Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 1017: Chapter 424: The Fire Seed of True Divinity

As Hel was erased by Chaos Authority, the Netherworld, condensed from the prototype of the Divine Kingdom, began to slowly disperse.

This time, Hel was really dead.

Although toward the later stage of the battle, ever since Hel’s defenses were broken by Chaos Authority and Deep Water Bite, Wu Chang had already realized that he could win.

But when he actually took Hel down, he still found it a bit hard to believe. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

He’d actually killed a real God.

It wasn’t his first time defeating a God, but the Hel that appeared here and the God projections he’d encountered before had absolutely no comparability.

Whether it was a God’s projection or a God’s clone, both were constrained by the Rules of the Desolate Realm, unable to exert Power beyond what the Desolate Realm allowed.

They relied on the Divinity within their projections to bully ordinary Players more than enough, but when facing Wu Chang, those God projections couldn’t threaten him at all, and couldn’t really be counted as true Gods.

The native Gods of the Desolate Realm were even more so. They were born from the faith of the Desolate Realm Plane’s Indigenous People, innately possessing Divine Power, knowing how to convert faith into Divine Power, and when facing the Power of Root in the Desolate Realm, it was basically a dimensionality reduction strike.

Gods evolved from faith did not need to have their feet on the ground to condense Divinity by comprehending Power from the Root Source, nor did they need to inherit other Divinity.

As the price, their existence had a strongly bound relationship with the believers who worshiped Them.

The believers of the Desolate Realm completely locked in Their ceiling, making Their upper limit unable to exceed the framework of the Desolate Realm; in terms of true strength, at most They were only Demigods.

Unless They could lead a Plane Ascension into the Realm of Reason, or through later cultivation break free of the binding to Their believers, otherwise They were actually inferior to God projections.

Hel’s existence was different from all of Them.

Hel could not enter the Desolate Realm, but she had condensed her Divinity in the Middle Realm; here, she would not be restricted, equivalent to a complete God able to use her full Power.

Among all the enemies Wu Chang had encountered, Hel was second only to the Master of the Deep Sea.

Being able to defeat such a powerful enemy meant that even if he ran into a Divine Level existence alone, he’d still have the Power to fight.

Although Hel’s Status wasn’t perfect—her Divinity had flaws, and her mind was muddled because of the experiments—he had also held back, not using his Ultimate Skill, Chaos Knight transformation.

Besides, he had defeated Hel without first finding the resentment on Hel, without using Extraordinary Skills to read Hel’s information, winning in a completely fair State.

This result left him extremely excited.

Just as Wu Chang relaxed, a voice filled with disbelief sounded from behind him.

”Kid, you actually managed to beat that monster for real!”

Wu Chang turned around, only to see He Yi standing behind him, sighing as he looked at the collapsing Netherworld.

Judging from his tone, He Yi was even more shocked than him about Hel’s defeat.

Wu Chang shrugged and said:

”I already showed this kind of Power when dealing with the Desire Mother Goddess. I thought you already knew.”

He Yi withdrew his gaze from the Netherworld and asked:

”Can I learn this kind of Power?”

”I’ve been observing Yun lately; she seems to have mastered a similar kind of Power.”

Wu Chang looked toward the drone possessed by He Yun and said, ”You shouldn’t be asking me that question.”

He Yun picked up the thread and said:

”You can. Hymn Company has a technology called Spiritual Ability Activation Surgery. It can develop a person’s potential and grant them Extraordinary Power.”

”I’ve been preparing the details of the surgery for you. It won’t be long before I can take you over to activate your Extraordinary Power.”

Seeing the joy on He Yi’s face, Wu Chang thought to himself that He Yi’s combat Talent was already absurdly high; if he went on to complete the level-nine Spiritual Power Activation Surgery, Wu Chang really had no idea what he would turn into.

He could already imagine, in a battle against some God, He Yi’s Tyrant mecha being destroyed, and facing an opponent with a smug face who thought victory was in the bag, He Yi would climb out of the cockpit and solve the enemy with three punches and two kicks.

Then add one more line: ”Aside from mecha, I know a bit of hand-to-hand combat too.”

He Yi was the kind of ruthless guy who could swing a Mechanical Long Saber with his bare body and chop a mecha apart alive; it wasn’t impossible at all.

Wu Chang let out a breath, condemning the cheat-like buff of the He siblings on behalf of the other existences in the Abyss, then shifted his attention back to Hel.

While they spoke, the Netherworld had already completely dispersed, revealing the original research facility beneath.

After Hel’s death, the first thing that needed to be dealt with was the massive number of lost souls.

Having lost Hel’s control, the souls within her body surged out, forming a gray air current like a cyclone.

Within the current, the sounds were shrill and full of despair, like the Screams of tortured prisoners from the depths of Hell.

He took out the Soul Cleansing Banner and walked toward the stream of souls.

With his current Power, wielding the Soul Cleansing Banner to perform Exorcism on the lost souls was not difficult, but the number of souls released after Hel’s death was too great. To add some ritual feeling, and at the same time follow the guidance of Inspiration, he began stepping out the footwork he’d used before he added his Energy Attribute, the one used to drive the Soul Cleansing Banner.

Following the trajectory of the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper, he slowly circled around the vortex of souls, muttering under his breath while waving the Soul Cleansing Banner in his hand.

To smoothly complete the Exorcism of the souls, as he swung the banner he also cooperated with Earth Thunder, accelerating the Exorcism.

The Exorcism ritual lasted ten minutes before he finally Exorcised all the souls within Hel. Just like before, part of the Soul Power turned into white light and shot straight into the sky, while part was absorbed for Soul Nourishment into the Soul Cleansing Banner.

The massive influx of souls caused the Soul Cleansing Banner to grow from a twenty-centimeter-long small flag all the way to fifty centimeters. The flag surface became thick and heavy; on the pure white fabric, some silver-white dark patterns emerged, and a layer of hazy, treasure-like radiance formed on the surface.
