Naruto: Orochimaru's Disciple

Chapter 401: Chapter 401: I Am the Fourth Mizukage!

Chapter 401: I Am the Fourth Mizukage!

”Sigh. I don’t know why, but I keep feeling like we’re the real villains here.”

Minato rested his chin on one hand and sighed as he watched the scene unfold before him.

Although there was no such thing as absolute justice or absolute evil among ninja, people standing on different sides naturally viewed matters differently. Even so, Minato still felt that what Amamiya Kenichi was doing was more than a little wicked.

”This is also to minimize further losses,” Amamiya Kenichi said, not particularly bothered.

He was preparing a sacrifice for the Edo Tensei of the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura. However, in order to prevent Yagura from displaying his full strength, Amamiya Kenichi had only prepared an ordinary Genin as the sacrifice.

Minato hesitated for a moment, then chose to remain silent.

He knew there was no point in saying anything. Since that was the case, it was better not to speak. After all, war had always been like this. A kind-hearted person simply could not bear to look at it directly.

Soon, as the Edo Tensei was completed, Yagura opened his eyes.

He looked around in confusion, then saw Minato leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, as well as Amamiya Kenichi standing nearby.

”A Konoha man!” ℯℯ𝑙.

Yagura suddenly sprang up, but immediately realized something was wrong with his body.

As a ninja, he had strong control over his own body. His current physical condition was definitely abnormal. More importantly, he remembered that he had already died.

After using that secret Ninjutsu, he had died because of the Three-Tails’ death.

”Don’t be so agitated, Fourth Mizukage-sama,” Amamiya Kenichi said indifferently.

A Genin’s body could not allow Yagura to display much of his original strength. Without the Three-Tails, Yagura might not even be a match for Minato.

That made Amamiya Kenichi even less worried.

”You desecrated the dead!” Yagura glared furiously at Amamiya Kenichi.

Amamiya Kenichi’s mouth twitched.

Was this really the time to be talking about that?

Why did it feel as though people in the Ninja World placed such great importance on the dead?

If the Ninjutsu he was developing succeeded, would Yagura suffer a brain hemorrhage just from seeing it?

”Fourth Mizukage, come. Tell me about the distribution of Hidden Mist Village’s forces throughout the Land of Water. That will also make it easier for your village’s people to survive,” Amamiya Kenichi said, looking at Yagura.

He had not activated his Mangekyo Sharingan yet.

Yagura, meanwhile, cautiously observed his surroundings.

He remembered Minato. He also remembered the strange figure with the Sharingan he had seen before.

That person...

”I won’t say a single word. Don’t even dream about it.” Yagura sneered.

He would never cooperate with Amamiya Kenichi and reveal the distribution of Hidden Mist Village’s forces in the Land of Water.

However, Amamiya Kenichi’s words still made anxiety stab through his chest.

After all, Yagura was not a fool. He naturally understood the implication behind those words.

This man intended to seize the entire Land of Water.

In the past, Yagura would never have believed anyone could have such a vast appetite. But after experiencing the atomic bomb explosion, Yagura no longer had much confidence.

If Hidden Mist Village could not withstand it, and even the Three-Tails could not withstand that attack, then how could the capital of the Land of Water possibly resist?

Would the Daimyo of the Land of Water not become a prisoner immediately?

”Don’t you want to save your child?” Amamiya Kenichi asked with a smile.

His Mangekyo Sharingan quietly appeared in his eyes.

Yagura froze when he heard those words, then instinctively looked up at Amamiya Kenichi.

The moment he saw Amamiya Kenichi’s eyes, Yagura’s pupils widened in shock.

He had not expected that the person with the Sharingan was actually this man.

Amamiya Kenichi clicked his tongue.

He had been thinking of using Genjutsu to see whether he could make Yagura fall for it and obediently reveal the intelligence he knew. However, he had not expected Edo Tensei bodies to possess such extraordinary resistance to Genjutsu.

The Genjutsu failed.

”My child...” Yagura’s pupils constricted.

There was no greater love in the world than a parent’s love for their child.

Although Yagura was the Fourth Mizukage, was he not also a father?

”Your child is still alive, for now. But if they don’t receive treatment soon, they’ll die,” Amamiya Kenichi added, seeing that there was still a chance.

