he wanted normal growth, he would not have asked this question. He had come to Amado specifically to ask about a method to quickly turn clones into combat-ready forces.

”Then there is the second type. The growth rate of clones cultivated using the second method is astonishing. They can reach the state of an eighteen-year-old in around three months. However, because their growth is so rapid, their aging process is also incredibly fast,” Amado said, mentioning his improved second cultivation method.

But when he spoke of this method, Amado’s expression became somewhat unusual.

Even he did not know exactly how he had achieved it.

It was a miracle born purely by chance.

But he had succeeded, and even now, thinking about it felt rather magical.

Kenichi nodded.

This was the effect he wanted.

However, when he considered that even such rapid growth still required around three months to reach maturity, he felt that time was still a little tight.

But there was no other way.

After all, three months was already extremely short. Normally, waiting for a clone to reach eighteen years old would take eighteen years, which was far too long.

”Mr. Amado, for these rapidly growing clones, will their organs continue to experience this rapid aging phenomenon after being removed from their bodies?” Kenichi could not help asking.

This was a question he cared about greatly.

After all, if the organs continued to rapidly grow and age after being removed from the body, the risk would be very high.

Moreover, although eyes were considered relatively special organs in the human body, eyeballs did have a lifespan.

The most direct manifestation of this was that young people often had good eyesight, while older people generally developed presbyopia. That was a direct reflection of the eye’s aging process.

In later stages, it became increasingly difficult for the eyes to see clearly, requiring the use of reading glasses.

This was a process almost everyone would experience.

”This...” Amado’s expression became much more serious. ”I have researched it before. The current conclusion is that conventional organs like kidneys and hearts, after being removed and transplanted into the bodies of normal people, will still show signs of rapid aging.”

He had also considered cultivating clones and using their organs to replace damaged ones.

But that idea had failed.

Although rapidly growing clones could mature quickly, Amado himself did not know how he had managed to make them grow so fast. Because of that, he was not very clear on the reason behind the rapid development and growth of their cells.

In any case, the organs of these rapidly growing clones would still age quickly even after being transplanted into other people’s bodies.

After transplantation, they generally could not last more than two years. The organs would need to be replaced after about one year.

However, strangely enough, after replacement, the recipient’s own organs might also show signs of rapid aging.

Kenichi frowned slightly.

If that was the case, then creating a fused Mangekyō Sharingan would likely require many more experiments, and the experimental cycle might become quite long.

”Three months to reach eighteen years old. That means roughly six years of growth per month. The average human lifespan is about seventy to eighty years. Does that mean that after fusing the Mangekyō Sharingan, I would still need to wait a year to observe whether it affects the fused Mangekyō?” ℯℯ𝑙.

Kenichi took a deep breath.

One year and three months.

No, perhaps one year and two months if shortened.

Even so, that was a massive stretch of time.

A year was enough to change many things. Who knew what Obito would do now?

If Kenichi had not provoked Obito before, perhaps he could still have temporarily developed in secret, waiting until he became stronger before confronting him.

But now, Obito was probably enraged to the point of madness.

The events that had already unfolded had made the relationship between Kenichi and Obito as irreconcilable as fire and water.

So quiet development was probably out of the question now.

Unless he thought of another way to stall Obito, making him believe that all plans were still under his control. If he could also make Black Zetsu think the same, then perhaps Obito would not rush into anything.

”Then, Amamiya-kun, feel free to use the equipment here. I’ve already told you how to operate it. If you want to achieve the second type of growth rate, you need to press the red button,” Amado said after patiently waiting for Kenichi, who had fallen deep into thought, for a while.

Kenichi quickly thanked him, then saw Amado off.

The other party disappeared directly in front of him.

Amado had used a Shadow Clone to receive Kenichi.

That also showed that Amado’s current experiment had indeed reached an important stage. Otherwise, he would not have been so busy that he could not even come out to meet him in person.

”Ah, Uchiha Madara really is troublesome.”

Kenichi looked at the empty laboratory, feeling as if a shadow were pressing down on him.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Uchiha Madara’s oppressive presence had been overwhelming. It far surpassed that of Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, who had appeared suddenly without much buildup.

One could even say that Kaguya appeared almost entirely for the sake of later plot developments, since her appearance introduced the Ōtsutsuki clan.

But purely in terms of the pressure he exerted on the two saviors, Naruto and Sasuke, Madara was indeed more prominent.

Every time they thought they had defeated him, he would pull out a new trump card and overturn the table again.

Kenichi shook his head.

Forget it.

Now was not the time to think about these things.

Instead of worrying about Uchiha Madara, who would certainly appear in the future, it was better to focus on completing his current research project.

Moreover, Kenichi also had a new countermeasure against Madara.

Madara before revival and Madara after revival were two completely different matters.

Having the Rinnegan and not having the Rinnegan were also two separate things.

Therefore, Kenichi only needed to research a Ninjutsu that could forcibly release Edo Tensei, then use it on Madara.

The built-in release method of Edo Tensei definitely would not work. Madara was a powerful individual who could directly release himself from control and prevent himself from being affected.

That meant a different approach was required.

He would send Madara back to the Pure Land.

After that, he would protect Nagato.

Otherwise, if Obito took Nagato’s eyes, what could Madara do?

”Let me see. According to Mr. Amado, what needs to be done now is...”

Kenichi took out the blood sample of the jonin he had extracted earlier.

Now, he needed to begin the cloning operation.

”I hope everything goes smoothly,” Kenichi sighed.

One year and two months.

And one test subject was definitely not enough.

It would be best to have another, which meant another jonin would have to be consumed.

Although a chunin could also awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, there might be some errors.

A jonin using the Mangekyō Sharingan would place less strain on the body, which was beneficial for his experiments.

As Kenichi followed the steps one by one, he finally pressed the red button.

Many bubbles appeared in the capsule filled with nutrient solution.

Kenichi could not see anything clearly. He could only see tubes connected toward the center, but the object at the center was still too small.

”Next, this little thing will soak in the cloning tank, absorb nutrients, and grow up.”

Kenichi looked at the nutrient tank in front of him and shook his head.

Then he pressed a button.

An iron cover lowered, shrouding the nutrient tank and making it impossible to see what was inside.

This was also something Amado had made.

It did not have any particular function.

It simply prevented people from seeing inside, which might reduce their sense of guilt somewhat.

The progress of scientific research sometimes brought about situations that left people uncertain how to feel.

The weather in the Land of Water was beautiful.

Warm sunlight spilled over every inch of land.

Rin Nohara sat on a rock, resting her chin in her hands as she gazed at the lake before her, lost in thought.

”Is it fake or real?”

Rin painfully tapped her head.

Before her death, she had already reached the level of a chunin, so she had some experience and knowledge. Because of that, her heart felt conflicted.

She always felt that something here seemed off.

But she did not know exactly what was wrong.

Her own investigations all pointed toward one possibility.

The man named Amamiya Kenichi loved her.

Loved her very much.

That was why he had done so many things.

But in Rin’s memories, there was no trace of anyone named Amamiya Kenichi.

”If it’s fake, then how did he get so many people to lie to me? So it should... probably be real?”

Rin’s eyes became somewhat hazy.

After hesitating for a moment, she stood up.

She decided to go find Kenichi herself and ask him about the doubts in her heart.
