Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 1028: Chapter 427: Power of Fortune (3)

In contrast to his developed brain, his body was hunched and skinny, seemingly beginning to degrade due to long-term lack of exercise, and he could only move around using a floating wheelchair.

Just by looking at the exterior, he seemed no different from other eccentrics, but if you looked closely, you’d find that his body wasn’t made of real flesh and blood, but was connected by countless tiny points of light and line segments.

His entire body was a massive network.

Bonas was considered an anomaly within the Bright Society; unlike other members, the Imaginary Divinity within him was completely fictitious, with no corresponding myth in reality as a reference.

In non-modern background Planes, his combat power was extremely weak, arguably the weakest among all formal members, but within a technological background Dungeon, it’s no exaggeration to say his power could rank in the top three within the Bright Society.

However, compared to fighting, Bonas preferred building, researching, and gathering intelligence.

Connections between electronic devices aren’t the only ones called networks; all interconnected people and things also possess networks.

Bonas was involved in the layout and construction of all the equipment in the Bright Society, including Imaginary Divinity and secret research facilities, and the boundary-breaking ceremony affecting the Desolate Realm.

Every arrangement was a node in his network, continuously acquiring the intelligence he desired.

At this moment, he was riding the floating wheelchair back into his custom-made Item, the ”Information Magic Cube,” preparing to engage in his favorite daily activity.

Peeping, no, monitoring all Planes related to the Bright Society.

Knock, knock, knock.

The sound of knocking came from outside, making Bonas frown; he disliked having his joyous time disturbed.

Apart from the bedrooms of formal members, every part of the Bright Society’s headquarters had his ’eyes.’

Before opening the door, he already saw that Mercury was standing outside.

With a wave, he opened the door and let Mercury in.

Bonas asked, ”What’s the matter?”

Mercury maintained a smile, unfazed by Bonas’s displeased tone.

In the Abyssal Game, information is king; controlling enough information is equivalent to controlling everything.

Bonas’s combat power fluctuated significantly, but his status within the Bright Society was not to be underestimated, compelling people to endure his bad temper and his voyeuristic quirk.

Mercury said, ”The World Dungeon is about to begin. Since the World Dungeon is too bloated, regular contact with the Desolate Realm has been severed. The boss asked me to find you to check how many of those seeds are still alive.”

Seeing a serious task assigned by Joy, Bonas didn’t dare linger and instantly brought up four images in front of Mercury, three of which showed a figure, while the fourth was completely black.

”Apart from that idiot investigating Peace, all other seeds are doing well.”

The ’seeds’ Mercury referred to were the four Imaginary Divinities the Bright Society deployed to the Desolate Realm.

Their selection was quite cunning; even though White Wolf ran into Wu Chang and exposed his identity, under the Four Major Organizations’ thorough search, the other three remained undiscovered.

Thinking of this, Bonas couldn’t help but say:

”Peace is no big deal; you’re just too cautious, letting him scare you into the shadows.”

”In the end, Peace is just a Player; no matter how strong he is, he’s just one person. In the face of world-scale changes, an individual’s Power is insignificant; what can he achieve?”

Mercury continued to smile, not arguing back.

Bonas, merely uninvolved, could make carefree remarks, but if he truly encountered Peace, he’d realize how tricky that guy truly was.

”Since there’s no issue, I’ll be leaving.”

Mercury was about to leave when Bonas, whose words were cut short due to external intrusion, suddenly had a drastic change in expression.

”Oh no!”

Mercury retracted his half-step and asked, ”What happened?”

Bonas said, ”Someone’s broken into the secret facility, trying to take over my control permissions. Let’s see who’s got such audacity!”

”Huh, it’s the Divine Hall of Death, well, you can have a look.”

Upon hearing the Divine Hall of Death, Mercury was instantly interested.

If it were normal times, anyone bold enough to mention the Divine Hall of Death in front of him would promptly be retaliated against, he’d steal a couple Items or trick them into signing a few contracts.

The Divine Hall of Death was his eternal stain; mentioning those words before him was akin to a blatant insult.

Ever since the Painter and Hel teamed up to play a trick on him, humiliating him before the entire Bright Society, the Divine Hall of Death became his trigger point, easily provoked.

Only today, upon hearing those words, did he refrain from flipping out immediately.

He wrinkled his nose, a phantom pain at the tip.

As far as he remembered, the Plane where the Divine Hall of Death was located had been seized by Peace, becoming a private Plane.

Theoretically, only Peace could enter the Divine Hall of Death; obviously, the person attempting to seize Bonas’s permissions had a relation to Peace.

Once there was an intruder in the Divine Hall of Death, Hel and Cam would surely go mad. For Peace to have the time to seize the Divine Hall of Death meant he either eliminated or sealed Hel.

Bonas had been shouting happily just now, eager to see if Peace could make this voyeuristic head eat dirt this time.

Bonas’s serious demeanor lasted only a few seconds before he scornfully said:

”With such little skill, you think you’re worthy of seizing my control permissions?”

Mercury asked coolly: ”They didn’t succeed?”

Bonas grumbled, ”Of course not, I saw her, a native not even elevated to the Realm of Reason. If she can seize my permissions, I’ll...”

Mercury saw Bonas suddenly falter in his words, so he asked, ”You’ll what?”

Before Bonas could respond, he saw an incredible dent appear in his enormous head at the nose, a dent resembling an elbow’s shape.

Bonas didn’t finish his sentence before flying back from the floating wheelchair, nose blood spraying an arc across the air.

Seeing Bonas stagger to get up, Mercury instantly felt pleased, always so loud, but after taking a blow to the nose, you’re also spraying nose blood.