As the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura certainly knew a great deal. With his intelligence, it would become even easier for Orochimaru to suppress the entire Land of Water.

Hidden Mist Village had already been destroyed by the nuclear explosion.

Under these circumstances, it was only a matter of time before Orochimaru took over the entire Land of Water. Still, obtaining the Fourth Mizukage’s intelligence would naturally speed up the process greatly.

What Amamiya Kenichi needed was to seize control of the Land of Water before the other four Great Ninja Villages noticed what was happening.

He also had to handle Mei Terumī carefully.

She would definitely fight to the death.

”I am the Fourth Mizukage!”

Yagura sneered, then formed hand signs without hesitation and cast a Ninjutsu.

Amamiya Kenichi frowned slightly.

It seemed negotiations had broken down.

However, Yagura’s choice could only be described as reckless.

What could he do in his current state?

Even if Amamiya Kenichi stood still, Yagura could not possibly harm him.

Unexpectedly, Yagura slapped his own chest directly, unleashing a Ninjutsu that shattered his torso.

Such an injury could not be ignored even with Edo Tensei.

”He chose to commit suicide.”

Amamiya Kenichi truly had not expected Yagura to choose this path.

He had thought the other party intended to fight to the death and drag him down with him.

”But if you’re unwilling to speak, there’s nothing I can do. What about the others, then?” Amamiya Kenichi looked at Yagura’s body as it began to crumble, then chuckled and patted his face.

Yagura looked at Amamiya Kenichi indifferently, a hint of mockery appearing on his face.

”What others say has nothing to do with me. I can only control myself.”

Yagura looked at Amamiya Kenichi mockingly.

Although he did not know why this man wanted information about the Land of Water, he would certainly never cooperate.

However, he had not expected the dead to be capable of resisting such Genjutsu.

If he had known earlier, perhaps he should have died back then. At least then, he would not have brought such disaster upon the village.

He hoped that, in the Pure Land...

Everyone would not blame him.

This useless Kage.

Watching Yagura return to the Pure Land with a smile, Amamiya Kenichi’s expression turned ugly.

That guy had actually dared to mock him before returning?

Interesting. Truly interesting.

However, Amamiya Kenichi would not get angry at a dead man.

After all, the other party had originally been doing fine as the Mizukage of Hidden Mist Village. If not for Amamiya Kenichi’s interference, even though Yagura would still die in the future, he likely could have lived for a while longer.

Amamiya Kenichi shook his head and went to examine the Hidden Mist survivors who had lived through the nuclear explosion.

These people were still alive. Coupled with their weakened bodies, they naturally could not resist Amamiya Kenichi’s Genjutsu.

Soon, Amamiya Kenichi learned who held the highest rank among them.

Hidden Mist Village Anbu Commander, Ozawa Sora.

”That name truly commands respect.”

Amamiya Kenichi looked at Ozawa Sora, who was struggling in pain, then began treating him.

He first tried the Chakra Scalpel technique. This Ninjutsu could extract harmful substances from the body. However, it only allowed Amamiya Kenichi to find some debris inside the man’s body, while seeming to have no effect on his actual injuries.

”But then again, some of Elder Chiyo’s poisons can’t be resolved with a single Ninjutsu either. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many poison-using ninja in the Ninja World.”

Amamiya Kenichi did not pay too much attention to it.

He knew the probability of extracting nuclear radiation through this method was low, but he had to try.

For now, he could only resort to some crude anti-radiation treatment methods.

”Some chemically synthesized agents naturally can’t be produced right now, but perhaps I can try using some traditional medicine...”

Amamiya Kenichi began treating Ozawa Sora.

This world itself did not understand what radiation was.

Although the Ninja World’s technology tree had developed in a strange direction, making the people of this world aware of the existence of radiation was still far too difficult.

Therefore, Amamiya Kenichi did not expect to find a specific antidote for radiation. Fortunately, traditional medicine existed. As for a special antidote, that could only wait until he had stabilized the Land of Water.

Amamiya Kenichi had read books on nuclear physics. They mentioned that iodine could help ease radiation symptoms to a certain extent.

However, whether it was because ninja had strong physical constitutions or because Ozawa Sora was simply lucky, after drinking some traditional medicine, his bodily functions stabilized significantly.

Amamiya Kenichi took this opportunity to implant a developed parasite into him.

