Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 1003: Chapter 419: Soul-Hound and Surface Mutation_2

He noticed that the mecha of He Yi and the others had signs of combat. The marks were fresh, and the damage was considerable, enough to break through the defense of the specialized armor and leave scratches dozens of centimeters deep on the mecha.

In the plane of the Underground Shelter, the mecha manufactured by He Yun had a generational difference from regular mechas, especially the one driven by He Yi, which possessed divinity and was no inferior to the ”Peace Envoy.” It was hard to imagine what could inflict damage on it.

When He Yun drove the empty vehicle to the third underground level, He Yi had already noticed their arrival and drove his mecha to greet them.

He was very familiar with Wu Chang, raised his hand to greet, but faced Erin, he didn’t know how to open his mouth.

Ever since He Yun introduced the Eternal Light Sect into the Underground Shelter, everything he knew changed. He discovered that the world was not limited to one; through a special portal within the Eternal Light Church, it was possible to access other worlds.

He once entered a world called Hymn Company with He Yun, where the lifestyle and technological development route were vastly different from the Underground Shelter.

He Yun learned a lot from the Hymn Company world, using the knowledge from there to manufacture the surface purification generator.

Presumably, the woman following He Yun and Wu Chang was also from another world. However, the strange thing was, he had never seen her, yet he had an inexplicable sense of familiarity towards her.

He Yun introduced to He Yi, ”This is Erin. She has another name, called Eternal Pure Light.”

Eternal Pure Light, isn’t this the deity title worshipped by the Eternal Light Church?

”Is it that divine deity?” He Yi asked uncertainly.

He Yun confirmed, ”Yes, Erin is a true god.”

Ssss~

The cockpit door of He Yi’s mecha opened, and he jumped out, looking nervously at Erin.

He was not a pure believer. Previously, whether the Bliss Sect or Mercury mentioned gods in the Underground Shelter, he had scoffed.

In his view, if there truly were gods, his world wouldn’t be in such a state.

If the surface falls into desolation, deliberately done by gods, he wouldn’t hesitate to throw a few punches upon meeting a deity.

But the Eternal Light Church was different. Since its introduction to the Underground Shelter, every entry into the church made his emotions extremely peaceful, allowing him to completely relax.

Additionally, the special portal connecting to other worlds showcased methods only gods could employ, increasingly convincing him that if there truly were gods in the world, they must be like Eternal Pure Light.

The appearance of Eternal Pure Light also answered his previous question: Why, if gods exist, would the surface still fall into desolation?

The answer was that true gods had never visited this land before.

Facing He Yun’s serious expression, without the slightest hint of joking, He Yi felt a bit overwhelmed.

Oh no, nobody told him how to greet a god.

What should he do now? Should he kneel, and if so, on one knee or both?

Wu Chang and the others did not notice He Yi’s mental storm. While his mind was chaotic, it was Erin who first greeted He Yi.

”Nice to meet you. If the Underground Shelter encounters difficulties hard to solve, you can pray to me. Wu Chang and I will find a way to help you resolve them.”

He Yi ultimately couldn’t figure out how to greet a god, so he responded in fear:

”It’s an honor to meet you, Eternal Purity Crown.”

The introductions ended, Wu Chang couldn’t help but ask:

”The scratches on the mecha are very new. Did you encounter a tricky enemy on the surface?”

He Yi shook his head, ”The enemy didn’t come from the surface but appeared here.”

Wu Chang frowned, observing the surroundings.

Number 88 Underground Shelter, could it be built in the lair of the Evil God?

The second underground level unearthed the Desire Stele, and the third level dug out other creatures?

He Yi said, ”It’s difficult to explain to you in words. Yun, activate the surface purification generator and demonstrate it once.”

He Yun took out a tablet, and through inputting commands, the surface of the purification generator lit up with white light.

The Power of Faith gathered towards two pyramids, refined layer by layer through the towers, and by the time it reached the peak, the Power of Faith had been transformed into divinity.

As the divinity transmitted into the Energy Center, amidst the non-characteristic divinity, purification aura gradually surfaced, and the air on the third underground level began to distort, as if something was appearing out of thin air.

”Everyone be careful, they’re coming!” He Yi leaped back into the cockpit, the mecha instantly activated, entering alert status.

The sudden change in front was obviously not the first or second occurrence. Before He Yi reminded them, other mechas guarding the purification generator on the surface had already drawn their weapons, preparing for defense.

A few seconds later, seven or eight transparent monsters emerged within the distorted air.

Each monster was approximately five meters tall, shaped like giant dogs, with sharp claws and fangs, their bodies burning with flames. The flames on their bodies didn’t exude heat, rather emitted penetrating chill.

One of the giant dogs swiped its paw at a mecha, the mecha operator raised a shield to block, and the shield with the special characteristic of armor infused with divinity was penetrated by the flames instantly. Afterwards, the giant dog’s paw left five scratch marks on the shield.

Wu Chang saw clearly, the reason the divine armor could be easily pierced was that the flames on the giant dogs also contained divinity.