After all, implanting eggs and waiting for them to grow from larvae into adults would take a certain amount of time. That amount of time might be enough for Orochimaru to end the war in the Land of Water.

So Amamiya Kenichi chose to directly implant an adult parasite.

As the adult parasite attached itself to Ozawa Sora’s brainstem, Amamiya Kenichi gained control over him.

”Can he answer questions honestly now?” Amamiya Kenichi asked his offspring.

He could sense the offspring’s presence and establish basic communication.

”Will damage the brain, yes.”

The offspring’s answer was somewhat inverted, but that did not matter.

As long as it worked.

Soon, Amamiya Kenichi extracted some intelligence from Ozawa Sora’s mouth, then quickly reported it to Orochimaru.

Orochimaru also began dividing his forces based on the situation in the Land of Water, while he himself arrived at the capital of the Land of Water.

The two most important places in a country were the capital and the village.

The capital of the Land of Water was where the theoretical highest authority of the country resided, while Hidden Mist Village was the country’s military guarantee.

Now that the battle in Hidden Mist Village had ended, it was time to suppress this place as well.

”But I’m truly curious... How exactly did my student do it?”

Orochimaru glanced toward the distant direction of Hidden Mist Village.

A mushroom-shaped black cloud could be seen standing there.

Orochimaru felt that it resembled the weapon his disciple had called a thermobaric bomb, but it appeared far larger.

This made Orochimaru somewhat curious.

According to his disciple, he seemed to have suppressed Hidden Mist Village very quickly.

That was an entire village.

Had his disciple grown to this extent?

However, Orochimaru immediately focused his attention on the chaotic capital of the Land of Water below.

His Mangekyo Sharingan flashed in his eyes.

”My disciple is so outstanding. As his teacher, I cannot fall behind.”

Orochimaru looked down at the Land of Water below.

Then, one after another, Land of Snow ninja jumped down.

Orochimaru followed closely behind them.

As one of the power centers of the Land of Water, the capital naturally had some Jonin responsible for its protection.

In order to reduce casualties and quickly suppress the country, Orochimaru also needed to end the battle quickly.

According to Orochimaru’s own preference, simply killing everyone in the capital of the Land of Water would eliminate any concerns about intelligence leaks, since many ninja spies were gathered there.

But there was no helping it.

His disciple’s ambition was too great, and it required sufficient population support.

So he, as the teacher, had to help.

”...Hidden Mist Village became history today.”

Amamiya Kenichi looked at Hidden Mist Village before him, then wrote that line down on paper.

Minato had already led his team to assist Orochimaru in suppressing the Land of Water, while Amamiya Kenichi remained here.

He needed to observe the effects of nuclear radiation on the environment, and incidentally experiment with the Ninjutsu he had in mind.

”So many people died. What a pity.”

Amamiya Kenichi looked at Hidden Mist Village. It was as if he could hear countless wronged souls wailing there.

Yet his heart did not ripple.

This broken world had always been like this.

Countless innocent people had spilled their blood and lives upon this land.

The three previous Great Ninja Wars had caused countless casualties, and the Sengoku period before that had been even worse.

Now, it was merely the people of Hidden Mist Village who had died.

Only when true peace arrived could this world return to normal.

”Then let’s try it.”

Amamiya Kenichi was still some distance away from Hidden Mist Village, because he did not want to be affected by nuclear radiation.

”Let me see. According to my previous conjecture, the improved Reanimation Ninjutsu uses the concept of Edo Tensei but does not require a sacrifice. Because of that, it cannot revive the dead into a form with sufficient combat power. So, what if I add the theory of One’s Own Life Reincarnation?”

Amamiya Kenichi closed his eyes in thought.

Resurrection of the dead.

If it followed the principle of equivalent exchange, then to give the dead a certain amount of combat power, one should also have to pay more.

Only then could one obtain the deserved result.

”Sage Art!”

Amamiya Kenichi opened his eyes, lightning-like patterns densely covering the corners of his eyes.

Immediately afterward, massive Chakra condensed and surged through his body, beginning to form a specific shape according to Amamiya Kenichi’s conception and hand signs.

If Amamiya Kenichi had his Mangekyo Sharingan active at this moment, he would notice that his Chakra was constructing a door.

The prototype of a profound door.
